Historic place to visit. When in Ruston, one should try to go here. And if possible, watch a performance. The theatre has retained most of its original structure and is quite beautiful. One can also see upstairs the section that was segregated for minorities during the Jim Crowe era, and also the separate stairs from the side of the theatre on the outside. I would wish for them to have a concessions / beverage stand, but otherwise this place is quite wonderful to visit.

. The theater is a good example of the type of venue Americans routinely went to to see movies until the mid to late 1960s. The interior restoration is minimal which adds to the charm and authenticity. The neon theater clock could have been straight out of 1947. The lack of fake touches indicates restraint and excellent taste throughout. The productions are superb, even for a University town. All around this is a gem.

I have always LOVED the Dixie!! The Groundhog Day festivities were a great opportunity to support its upkeep and share the venue with my family without having to get all theaterfancy (;AMAZING POPCORN TOO!Hope to see more events like this in the future!

A real gem for Ruston. Local directors, musicians, actors. Always good. Need to address lobby/restroom flow eventually and need to run shows more than just one weekend.

A group of us saw Oklahoma! last week. It was just wonderful! Who would have thought that a little ol town like Ruston would have such talent??!OK, it wasnt like seeing a Broadway show, but the two male and two female leads all had very good voices! This little theatre really gave a bang-up night of entertainment!
