Always enjoy going here, this was my 1st time here since the shutdown & even though social distancing was happening it was still enjoyable.
Alot of laughs, great comedy big crowd good drinks. Strawberry Daiquiri was yummy!!!
I did a show here before and they love me told me too come back I think about really doing stand up comedy
Well known performers are listed on web pages to let you who is going to be there. There is food and drinks to enjoy too.
Enjoyed the show and appreciated the plan in place for the safety of everyone during these times
Ive been here a couple times for comedy shows. Always have some great comics, good selection of drinks and friendly wait staff. Only reason Im giving a 4 is because they try to get as many people in there as possible. The seating is jam packed and both times Ive been there I havent been comfortable where I sat. Prepare to get comfortable with some strangers.
Get there early so you can sit up front. I laughed the whole time.
The comedy Castle is fine. If you go as a group of four, you might get squeezed on a small table next to each other, in a row, across from stranger, rather than in a more comfortable atmosphere across from each other. You get scolded immediately on putting your phone on silent and not laughing or talking too loudly. However the staff is very friendly and the drink service is quick.
Staff are helpful, prompt, and have a great sense of humor. The comedy castle knows how to book a good show.If you like live comedy, this is the place to be.
Seating is hard to tell if you are in the correct seat. Drink menu could have prices... Rob Schneider was okay, he a few good jokes, the opening comedian was not funny at all
You may have to wait outside for a few minutes before the show starts. No big deal though. Place is pretty big inside, but tables are tiny. They serve drinks, but I saw no food. When I went it was the finale of a contest. About 10 or 12 comedians. A few were really good, a few were decent. My least favorties still had their moments. I was shocked at the 1st and 2and place winners, as I thought they werent nearly the best. My friends agreed. Anyway, I would definitely go again. It was a lot of fun.
It was clean! Staff was wonderful and engaging. The comedians were excellent and they even had photo opportunities! Definitely made our Birthday celebration even more memorable!
Just had my first comedy club experience here. It was well organized and the servers were fantastic. Wish there was a bit more to the food options.
Went with a group of family for our youngest brothers 18th bday. Never been to a comedy club, but because of my first experience here we will defiantly be back. From the time we walked in to the time we left it was amazing! The servers here are better then most restaurants and bars. Never stopped laughing. Parking was very easy and cheap. Drinks and food are more then affordable.. Seating was a little cramped. But between the service the staff and all the good times we had the seating was nothing to complain about. Me and the wife already made plans to come back next weekend! Thank you comedy castle for the memories and great times!
Always have a fun time here, they always have solid acts. However, this place has been open long enough, and seemingly successful enough, to provide more comfortable seating than they do. They pack everybody in like sardines, and the chairs are awful. Id rather sit on the floor. Im always excited to see my favorite comic coming to town, but I absolutely dread going to see them here because I know its going to be an evening of discomfort.
Great show, went twice now. Both times had issues with the stone cold creepy old man security guard, but outside of that the place was great and the comedians were funny. If the old creepy weird dude went away it would be a 5 star all day
Want a fun night out on the town? Look no further than The Comedy Castle. Possibly the funniest acts in town. Never disappointed. Never.
So fantastic! Great atmosphere, service, and comedians. I really like how they reminded everyone to be courteous to the other guests. We will be back!
Affordable national acts come through here regularly and ticket prices are extremely reasonable. Valet parking is fast, drinks are good and not too pricey, and staff is friendly. Great time here for everyone!
Walked right in and was shown to our table. Drink prices werent bad. Had soon amazingly good popcorn, of all things. Watched a great show of three comedians headlined by the funniest guy Ive ever seen Brad Williams. This is not a knock on Mark Ridleys, but more of a knock on Royal Oak. Do something about the parking situation. You cant expect people to come when they cant find a place to park.
Great atmosphere for a comedy club. Even though I was sitting about as far back as I could because I am horrible at planning ahead and buy tickets last minute. I still could hear and see everything perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
One of the best comedy clubs in America!
This place has had many notable names perform on the stage, and many more to come. The show was great and the service was as well. The owners are also nice people; last year my brother was late to his birthday party. He is disabled and his care staff wasnt able to get him to the show on time. The owner sent complimentary tickets to my brother so he can make the next show. Great customer experience.
Great show... attentive managers...only thing that was a downfall was the wait to get drinks. Maybe needed more staff on so we didnt have to wait so long in between.
Saw a great show on Saturday featuring Steve Lind and Bob Phillips. Thank you Ridley’s for featuring great local talent. These guys were great and it was a great venue. I would recommend these guys to anyone who enjoys laughing from start to finish. Great guys and a great place.
Was there last Saturday to see John Heffron. Great experience. Everything moved smoothly getting in. Wait staff was fantastic. Talent was very funny. John Heffron had a whole new show since I last saw him there and he was just as funny as ever. 5 Stars all around.
It was a very fun and affordable ($10/person) thing to do! It was far more enjoyable than seeing a movie. All of the comedians were very entertaining, def 18+ though. The food selection was limited to burger, chicken strips, quesadillas and fries so if you want more than that, eat first.
Great place to perform! Crowds and service always great. Nice place to end the weekend and get away from the world for 90 minutes. #Laugh
Many years since last visit. Experience was quite nice. Service staff did a great job handling the numerous requests. Performances were great too. Good time had by all in my party.
The show and wait staff were great, but the seating sucks. The table was only 2 ft wide and my knees were in between someone elses legs across from me and the chairs are touching backs to each other. It would have to be someone I REALLY wanted to see before I go back
They dont serve hot food anymore,I Love The show but would like to be able to purchase a hot meal
Laughed the whole time .. great prices at 18 a person on a regular night and drinks are brought to you. Well worth every penny!! I keep going back!!
This place was amazing. Kind of in a rundown area, but dont let that fool you. Inside is so inviting and safe with all of the bouncers around. The waitresses are super sweet and always make sure youre taken care of.
Always great shows!!! Waitress was attentive however I think she was the only one for the whole room. This place needs more than one waitress on open mike night.
We had a great time. The staff was friendly and the show hilarious. Highly recommend.
Ive been out for Wednesday night open mic night and it is always a lot of fun. It makes me want to give it a try some day.
Of you need a few laughs after a long winter week, great place to come!
I saw Dry Bar Comedy this evening at Mark Ridleys Comedy Castle — it is a rated PG (okay, maybe PG-13) comedy tour. I was quite entertained. The comedians were funny without hurling expletives. This venue holds a lot of history. If you haven’t been in a while cats and act here. It’s a good night out!
Quality place for a laugh. 2nd and 3rd acts are almost always excellent. And a decent amount of the time the opener is solid as well. The burger comes from the brewery next door and is delicious.
Good place for a night out. Food comes from the brewery next door so might as well eat there first or after if you plan on dinner. Decent assortment of beverages. Staff is friendly.
Great intimate venue. Excellent comedians. Lots of nearby parking.
Good comedy and service. The only reason for the three stars is because of the chairs. Super uncomfortable. There as hard as rock. I would rather stand up.
Top quality comedians and staff, always a comfortable place to go and see great comedy.
Comedy classes are inexpensive and you get more with what you pay for. Excellent!!
We saw Kathleen Madigan on 10/12/19. It was a sold out show. We really enjoyed the show. She is so funny! The staff at this club is great - very professional.
Such a great place but.. The host or whoever starts and introduces the real comedians, made some messed up jokes regarding handicapped people. The audience didnt seem pleased, neither was I, but the main acts were good. Waitresses are fast and friendly, would definitely come back.
The show was great! Staff is really friendly. Only complaint I have is that everything was really cramped.
Love this place. Especially amateur night. Cant beat it.
Reasonably priced and fun night out! Always a great time!
Awesome place to go with groups or couples. The Comedy Castle always brings in top notch comedians to die laughing over. The service and the drinks are good too. A great place to change up the entertainment for the evening.
Jackie Fabulous ️ She had us laughing from start to finish
Very nice venue and you can see some big names come through. Park at the VFWs lot across the street for cheap and easy parking.
Excellent staff very attentive great comedians and a very relaxed environment with good people if you dont like small tables then my suggestion is sit in the back
This is THE comedy club in metro Detroit. The environment is perfect for a good time and great laughs. There is a small bar before entering the club to help bring forth the internal laugh tracks. Wait staff is quick and efficient to let the consumption continue without interrupting the fun. A great place with a strong environment to best deliver what you are there for: a great time.
Went for an open mic night to support a friend. Cheap entertainment on a Wednesday night. Mix of a couple pro comedians, amateurs with some practice and a few first timers. Worth the price of admission for sure. Drink prices are good and the food looked decent. If you like stand up i highly recommend it.
Great atmosphere and incredible staff. Everyone went out of their way for us when they found out it was our first time visiting a comedy club. This place is a definite recommend. Not to mention the talent was great the night we were there.
All the employees at Mark Ridleys Comedy Castle that I interacted with were very nice and helpful. Gary Meikle was hilarious and I will go back to see him next year for sure! He is so down to Earth and so kind. It was a pleasure meeting him after the show and getting a hug from him.
I was told to not engage. Which is basically saying shut up unless the comedian is actually talking to you. I didnt say anything offensive and the rest of the audience enjoyed it and played along. Honestly, if Im invited again I would seriously consider going. If anything, the bar is nice.
Best comedian.. great night..fundraiser. Happy they hosted love the furniture bank..
We saw Dave Attell here and he murdered!!! Good atmosphere but snack foods and drink options are really slacking. Need to step it up a little.
Great spot, decent drink prices and the headliners are always worth seeing.
Say Kyle Kinane there. He refused to come out for a meet and greet (not like there were a lot of fans).Other than that the place was awesome! Good views and seats. Good for a smaller or less popular comedian.Cozy environment and nice managers
Used a Groupon on an off nite, and they were hilarious. And I know funny, trust me. Good bar too.
-Very friendly & helpful staff-Comfortable & welcoming-Tickets, drinks, and food are affordable(Offers 1 free alcoholic beverage per customer, however there is a charge for non-alcoholic drinks)Overall Experience: Wonderful! Both enjoyable, and of course, hilarious!
Usually a great place to see a show. Unfortunately due to the storms in the area the night before the building had limited power. It would have been great if they had warned people ahead of time that they had minimal power which caused them to have no ac and no food. I dressed according to the temperature the last time I had seen a show there a month earlier and was very uncomfortable. I also did not eat prior to the show as I planned on having their excellent food so I was starvingby the time the showwas done. It was great that they didnt cancel the show but a warning of the conditions would have been nice.
Boring drink menu offset by stiff pours and excellent comedy. A good time was had by all.
Went with a group to celebrate a 50th birthday party. Norm Stolz killed it. Had a blast. Thank you
Rating a 4 only because they lost power last night due to the storm so instead of our headliner Drew Lynch canceling his Awesome show! We instead had to sweat it out in this room, all of us fanning ourselves with the Mark Ridleys Comedy Castle Menu, and other assortments of things fastened into fans lol. We all had a great time, and it was a great show, just hot. Im thinking mini battery powered fan next time just in case lol.
Excellent staff, courteous and attentive. Great drinks and wonderful entertainment!
Nice location. Usually lots of funny comics who come here. Food and drink are a little pricy for what you get. Also they seem very strict here with there guest. Too up tight.
Saw Dave Attell and it was awesome. Great wait staff.
Waited 40 yrs, not disappointed. GM William introduced himself to me, great crew. Good drinks too.
Very cool atmosphere with speedy drink service! The comedians were great and the producers kept things moving. Im glad I checked it out.
Great location for a date night, if you go try the nachos!!!
Great selection of good comedians. Always a good time.
Been here several times over the years and it is hands down the best place for comedy! The menus could be a little more full when it comes to food but you are not really there to have dinner at the same time.
Fun, great show, but felt a bit like a banquet hall
Just saw John Crist (Christian comedian) who was hilarious. The venue wasnt what I was expecting, but nonetheless did the trick. Food was good, seating was good.
This review is on the establishment itself, the comedians shouldnt count towards their rating. Our waitress was overwhelmed which is fine, I understand its busy and you have a lot of tables. I would never be rude or complain about that. BUT when my table is placing our order and youre constantly rolling your eyes and asking seriously then youre just taking your emotions out on your customers... After getting our drinks in another waitress brought them to us. She starts passing them out and calling titos and soda vodka on the rocks we tell her no one ordered those and she starts arguing with us. We tell her what we ordered and she said yeah then put them down, turns out were wrong vodka on the rocks is vodka soda... Yeah okay. Then theres an extra drink no one ordered on the tray, we told her that and she said well youre already charged for it, it says so here so yes you did. Oh thanks, we all have our drinks, theres a 1 drink per order rule apparently, but yet we somehow have an extra? Yeah were wrong screw us right. So we take it and its literally a cup of vodka with ice in it, oh weird so the vodka on the rocks was exactly what we thought it was.Service being slow wouldnt be an issue, but the 2 waitresses we dealt with were so stupidly rude I cant give this place a good rating. If you do go, because the comedians that have shows are usually funny, buy drinks at the bar and avoid the waitresses. Wouldnt want them to get upset because youre asking them to do their job.
Had an amazing time the venue was nice the staff was accommodating oberall id come back over and over.
The tables are too close from each other. Which is little inconvenient. Also I hate places which do not tell you price of each item on menu. How hard is it to add $5/$6/$7 next to menu item. I always wonder how much x beer is vs. y.Comedy part is good. The local artists are alright but the touring artists are generally good.
Bob Phillips killed it the other night! Steve Lind was good, also. You need to serve better food!
Enjoyed the Drew Lynch set on Sunday afternoon. There was a partial power outage after the storms, so it was hot and stuffy for the close-to full house, without air conditioning. Kudos to Drew for not canceling and to the wait staff for doing a great job in challenging circumstances.
We had so much fun seeing John Crist! Everyone was packed in like sardines though, so be aware if you purchase tickets at one of the long tables, you will be back to back with someone! Also they are not able to scan your tickets on your phone (they dont have the tech to do it), so print off your tickets so you dont have to wait in the line at the ticket window (they print them for you) and you will be seated quicker.*There was no sign for the Valet lot so we accidentally parked there, then had to pay ($6). The valet told us their sign was stolen after the show the valet was ridiculously unorganized! We stood at the valet stand with out ticket while they just grabbed random tickets from the crowd. We finally just asked for our keys and walked to our car!Overall, we would return to see John Crist again someday Thanks for the laughs!!!
Amazing venue! I loved it! We saw John Crist there last night! Amazing place!
Very funny place to attend! Staff is nice acts are great.
The only reason for the three is because your experience will entirely depend on the talent that night, which has become hit or miss. The wife and I used to go all the time, but they went through a stretch where the talent was absolutely terrible. Weve just recently started back and the past two times the talent was great and had a lot of fun, my suggestion would be to look up the talent for the night you plan to attend. Other than talent selection I would rate a 4.
I love this place but it needs food:-)
Service was good during the show. The comedians did great. Did not eat here but it definitely looking like simple food. Would definitely come back for a good laugh.
Very funny, would definitely come back
Great time. Great drinks, clean and well organized. The show was awesomely funny too!
The top spot in metro Detroit for national and top level local comedy acts. There is no such thing as a bad night at the Comedy Castle. Full bar with no drink minimum, food available as well. It is a great room to see hilarious people do there thing. Wednesday night is open mic and there are shows Thurs - Saturday. If you need live comedy in Metro Detroit you go here.
