Ordered the 24 Plant Package am very happy with the diversity I received and for the price of ~$3/plant I would highly recommend! The 24 pack was perfect for my 55 gallon and most of the plants have completely filled in or already grown to the top of the tank after only two weeks. You may receive different species from packages (dependent on availability), but check out the pictures of my tank pre-planted, planted and 1-week post-planting. I would highly recommend and will order from Modern Aquarium in the future.
I ordered some red root floaters and they are great. New to this floating plant and from others that told me about it so I thought Id give it a go. I received a cup full of them. the roots were very long and the plants had little flowers on them already. I have shrimp and i heard that they are perfect for a shrimp tank and fry to hide in. I put them in 5 of my tanks when the lights were off so as not make the fish think they were being fed. With the roots being long, LOL..it funny to watch the fish look at them and be like what are those! Cant wait for them to get established and grow more on their own.

First off and foremost, EXCELLENT customer service. That to me is the most important quality in a company. Especially in today’s world where you typically have to talk to 5 different recordings and answer 12 questions before actually getting through to someone. At modern aquarium, I was put through immediately to a real person who was helpful, polite, and easy to talk to. The product I ordered was a 3D background for my aquarium, and I was very happy with it. They did and excellent job showcasing it on their website. It was exactly as it was portrayed on their website. And it arrived much earlier than anticipated. All in all, I would and will be doing as much of my aquarium shopping as possible at modern aquarium. Keep up the good work!!
Was planning on ordering some plants. I came across a piece of dragon wood that I liked. I ordered it now as I didn’t know if it would be available when I was ready to order my plants. The piece was very nice for $50, normally over $100. Received it fast, had some shipping issues with the piece. After the Modern Aquarium team seen my initial review, they reached out immediately to make sure I had a 5 star experience! They were more than fair, and I’m nothing but satisfied ! Would definitely not shy away from this company, or shop. Very satisfied, and will order again!
Order some four-leaf clover, and glosso via online ordering system; plants were shipped super-fast from their wholesale partner in Florida, and arrived in NY/NJ area in less than 72 hrs. after shipment. After searching local stores, I knew that those stores must have a supplier where I could get higher quality plants. Through an online search I found Modern Aquarium. High quality items such as reasonably priced “potted” plants, a beautiful small Anubias on driftwood that stays put on the bottom of my tank, 5 Tiger’s Eye snails, and an interesting (real wood!) driftwood piece. The snails all arrived healthy and ready for action, helping me clean the surfaces, even cleaning the algae off the surface of leaves without damaging the leaf. Everything was packed with care to help insure the health of the items. I can’t say enough how happy I am with this purchase! Now planning a second new aquarium...
Modern Aquarium is a great source for aquarium plants. They ship quickly, package the plants well and with care and the plants are amazing! Mine have always came with well established roots and red plants have great color. All the plants Ive gotten are getting new leaves, getting taller, thriving.

Great products! The plants arrived healthy and vibrant. One pack of the hardy plant combo was a nice fill for my fluval spec v. The one thing Id change is that some of the plants only had assorted midground instead of the scientific name but otherwise they were great plants at a great price. Will be buying from them again.

Received my brown moss for $35 yesterday. Asked for a refund or living moss or where I could pick up product locally (Im in Florida and they use local places to help ensure product is fresh). Several emails back and forth all concluding to moss is fine-just use it! Theres something wrong with these people Ill NEVER order from them again

Will never buy from here again, this place is completely full of lies. First off, they do not own their Private nursery. It is only private because it is not open directly to the public. If you check the shipping address, it belongs to Waterscapes Nursery. Further more, I have ordered in the past only to find out the item I ordered was out of stock and was sent something different instead. Also, I was previously emailed and bribed to change a previous review I had made on another account I use. Bribed with pretty much anything that wouldve made me happy!!! I recently called and asked questions like Are your plants locally grown? Do you own the nursery that we receive the plants from? After calling out the employee, there was a short moment of silence then I was rudely hung up on. This place is complete false advertisement, not to mention a friend of mine who use plants from here and had an infestations of worms. In the end was told Its free food for the fish. Horrible!
Ive bought 90% of my aquarium plants here, and they are always fabulous. Bulbs are always hard, and plants are firm. Delivery time is just what they tell you, so youre always getting a consistent package. The staff is also on hand and more than happy to help.

This is the first time I ordered aquarium plants through online store to avoid visiting a store. The shipping and delivery was on time. The plants are okay compared to getting fresh from the local store. I attached the anubias coffeefolia picture to this review as I was expecting it to be larger ( for medium size with a price tag $13.95). I believe the picture will help others with their expectation. No complain on the other plants as they will grow fast to fill the aquarium.

Revising my original review. I was contacted and asked how my experience could be made better. The level of care and customer service exceeded all expectations. They sent me a new tank with new plants. That way I can have a new experience, but not cause any threats to my tank. They were so kind and generous to do this. After over a week of having the new tank setup with 3 different plants, it’s safe to say it’s snail free and amazing! I will update with a photo once I get the decor setup. Good customer service!I ordered snails for my aquarium. Unfortunately, due to the summer heat, they did not survive the shipping. Modern Aquarium agreed to replace them, and waited until we had a cooler stretch of weather to do it. The new snails are doing well.
I ended up having to cancel my order of plants due to an issue with my aquarium that needed resolving before plants could be added. The customer service was wonderfully quick in their response time and took care of it immediately. I will definitely be placing my plant order once I get my aquarium up and running!
The products they sent were top quality. Very healthy, very mature plant. Leaves were all green, the roots were flawless. cant get anything better. This is the 2nd time Ive order a pile of plants from them and in both cases, fantastic service and FANTASTIC quality. Ive been aquascaping for years and Ive not seen any other provider have such mature and healthy plants as Ive seen with MA. Thank you folks, you make my tank look professional. I ordered some Cryptocoryne Wendtii Brown and Corkscrew Vallisneria. It came quickly and efficiently with great communication but neither of them look very healthy, but the roots do look great so I look forward to planting them and giving them a try. Their prices are fantastic so I plan to order from them at least one more time and see how those plants look. *Update* 4 months later the plants are all happy and healthy and have survived a move to a new home. I will DEFINITELY buy from them again =)

I’ve had three orders from Modern aquarium in the last several months and all plants arrived lush and healthy.Two of the plants on my last order had a problem which may or may not of been of my own making. However modern aquarium took care of it and replaced those two plants with plants(Amazon Swords)that were probably the best I’ve ever seen.

After an impulse betta purchase for my child weve dived head first into fishkeeping and are currently working on a 10 gallon planted tank for him and his invertebrate friends. I really wanted some floating plants since he likes to sleep at the surface, but my only local options are big box stores that dont carry floaters. Weve ordered several different plants for the tank including some beautiful red root floaters. The fully aquatic plants all arrived very healthy and hitchhiker free, but I did find some snails hiding in the leaves of the floating plants (its always a good idea to quarantine anything youre planning to add to a tank regardless of the source). I already have my eyes on some different plants for the tank and Im looking forward to creating an underwater jungle.
The plants i received are absolutely gorgeous and healthy even after delay shipment. I had some issue with couple order and Store manager contacted me and resolved it with me with very great attitude and professionalism. I ordered a Fluval Plant 3.0 light at a price lower than Amazon or other aquarium online or brick&mortar stores, but it was out of stock, but I recieved an email alerting me of this and that a shipment was being sent in 2-3 weeks, I didnt need it right away so I said ok. well I got it an email 8 days later saying my light was on the way. So thankful for good customer service and notification...I have already purchased some plants and a bonsai tree for my aquarium..so look at what they have to offer and know you will get good service and questions answered not to mention good quality products... I ordered 5 tiger eye nerite snails. My betta tank was getting super sludgy and gross. Sadly after I cleaned the tank the last time I accidentally killed my previous betta. My new betta has been very active and super responsive to us so I wanted to make sure that I didn’t hurt another fish again. I had snails in my tank before the last betta and it worked out great. I had a rams horn snail and it laid eggs all the time and tried to escape several times as well. The reviews of the nerites were attractive in that they didn’t grow, didn’t multiply and didn’t try to escape. I found this merchant online and I chose them based on their reviews.The price was affordable and their satisfaction was guaranteed. My snails came in a timely manner, but due to where I live, they were stuck at the post office over the weekend. When I opened my box they were packed in plastic bag and a thawed ice pack (still cool when I opened it). I was worried that perhaps they may not have made it being dry in the bag for that long. I went home and let them sit at room temp for an hour and then placed them in the tank. Within minutes and one by one, the nerites began to “wake up” and immediately started to get to work on scrubbing the tank. All 5 are alive and well and in the last 5 days have cleaned the tank well enough that you could never tell it was a gross mess.They are super cute and I enjoy watching them work. My only criticism is that aesthetically they do not look very close in color or shell pattern as they do in the pictures shown online. I was slightly disappointed with this, however everything else has been beyond satisfactory. I am new to nerites so I am unsure if their shells will change over time or if their shells change under the stress of being shipped. I am very happy with my purchase and as I gradually increase my fish tank hobby skills will definitely be ordering from this seller again. Thanks so much!

I ordered plants and received them within a couple of days all the way from the east coast to eastern Arizona! They arrived in great shape and so far theyre doing just fine in my aquarium. They replied to my email same day (Sunday) with kind words after I praised them. Also, they stated that if theres any problem they will make it right at no cost. Modern Aquarium insists this is leaching because I have a small amount of colored glass and pink gravel among my natural gravel. (Thats hogwash!) This is NOT THE PROBLEM. They DID NOT make it right. Only referred to some hobbiest who evidently also blamed my pink gravel. If this has NEVER been a problem with my tank before, how did it magically happen after installing their plants?Everything was rainbows and roses until I had a problem. The website says fast shipping and free returns. So I buy a 200 dollar light that they sent by usps and it arrives broken. It took 10 days to get here and then when I messaged to return the item they won’t Let you return lights because they are too fragile and can break during shipping, they shouldn’t ship them out then either. Make sure and read the return policy. It’s very interesting. They might take it back but if they feel it isn’t in exactly new condition they throw it out and won’t give u a refund and u have 30 days from the day they ship it not from when you get it. That’s horrible since it takes so long to get it. I do a lot of online shopping and would never recommend anyone order from this place. They are a joke!
