It’s great place to visit. As claimed it’s one of the largest penguin conservation centre in world. Very nicely maintained & presented. Could observe oldest penguin in centre 35 years old, breeding season area in centre. Nice underwater tunnels to observe penguin. Nice stares to give you experience of going through sea full of glaciers. Must visit place in Detroit zoo.

I heart the penguin exhibit. Its so good. The multi tier setup and explanation if artic life are super cool! Kids love it, adults love it! If aliens invaded, they would give it at least 3 out 5.

My husband and I did a penguin mingle as our Christmas gift to each other this past December. It was very expensive compared to other zoos we looked into but well worth the price. It was just the two of us in the room with the zoo keepers, they only let people into the room that you bring in your group. None of the penguins are forced into the room, its just an open door off their enclosure, so none of them seem stressed or like they dont want to be there. We got nearly an entire hour with the penguins and were allowed to sit on the floor with them and pet and feed them. The staff were very generous about letting us take pictures/use our go pro, and took some pictures of us too. Definitely worth it for any penguin lovers, much better program than any of the other zoos I researched. Cant recommend enough.

Had a ton of fun with all the kiddos and of course Jenifer and Sarah! Weather turned out perfect! KIDS HAD A BLAST!

There were a lot of different places inside the building to view the penguins at and there was a lot of penguins present.

Amazing place, early 2020 closed for reconstruction, but after that, must-see whenever you are nearby

So fun! There are several types of penguins in the conservatory. It was fun to watch them interacting and moving around each other. There is a tunnel to walk through that gives a great view of swimming penguins. Really enjoyed that perspective! Enjoyed the available benches there too!

This place was amazing! Always loved it as a child and being an adult is no different .

Amazing! Knowledgeable staff, great views of the penguins above and below the water. They are building nests at this time of year and they are provided with pebbles to collect for that purpose. Its wonderful to see them carrying the pebbles around in their beaks!

We ti.ed it just right it was feeding time and it was so neat to watch. My grandson loved it.

Penguins... Whats not to love about this? This was the first time I can recall being here and it is my understanding that it was redone and the previous incarnation smelled bad. This did not stink. Nice viewing areas and the 360° projected boat thing was really cool. Even get a little authentic ocean spray every now and then.

Took my 4 grandkids and my youngest son there. Take time to read about the ship and learn some history there. The most beautiful exhibit Ive seen. Very well done and the viewing is fantastic. Highly recommend going to see it.

Best exhibit at the zoo, and one of the best zoo exhibits Ive ever seen. You can tell a lot of thought and planning was put into it. The views are great, its super clean and fun!

We love the Detroit zoo. The new penguin center is nice because you can see the animals from under the water too. But my 5 year olds favorite part is the 4D interactive boat. He loves to feel the rain.

Its quite nice, the penguins are very well cared for. However, no Emperor Penguins, how do you have a penguin exhibit without Emperors? Disappointing.

New building featuring a penguin walk through. Come face to face with penguin living and swimming from a sheet of glass away. Walk down and view underwater creatures through boat windows, whale/squid/dolphin. Enjoyable for the whole family!

There are so many cute little penguins. There are always at least a few that are very active for my son to especially enjoy on our frequent visits.

What I dont like about the newer Pequinarium is that you have to wait in line to see the peqins on the top floor. Not as much window area as before. Or go down 3 floors to see them swimmingA lot of walking inside . I like the old one and wish they had updated it.
