The imax was awesome, very few people when we went which was nice. Staff was cool. No complaints
Without a doubt the best option for IMAX viewings in the greater Portland area. The reclining seats are comfortable and roomy. Being able to buy your tickets at the kiosk and select exactly where you are going to sit is a huge plus. Concessions are the usual level of mildly absurd pricing, but thats what youre going to see at every theater nowadays.
Tonight was my first time at this cinema and loved the seats that recline. The screen was phenomenal. They could have been cleaned up better. Our seats had chocolate m&m in the seats and on the seats. Something that you definitely dont want to sit on. Also the carbonation on the fountion machines was not working tonight. So we got dry mouths. Everything else was great. Thank you
This is the way a theatre experience should be; comfortable seating in recliners, clean, great acoustics and great views from every seat in the theatre. With 12 theatres the viewing areas are smaller than older theatres which I liked as well. The concession stand had a good variety at the infamous movie theatre exorbitant pricing. I had a large Coke along with M&M peanuts which were good for about $10. Ouch!!! When all is said and done, if youre wanting to see a movie I highly recommend Cinemagic & IMAC in Saco.
First time Ive been here since they require you pick a seat before entering the theater. Ive been going to movie theaters for 60+ years and have never been required to reserve a seat. I like to go into the theater, look around, get a feel for the seating, find a quiet area, then choose a seat accordingly. Im sure some corporate suit dreamed this up to impress someone higher up without giving thought to the downside, like slowing down the ticket line while people stand there trying to decide where they want to sit. What a bunch of BS! Ill look for another theater where you dont have to reserve a seat.
Went to see Tenet. Great experience
Doesnt cut its hours during the school year like other theaters in the area.Seats are comfortable. Not a fan of the IMAX part of the theater, as the glasses/effects hurt my eyes, but that isnt a mark against them. The thing I didnt like is the rising prices of theaters.
Been to many movies here and the place is great. The staff is always polite and helpful. Popcorn is always delicious.
By far the worst ran establishment I have ever experienced. General manager has no idea what he is doing, and does not treat customers with respect. I had tickets for the noon showing of call of the wild with a super combo but purchased for the wrong day and he told me since I ordered for the previous week he couldn’t do anything and told me i wasn’t getting a refund, and proceeded to tel me I was lying. guess the customer isn’t always right. I won’t be going here again . Coorprate seriously needs to re-evaluate who they hire.
Absolutely amazing and will definitely go back. Anyone whos rated below a 5 star for this cinema is only salty bdays they couldnt get decent seats. Ignore the negative comments, use this theatre anytime!! Will definitely be back.
Love the seats and the setup in the theaters. Love that you choose your seats when getting tickets. Prices on food are a good bit higher than other theaters.
Went to see a movie lastnight and was disappointed that the popcorn was cold, more importantly with what’s going on in the world right now I was most disappointed with the condition of the theater. There was trash all over the seats and floor which clearly indicated that no one had clean or sanitized, I went to the bathroom and the soap was ripped off the wall making it so that I couldn’t even properly wash my hands, which is completely unacceptable. Luckily we brought our own sanitizer and wipes to wipe down the chairs and sanitize our hands.
This was my first time seeing a movie in IMAX and it was absolutely incredible! We had so much fun! Their seats are unbelievably comfortable! And the popcorn was yummy.
Went to see Mr. Rogers last night. It was a great movie. Now the theater, I have to say wow! Havent been able n awhile, seats were wide and luxurious. They even have motorized recline (helps to make you forget all the commercials before the movie)! Only wierd thing is full recline next to someone you dont know... Great experience non the less
Inexpensive matinees. Not crowded. Super comfortable reclining seats. Plenty of room.
Enjoyed a movie with my bride last night, great comfortable recliner seating, friendly staff, very clean facility. And I got a great Military discount which they honor!
Love this theatre. Super comfy reclining seats, most of the seating has a good view. Very clean as well. Not too busy that you cant see something last minute. Food is pricy but its a movie theatre so thats to be expected. Also attached to a pizza place so you can grab a bite to eat and only need to get a small sized popcorn :)
New recliners are comfy, but can be too big for kids and shorter adults. May want to consider bringing a bolster pillow.
Saw Tom Hanks in the Fred Rogers story!Everyone should see this delightful story. We need more people like Fred Rogers.
The IMAX theater was very clean and the best way to see the new Star Wars movie. The reclining seats are very comfortable. The self ticket purchasing was very easy to use.
Absolutely amazing, very clean comfy and and the sound was flawless. Dont even get me talking about the seats! I could lay there forever.
Wow!! Epic sound in this place and did someone say SNACKS??!!! Ohhh snacks like Awesome snacks!!! Was clean and the employees were so nice and greeted us with smiles!!! Will be back for sure!!
Went to see 1917 in Imax, great movie.Highly recommended.
Extremely unhappy at this point. Used the cinemagic website to purchase our seats in advance. The site charged my card twice for three tickets.and never assigned us seats.Manager says the charges will drop off in a few days. Good thing I dont need access to my money. Took two seconds to take my money. So manager lets us in to the movies BUT the seats we purchased were also purchased by another family. So we have to leave as its a sold out theater aNd are given seats for the 5 oclock show. So not only do we have to change our entire days plans we have to go to a movie on a school night at dinner time. Put a five year old in a dark theater at dinner time and YEP he falls asleep. Will be one EXTREMELY UNHAPPY little boy who has waited a long time to see this movieCompletely inconvenienced .bad enough to have to take two little boys out of the theater once but now one of those little boys will be upset for the second time today.
Bring your own snacks and drinks. Hopefully you dont need a loan for the tickets.
The only IMAX theater in Southern Maine.I come to this location whenever theres a huge movie event I want to experience in IMAX. We came to watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi.I had a good experience. The line to get in was handled well, and there didnt seem to be any chaos. The employees all seem really nice and professional. The parking lot is pretty big, but it was still overcrowded. People were parking elsewhere and walking over. Our car was hit by someone trying to park in a spot that wasnt actually a parking space. The interior was about as clean as a theater could be - but I feel bad because people just dump their popcorn everywhere and leave trash. Pick it up, people. The bathrooms are small, and the lines usually begin forming directly after a movie is finished. On top of that, their food is insanely overpriced ($5.00 for a hot dog) and not prepped well.Still, the movie-viewing experience itself was great. Would definitely recommend if you want an IMAX experience.
I think its awesome exept that the butter in the popcorn leaks threw and i stain my pants everytime
The seats are so comfortable! And they are electronically controlled to recline
Absolutely love the stadium seating. The reclining chairs are super comfortable.
Just saw star wars 3d on the big comfy seats with the beat popcorn around. Love this movie theater and the staff is so friendly!
Saw Avengers Endgame. Loved it. I love the new reclining leather seats. Staff was friendly as always. I wish they had keto friendly snacks at the snack bar but not going to take a star for that. I have been going to Cinemagic since they opened, love this place.
Went to see an IMAX a few weeks ago and I was impressed. The seats are comfortable (make sure you dont sit so high up, itll feel less immersive) and the space was clean.
Maine finally has a good movie theater. They recently upgraded the IMAX theater, awesome reclining seats, super clean, sound and video were great. I’ve been to the the best movie theaters in the United States and used to hate coming back to Maine where this theater was so mediocre... not anymore though.
Great theater. Love the recliners. The folks working seem a bit dazed and confused. They didnt give me my 3D glasses. I didnt think much of it because you tend to get them by the door. But wasnt the case this time.
Tempted to give a lower rating but I have to recognize the efforts to modernize the pre-movie advertisement by recently improving their cinemagic promo clips. That being said, for all the improvements to the theater and experience quality, their concession stand is still a bottleneck and begs the question why they dont hire someone worth the extra few bucks an hour who is willing to move faster than a snails pace.
The recling chairs within the theaters are amazing, the bathrooms are mostly clean, but of course all food is overpriced and not worth it. Otherwise an amazing experience for movies.
Definitely the best place to see a movie in southern Maine. They now have reclining seats. The only disappointment was that the arms didnt lift up. At a theater in MA, they do and I can snuggle with my boyfriend during the movie. Still enjoyed it, though, and you can now reserve seats so you know you will be able to sit together and dont have to get there early.
Always good for a change of pace.I have vertigo so have to sit far away but truly an enjoyable experience. ;)
Ive been going here for years. Its always been a great experience and its where I first saw Avatar. They just upgraded the seats in the IMAX theater. Its the closest you can get to the IMAX experience without going all the way to Philadelphia a true 70mm IMAX Theater. At the time of writing this, Ottos pizza has moved into the restaurant built into the building and offers some of the best pizza in the area. This is my preferred theater in Southern Maine
Great facility.....current titles..... helpful staff....BUT everything slows down at the counter because you must select your seat in advance from the computer..... STUPID, WASTEFUL, POINTLESS policy!!!!
Love this theater!! The recliners are so so comfy!
Nice clean theatres cozy seats..Very enjoyable.
Movie theater seems to have over sold tickets and hassled us about our seats even though we had the correct tickets, purchased ahead of time. Took 20min to get popcorn and a liter of cola. Snack stand was disorganized and some sweaty guy kept touching himself that was serving food.
The new reclining seats are awesome! there are now just self service screens where you can buy tickets or get tickets bought in fandango or something. has normal selection of candy, popcorn, and drinks. the staff is pretty friendly.
Best movie theater in new England the quality of this theater is impeccable
Quite probably the best theater in Maine.
Great reserved seating & nice lounges.
I love this place and frequent it often. Im so glad theres an IMAX in this part of Maine! The staff is (almost) always friendly and helpful and the place is pretty clean. My biggest gripe is the popcorn. You can smell burnt popcorn every time you walk in this place. I still buy some when Im there and most of its fine. But not all of it. I should not consistently get some burnt popcorn when going to the theater, especially given the markup on concessions. But aside from that, its a great local chain!
Only IMAX around so its a must for big blockbuster movies
This is a good movie theater. Never has been overly dirty and never had a bad experience watching a movie here.
Great place to see a movie, all the seats recline, theres a pizza joint called Ottos attached where you can eat before or after. I havent tried it yet but it looks good.
Nice theater, and, it was toasty warm in this cold, rainy fall night. Any other theater Ive been in has been cold.UPDATE: The theater (IMAX) was STILL toasty warm when we saw our movie. Loving it!
Might be the only IMAX close enough to go to and yet it still delivers an extremely high quality movie viewing experience.
A great place to watch movies...if you want to watch movies on IMAX then this is the place!!!If you reside in one of the nearby city then plan on starting to this place little earlier as the traffic gets really worst sometimes due to recurring accidents on I-295 southbound..A great place to enjoy the movie with your friends and loved ones!!
Great place. Clean
The reclining seats are really nice in the IMAX.
Is really good.. I love the IMAX, they need to update the theater but is a good place
Seating is decent. Snack counter was out if the promotional cups and the junior mints were melted into one large clump. The snack counter is the priciest part of going to the movies I expect everything to be fresh and of decent quality at the minimum for the excessive price
Nice reclining seats, very comfy. Minus one star for all the afs that played before the movie. Green Book was a great movie!
Easy self serve ticketing. Comfortable seats. Great theater!
The new reclining seats with the footrest are awesome.
Seats are amazing, they make moviegoing experience very comfortable.
To have the nerve to charge 8 bucks for a strawberry milkshake that has nothing to do with strawberries or milkshake.
Cinemagic does a great job. I especially appreciate the employees in Saco going the extra mile with my requests.
Nice place to go the stuff are great and they help you with what you need for the movie
Theatres are fine, but avoid getting Ottos at the Saco location if you were planning to take it in the theatre. There is no signage stating pizza by the slice is not allowed in the theatre that I could see, and no one mentioned it when I bought the pizza or brought it into the lobby through the connecting entrance. It was obvious that this was something that happened often as they were looking out for it, after you buy the pizza of course. From the non-response (stone silence actually) I got when I suggested a sign advising this, my guess is that they are fine with the status quo.
Comfy seats, lots of room, service was good.
Nice place to watch movies but every time Ive ordered the popcorn it has had a burnt flavor to it.
Great I Max theater with recliner chairs
Awesome Place to see movies
Lets go to the Movies! Always Fun for the Whole Family n Friends...
It was great 5 stars
Love seeing movies on the huge IMAX screen
Its good to remind myself why I dont go to the movies, as a family of 6. Way to pricey, $100 for 6 tickets and water bottles. Id much rather have stayed home and watch a movie on my 55 inch TV with surround sound stereo.
I am wheelchair bound and this is the first theater that is completely accessible. Very friendly staff. Had some complications with the start time and then starting the wrong movie but had a great time either way. Prices are a bit high.
Very nice theater, modern and clean! The picture was amazing and I really enjoyed having the option of buying my tickets from an automated kiosk as opposed to having to wait in line when I was already late for my movie! I will absolutely return to this theater no question!
Super comfortable and good prices.
Got more movie passes for Christmas. ;)
Expensive as any movie theater but overall a good experience. The new leather recliner seats are pretty sweet, huge upgrade over the old ones.
Studio 8 did not turn the lights off during the movie. They were dim, but if you sit in the back 2 rows you still get the lights in you eyes.
Clean and comfortable operating reclining chairs. This place is way better than the Portland ones....it doesnt stink like bathrooms and dirty diapers!
Some of the theaters are great, and some are suuuuper super tiny.We went down to see Ant Man & The Wasp the other day and sat in theater 8, which was ridiculously small. They have little kiosks that you can use to purchase tickets without having to stand in the ticket line.Sometimes the concessions are extremely slow. Management is good to customers if you should need them for anything.
Expensive concessions, good location, comfortable seats
If you cant catch a movie theater in Portland or Portsmouth, this is a good spot in between. The seats were comfortable, prices were fair and service was fast. The lobby could use a refresh, but you dont come here for the lobby experience - the 2D theater experience was fine.
Was 5*.Clean, best pull back seats. Movie fantastic as well.Atmosphere welcoming
Raise you hand if you came for end game, my hand was raised but after my experience Im never coming back again. Ok so end game just came out the parking lot was packed, Im fine with this because lets be honest we all want to see that hunk Tony stok as thanos, wish he would blast my with that metal fist, oh Im bad. Ok well back on track Im walking in and here some moms talking about ottos pizza, are you kidding me you came here for pizza, I was furious because the rest of us are hear to watch people get end gamed. Ok what ever, I walk in and get my ticket, I feel a bit naughty and indulge my self in some popcorn, OH IM BAD! Get to door, the place was darker then day lights and I had no clue were my seat was, and i couldnt find my ticket because I lost it in the popcorn, and between the butter and cornels it was lost and probably eaten. I stubble thru hoards of people getting yelled at the hole tine to sit down, and finally find a seat when what the heck Im in the wrong room. So I get up, remember Im getting bood at. I just yelled back, Im watching end game ya big meanys! Finally I find the right room and get a seat. Oh it was amazing, whats not amazing is the girl behind be munchen on her popcorn like the shes the only one in the world. The movie ends, and with it I bust. Amazing experience and will come back soon.
The chairs are amazing.
Been enjoying this place of movies for years!! Thanks for great memories and many more.. only thing I don’t agree is food prices. Staff is always friendly! The sound system is a plus!
Saw yesterday on 7/27 and it was unbelievably fabulous!!
I am writing this review as a matter of principle - although I thoroughly enjoyed seeing A Space Odyssey in IMAX, I left feeling I would not return to this particular theatre. The people working there were nice enough but after I spent $16 on a ticket and $8 on popcorn, I was informed that I could not have a cup of water... which is really outrageous and makes quite clear that the management is not concerned with their customers, nor customer service, but only with making money. Cant knock off too many stars because everything else was fine but such an insensitive response to other people never earns high stars from me.
Nice big comfortable reclining chairs and decent prices ($9.50). Excellent sound.
I love the comfortable seats
Very clean as you walk in. The movie seats can use a little updating. The manager on shift was just wonderful. She was very helpful at all times.
Nice theater, but long lines to enter as kiosk not working.
Lady that runs place tried running me over with car
Food service line is quick and ticket purchase easy. Comfortable seating.
Just moved to Saco. Went here to see Halloween. Little pricey at concessions but theatre was clean, image and audio were both great. Would be nice if lights dimmed during previews.
O-M-squee...the new IMAX stadium is worth every penny to see a movie in. Reserved seats, reclining seats, and plenty of room. The stadium seating was amazing my two kids didnt have someones head blocking their view.
Always very clean and awesome picture. Sound is way too loud though no matter where you sit (in IMAX); and although theres a lot of snack options, the prices are outrageous.
