Capitol Gun Club is fantastic. The first range in Sacramento area where you do not have to be nervous about individuals with records sizing up your guns while you shoot and be nervous about leaving or entering the facility. Joe and Molly are always friendly and take the time to help you and provide feedback when asked. Best of the Best!

I’m very surprised to see the negative reviews. This place rocks! By far the best range in the area. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. I’ve never had to wait to shoot, I can use my own ammo and it’s the only place where I can practice holster and rapid fire drills. I’ve worked armed security for many years and have been to many ranges and this one is the best. Not having to deal with the “range commandos” and idiots is well worth the membership. I’m so happy to have found this club.

This is a friendly happy community made for everyone who loves guns. Those who put one star I would like to say, if you go on their website all member information is there. If you want a membership you should call with the intentions of getting a membership. If you just arrive unexpectedly without calling us or letting us know first we will not be able to help you, not to mention you will not be able to enter because you dont have a key card. We are kind to everyone except for stupid people. Joe is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I will proceed to go to this club until the day I die.

Very surprised to see all the negative comments on here. Definitely doesnt reflect the business of the staff. Admittedly it can get a little hot in the summer. It is a converted warehouse into a large indoor shooting range. There is no way around that. Staff has worked hard to provide additional airflow and crank up the AC to the max.I have been a member since before grand opening and never had any issues or concerns. I have taken a half dozen guests there, and the service and experience has always been top notch. Participated in advanced training courses and ccw courses, and have purchased two firearms through the shop so far without a hitch. Plus as a member you can go and shoot your new gun during your waiting period!Great place, friendly staff, and worth the membership fees.

I purchased a membership but am not happy with it. The range is supposed to be air conditioned but I found it to be uncomfortably hot on a 90 -100 degree day. Range target holders use magnets that dont always hold the target. They often fall off in transit. The trolley runs on cables (rather than rails) which are not very stable and a little cheesy. When you run a target out, you have to wait a couple of minutes for the target to stop swinging. Very annoying. And, members are given magnetic cards to enter the range that must be swiped TWICE to get in. When youre juggling a range bag full of guns and ammo, targets, etc., having to hold a card and swipe it twice is just plain insane. Lots of little things give a less than professional impression such as a poor selection of targets for sale, thin staffing, store wasnt open when I have been in, etc. Management is touchy when poor AC is mentioned. I was first told that they were increasing the AC tonnage in July then when I asked a manager higher in the food chain, I was told that wasnt going to happen and a few other very rude things I wont repeat here. Really. And, Im a member and a customer. So...... enter at your own risk would by my advice at least until I see some positive changes here.

Best gun club in the greater Sacramento area. Very professional and knowledgeable about the gun industry. The young guy with the glasses was extremely nice he needs a raise.

Ive been a member here since it opened. I find some of the reviews on here shocking. I have never been to a gun range that made my wife feel as welcome as this place. Doesnt have those pretenders running around with massive guns on show strapped to their belts wearing full combat gear. I have purchased 3 guns from the this place in the last year, all delivered, no problem at all. Everyone is background checked and safety trained which is one of the most important things you can ask for. No accidental discharge bullet holes in the tables and walls like there were at some of the other local ranges I could mention. All in all, Im glad I joined this place and anticipate being a member for a very long time.

These people are rude and arrogant. The owner hung up on my son-in-law when he called to see about a membership for me. He had asked what the benefits of membership were, and was told to go look online. When my son-in-law explained that he couldnt get to a computer right then, the owner told him You arent the kind of people we want here as members, and HUNG UP ON HIM! Im so glad we found out sooner, than later, that this is not the kind of gun club we want to be in. Save your money. They can save all of their fancy stair cases, fire places, and ridiculousness for people who feel the need to pretend.

If I could give zero stars I would. The Owner, JOE DEASER, sold me a pistol 7 months ago online but never delivered the firearm. Now, after 40 emails has now began to completely ignore me and has never issued a refund. Forced me to take him to small claims court. Arrogant and dishonest is now how I would describe Joe. Dont waste your time and energy with this man or his establishment.My last reply from the owner Joe was:You may find this hard to believe but there are other things going on in the world. I really do think your a cool guy and I will send you a check next week but I am in DC dealing with much bigger issues than this.I think that pretty much says it all.

Not sure if the steroids guy is an owner or an employee, but hes rude. I wouldnt bother with this overpriced scam. Lincoln gun range isnt too much farther, and you dont need an appointment. Save your money.

NO PROBLEMS FROM JOE OR ANYBODY ELSE AT THE CLUB. They run a tight ship and a much needed business and Im a customer who doesnt seek perfection eg. wires, instead of rails (?) or temperature not being cozy enough for me (please!). These are actually complaints about a gun club?What I seek is excellent service and a safe place for my wife and kids to learn how to use firearms. Im tired of creepy, well armed guys checking my wife out at the other ranges and tired of having to watch my daughter from the moment she leaves my side to when she returns. I can leave my guns in my bag and walk away knowing that the other members have been screened and do NOT have a criminal record and will not steal my weapons. Seems to me that if Joe put you on hold there was a very good reason. Oh yeah BTW thanks CGC for installing the locking devices on the entrances. This isnt elitism, its common sense.

The place is very nice, however I am not a member, and because I am not a member the staff was very rude to me, practically stuck up acting high and mighty, and because of this I wont consider becoming a member.
