Easy hike with beautiful views of Rumford, Andover, and adjacent towns when the weather is clear. Late summer hikes offer blueberries ready to be picked right off the bush!
While it is a fairly difficult hike, the view from the top is absolutely beautiful, you can see the peaks of surrounding mountains, its also quite flat at the top which makes it a terrific place for picnics, I would not recommend bringing young children that cannot walk on their own as it is quite a long walk, the trail being a total of 5.8miles (2.9 up 2.9 down), its quite rocky in some areas and the stones like to shift under your feet when coming down the mountain so I also would not recommend the hike for anyone with ankle issues, there is a porta potty at the base of the mountain where you park your car.
