Full of underrated art depicting African Americans and our history. You can truly get lost in the mural halls, along with every other piece there. Its temporarily closed, but every time Ive gone theyve followed all the guidelines and given a satisfactory experience. The founder is one of the nicest people Ive ever met, so the entire atmosphere is just *chefs kiss* I love it. 11/10 would recommend!!
Explore our rich amazing culture and history displayed... Food, shops, vendor merchandise and awesome people knowledgeable of our history. Stop it anytime And youll fall in love with this place.
African Market Place1st and 3 rd SaturdayFun place to shop for unique items hand made soaps, Kelly Korn carmel popcorn ( the best ever)!!! African clothing, jewelry and Good food.
My people, if you get a chance visit this place. It is held inside a building that has African American vendors on the 1st and 3rd Sundays. So not only can you check out the art and history, you can shop. African American head wraps, clothes, products, jewelry, food... you name it, its there. Not only that but you can find out about other happenings in the community.
Best kept secret! Must see in Florin area of Sacramento, CA. The murals are so skillfully done that I got lost in time viewing the African American & Latina collections all the while snapping pics. Then I browsed the merchant shops & found a few souvenirs.
Love coming here during the week to check out the art. Always great food vendors during African marketplace
Absolutely wonderful. Love my Peeps. I found lots of great one of a kind gifts.Good learning the history.
This place is simply amazing. Especially if youre a history buff, like me.
This place has lot of really smart, innovative and friendly African American vendors. This is the place to purchase African American cultural items including naturally made oils, incense, soap, serums, cure-alls and other stuff your mama will love. The art that is showcased in the museum is authentic and truly reflective of the beauty and complexity of black struggle in the U.S. This is a place you will want to bring friends and family members who need to deepen their understanding about blackness and African American culture. They also have food, jewelry, handbags, books, clothes, and other cultural items for sale at very reasonable prices.
This was an amazing experience. Everyone was so friendly the vendors are so informative and the pricea are so reasonable. The Art is outstanding and amazing. I was happy that I came here. The things we miss in our own town. I will definitely be visiting here over and over again. This place gets an A++++++++
A safe space in a world where space is unsafe. Take your family, tell your friends there is nothing like it here in Sacramento. Experience the culture of art, food, boutiques and more! The centre is bustling with people and food for the soul, activities for kids and shopping and music for the adults every 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. Dont pass up this experience. ️
Great merchandise, music and vibe. A family oriented community with beautiful people who have the most beautiful spirits.
Great place to see the history of our people of the past also the art pictures are priceless.
My first time visiting. It was really neat! Good food and great items.
Great atmosphere and lovely art. I recommend visiting.
We heard Sacramento had an African American Museum so we thought wed see some history. The location isnt noticable from the outside but its essentially a building with vendors. They have some graphics and paintings on the walls as well as entrances to boutiques or shops. Id suggest going during an event so you can experience the food. We werent greeted and most of the pictures dont have descriptions. I think most of the art was promotions or donated.
Love that this center is surviving. So important. Looking forward to it thriving.
Beanas carrot pie is amazing. Zaire is a beautiful and helpful young man. Go support him.

Their is a beautifully painted timeline, along the walls of Sojourners Truth. What better way to uplift the spirits of young melanin beings. It would be awesome, if their was truth also shared about Mama Africa. In regards to the many countries; Ethiopia, Botswana, Ghana, to name a few.

Bought great souvenirs and even better food
Its a hall of murals, which is great, but not a museum and it should state that.
Definitely not a museum! Very misleading. All it offers is a mural of prominent African American leaders, which is great, but that is literally it sadly.
This is really a little known place that is rich in culture.
