This is the best Fish store I’ve ever been to! It’s honestly mesmerizing! The staff was so nice and helpful and There’s no denying I’m coming back. If your looking for an amazing quality fish store with Fresh salt and axolotls (and a lot of rare shrimp) go visit here! I love it, and will keep supporting it!

This store and ownership is AMAZING!! Who knew all that you can do with an aquarium...LARGE and small! My son LOVES coming here. At first I fought it but after he finally convinced to come with him...Im in LOVE with it too! The only thing better than the experience is the ownership whos active in the store. Am new to the aquarium world but wanted to check this out and ask questions. This store is so clean and organized. I was greeted immediately upon entering and the service here is great! I at no point felt like no one was there to help me. Employees were throughout the store and eager to answer any questions. They were not pushy at all. Tanks were organized by fresh and saltwater varieties. So many beautiful fish! I was educated on caring for my aquatic animal and also maintenance. Things have certainly changed from my WalMart goldfish and glass bowl days! There was a young teenage girl who helped me and she was more mature and bright than people my age I know.Even if you are not in the market to buy a fish I would still recommend stopping in and checking it out. When I am ready to buy I will definitely be coming here!

Love that there is an owner operator that loves helping her customers. The whole staff was exceptionally knowledgeable and pleasant. The store is immaculate and is by far the best place I’ve been in metro Atlanta. I drove 15 miles to get their after the store was recommended to me and I couldn’t be happier that I did. This is the only place I’ll shop for my aquatics from now on. The staffs recommendations saved me hours of time.

Great LFS that is easy to get to even if youre not from Roswell. Very easy going vibe, Ashley (the owner) and the staff were genuinely friendly. We visited looking for some hardscape pieces to put into a new tank we will be setting up and found a nice piece of ohko (dragon) stone and seiryu that we purchased. I recently joined AAAA and were referred to this shop by numerous other members. I can see why people speak so highly of the store and the staff. I didnt even have to ask for a bit of water to wet the rocks to verify how they would look wet, Ashley overheard my conversation and handed me a spray bottle. Will defintely go back again!

The store is always looking nice and clean. Well stocked especially with their freshwater plant selection. Friendly staff that are always willing to help. Love going here even if its just to look at the axolotls.

Staff is very Knowledgeable, polite, and eager to help. Store also has a pretty decent selection. The only problem is the prices here are 2 times higher than at other aquarium stores in the area for the same exact same type of fish. Just a heads up, this place is expensive.

The employees were nice. However some of their fish had ick which contaminated the rest of the tanks. Plus the tanks were not the cleanest. And the store just looked worn. The pictures are misleading as well

This store has the biggest selection of aquatic plants I have seen in an aquatic store. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. They have a vast array of fresh and saltwater selections. Be warned, once you go there, you will return! (And that is a great thing!)

There was not a single employee wearing a mask in the store. Absolutely incredible given Georgia has been trending steadily up all June.Id be happy to come back and amend my review once this store actually protects its employees and its customers. Until then, I wont be supporting this local business.I wore a mask (Im an ER physician) and I got weird looks from the employees.

Friendly staff and decent prices. The fish and coral looks good. The staff will even feed the fish you are looking to buy if ask. I have been there several times and will be back.

Would highly recommend visiting here. Drove 2 hours to get an Axolotl and left with 3 axolotls instead. The whole staff was so helpful & friendly! Ashley was very knowledgeable and well worth the 2 hour ride! We’ll be back!

My new local fish store. They always have good tropical fish stock for a relatively small location. Prices are higher than big box stores, but fish are definitely healthier and well fed.

This is one of the nicest aquarium pet shops around. I live 30 min away and it is totally worth the drive. The place is clean, the fish and plants are healthy, and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I plan to make this my go to spot.

Old lady who seems to own the place was very curt with us and clearly wanted us out of the store, probably because I am Asian. Wasnt going to leave a review just on that, but cherry barb that she sold us harassed other fish, even after asking if it will gel with the other fish we already have. We asked to bring it back for exchange of another fish. Get this - their policy says I cant exchange for another fish, just another cherry barb. Person on the phone couldnt explain to me why that ridiculous policy is in place, just said she doesnt make the rules. I thought it was better to support local stores, but clearly some dont deserve it.

Neat lfs that has fish I havent seen being sold anywhere else and is super organized. Staff are very pleasant and prices rather reasonable.

The staff was super helpful! I was a bit overwhelmed by the selection and had a hard time deciding what to get. It was definitely worth the drive and so so much better than going to places like Petsmart or Petco; the fish look healthier and happier. I dont usually leave reviews but I felt like I needed to. 10/10 will shop again.

NO RETURN or EXCHANGE POLICY here for fishes at this place, but should be considered if returned within a week, incase of more aggressiveness or an unhealthy fish taken by mistake.Other aquarium stores like Petsmart etc., have around 2 weeks of return policies.Overall a good store to get more variety of tropical fishes.

Went here as a recommendation. I will not return.The sales lady blantally told me a certain type of tank by a reputable manafucturer is not made. Unbeknownst to her I had just left Pure Reef seen the tank, touched the tank, inspected the tank, and seen the tank I was asking about exact same deminsion on the manufacturer website.Its one thing to say ok due the pandemic that tank is available but it will take ab out two months to receive I can respect that, but dont just lie; and please dont judge a book by its cover by saying, you are entering into the territory of purchasing a small boat.Welp, due to the poor service I received I made my small boat purchase at their competitor Pure Reef.Buyer beware.

Well I drive 1 hour and 10 minutes to get there in my day off but let me tell you is worth every minutes, I got from them a sump and water pump, I was having some issues and I went back next day with pics and a video of what was going on, the person behind the counter was awesome, she explained what was wrong and how to fix it, live rocks are amazing my aquarium now is ready for some coral maybe few more fish !! Thanks for your patience with us !! We highly recommend this friendly place !!

We have found our go to fish store! Store is laid out great if you are a beginner, which we are. The staff was super friendly and very helpful to make sure our little ones first aquarium experience was a successful one. As our aquarium grows and we are still in the area, we will be sure to continue going here for all of our aquatic needs.

I’ve been here twice for basic assistance with a new aquarium, and both times the staff treated me like trash. On my first visit I was the only one in the store and still the owner acted like I was taking up too much of her time. I got the same treatment on my second trip, but they were actually busy this time so it was even worse.I guess they are just too busy for my business so I won’t be back.

Great local fish store. Beautiful displays with a wide variety of fish/plants/corals. Decent amount of equipment and all the chemicals, food, and little things you might need. Owners are very helpful and always willing to place a special order if you are looking for something they dont currently have in stock. Definitely my favorite fish store in the Atlanta area.

My mom and I called ahead of time to make sure they had a wide variety for freshwater fish before we try to make this drive to this store. They blonde lady told us yes and didn’t inform us that we had to get a small fish before we could of put a bigger fish in. So we drove there, and took us almost 4 hours to get there. Ny mom was super very unhappy with these people and didnt want to get anything here. I still got two small fishes, but they didnt inform me of what kind of food these fishes eat, or recommend me buying food. We wasted money, huge amounts of gas, and time to come here. We will never ever come back to this store.

I got into fish keeping only a short while ago and of course I’ve experienced a major learning curve. Thankfully Southern Aquatics has been there to help me along the way. Ashley and Taylor are both friendly, super knowledgeable, and 100% always go above and beyond for their customers. The most AWESOME chicks in the bizz. They are always friendly and willing to teach customers how to truly take care of their new wet friends. Absolutely love Ashley, Taylor and the entire staff! They know what they are talking about and always make you feel welcome. Its also the only aquatic store in ATL where the fish are always healthy looking. Its rare to find a place where everyone knows about salt and fresh water. Generally I find most stores focus on salt and stare at you blankly when you ask about fresh.

Called in to talk about planted aquarium products. Seems like a large selection. Johnny answered quickly and walked to the aisle and gave me specifics to their products in stock. Ill be there a minute guys and will give future business as long as your customer service is this great.Update: 4/20/19 went in to the store and made a minor trade and one of the owners was helping me with picking out two fish. I told her two, but my 3 yo daughter said 3. I got home and found three and wasnt charged for the third. My daughter was thrilled to see the third. Not only this but they make sure you know how to acclimate your fish and are honest about their fish stock. Ill will keep returning.

Straight to the point. You pay more than some fish stores but less than ordering with shipping and medicating. Fish are noticably healthier than a Petco or PetSmart while offering a far greater variety! Knowledgeable and helpful! Very cool displays inside as well!

Good little local fish store. Tons of options here for both fresh and saltwater. They offer all the common types of fish and corals with some very unique selections every few weeks. Their selections of aquariums and equipment is also very good.

I drove 20 miles to visit this place after finding their Instagram account. I was looking for a particular type of shrimp for my tank. Not only did they have the shrimp I was looking for, but the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks So much guys, I’ll definitely be back again!

Southern Aquatics is the only LFS(local fish store) that I will go to. The owners, Ashley and Taylor are phenomenal. Excellent service, great variety and top of the line quality fish/plants/equipment.

Attentive staff, good selection of fresh and salt water fish and inverts. Lots of hardscape materials. All the animals looked very healthy.

The staff is incredibly helpful and so friendly. My boyfriend and I aren’t the most experienced fish keepers so they gave us some tips on feeding and acclimating (we have 30 fish already and apparently we’ve been acclimating them all wrong bc of bad advice elsewhere :( ) we purchased a platinum angelfish and two juuli Cory catfish that are all happy and healthy (pictured in our tank)! Can’t wait to come back when we add a saltwater tank to our home collection :) the place is clean, bright, and overall beautiful. It feels very homey when you walk in because it seems like everyone there is there to help and they all look happy to be there! The very friendly dog upon entrance was a plus too ;) it’s a little more on the pricey side, but you’re paying for beautiful, healthy fish, not PetSmart fish, so it’s totally worth it.

Bought few aquatic plants. Its expensive.Plants from here introduced green hair algae into my aquarium. So make sure to dip the plants in hydrogen peroxide or potassium permanganate and clean before planting.Apart from that this may be the best place to find every possible thing you need for your aquarium.

First time visiting the store today and LOVED IT! I was blown away by the selection offered, cleanliness of the store, and the AMAZING staff! Absolute best selection of in Atlanta for all your reef, freshwater, planted or shrimp tanks! Even had a few reptiles! Do not think twice about visiting Southern Aquatics, you WILL NOT REGRET IT! They have given great advise for what we needed to start the tank and how to maintain the tank properly and testing the water and helping us make adjustments along the way as we add fish and plants

Overpriced for no reason. Other fish stores definitely have lower prices with the same fish. Whenever I go there to buy fish, the owner keeps the best looking fish for themselves which is understandable but gives me fish that looks the worst compared to the others. I cant shop with owners who dont want the best for their customers. They do keep their fishes healthy which is probably the only reason I dont completely dislike them.
