Really enjoyed playing this golf course. Course was in great shape, even though its early October. Greens have a good speed and rolled nicely. Played the back tees and they were for the most part level and in great shape. Ill definitely be back.

Quit playing this course years ago because of how bad it was run. I got talked into playing it again and was pleasantly surprised by how much better it is being run. The course is in great shape, greens are running true and the staff are very professional. Ill definitely play this course again soon.

Had a great time squeezed in 18 teeing off at 12:45pm. Had to wait but it was a beautiful 70 degree November day.

Well maintained greens & fairways, clean, staff is friendly. Just the right amount of trees & ponds/ water. My daughter whos under 21: says its perfect. The bugs are a gamble like the weather! It gets backed up some times; I dont recommend going alone! Not the biggest & best, just what you need.

Very nice course but I paid for 18 and left after 9 because there was a 15-20 minute wait on each hole. No ranger in sight expect the two talking all day spraying off carts. Dont recommend and will never return.

Employee outing today. Course was in pristine condition. Scores could have been better for a scramble. Nine under.

First time playing the course and it couldn’t have been better. Tees and greens cut to perfection. The greens roll very true. I will certainly be back soon!

Great day at a great course. Very good condition given all the rain we have had and the pace of play was exceptional. Senior price is very fair at $31 for weekend play and although my golf game lacked lustre the course made up for my shortcomings. Thanks for a great golf outing on a beautiful summer like Saturday afternoon.Tim

Course in Really good shape. Have played this course many times last few years and has been in much better condition. Sometimes it has appeared a little over watered/soft and that makes it play much longer and tougher. Today was in perfect condition - green but dry and found myself hitting 2 clubs less into the greens despite a 15-20 mph wind! Cart paths badly really need some serious work in some places. Would rate it 4.5 stars if I could.

Nice course, in good shape overall. Came for a round of twilight golf, which was very affordable. If you put this links-style course wiyh challenging greens in Oakland County youd pay $75 compared to the $23 I paid for the same round of golf.My only real complaint would be the condition if the cart path. But after years of MI potholed road driving, it was a seamless transition. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants a budget friendly, well manicured golf course option.

Nice hidden gem

Mixed thoughts on this course.The good: the course is in good condition. Greens are maintained well (excepting the people who refused to fix ball marks), fairways are nicely mowed, rough has been a bit longer this year though that does add some challenge. The 4 tees offer appropriate length for most player skills. New carts this year are a plus.The less good: they put too many people on the course weekday evenings. 3 hour rounds (for 9 holes) are too common, endless waiting on every shot. Reduces the fun to about zero. Appears to be little effort to speed play. The tees need to be levelled. Feels as though you are standing on a slope.The layout and conditions are good, but overcoming the slow play is hard to ignore.

They consistently over crowd the course with outings. Took 7 hours to play. There were 3 outings on the course at the same time

The Course Looked great. Enjoyed the day we had playing. Being told that some one using my name reviewed the course the other day for me. Just to let everyone know this is my review. Since the Ross family took over the course and made some changes the course Looks better then when the old owner had it. But is still does not look like the course did when it first open almost 20 years ago. But it is still a playable course.

This is a nice course and very well maintained. It meanders through a neighborhood of nice houses with the big fun of jets taking off frequently at the airport.(I personally thought that was kind of cool). I would have given it 5 stars but the staff overbooked it the day we played so our tee time got us set back 45 minutes... which made it a long day.

My family lives in gateway

Booked tee time online for myself and a professional Referral Partner at 9:00. There was NO mention of a High School Tournament on their website or event page yet somehow there we were, in the middle of an event. NO Rangers to speed up these walking players either. After 4.5 hours and only 13 holes we decided to call it quits. We went to the pro-shop and complained (as did many other golfers not involved in this tournament) about the situation and not only did they show NO concern, they complained to US that we booked online and told us they didnt even want reservations from the site we used! They offered us nothing for our time and frustrations. No rain check, no refund. Nothing. Customer service was THE worse! Will never go back. Save your money and go somewhere they appreciate and want your business.

It is a Dandy Golf Course

Played this course twice this year (2015) from the gold tees. Houses do NOT come into play at all (at least for me). The fairways were excellent and the landing zones for driver were fair. The rough could be better, but the soil (clay) didnt give them much to work with. Good risk-reward zones throughout the course. The greens were fast, and well-manicured both times I played it. My 77 might have been a 74 if I wasnt so greedy on a par 5!Only hole I didnt like is that par5 with a blind second shot. Eagle is right out.I think if they get a clubhouse, better asphalt work, and better amenities, they might have a really good venue for outings etc.I had heard all of the previous owner grumblings, but was pleasantly surprised. Ill be back!

The golf course is maintained very nice, has 4 sets of tees and natural driving range . Very generous fairways and some long/ tough par 4s. Good club house with pretty tasty food that has a bar. Taz the bartender really hustles and provides great service. Only knock is that the cart paths are really beat up just like our roads.

Last Sunday we had a 90 minute frost delay but the staff explained everything well.We were first to tee off and haven’t played there in 6-7 years. Remember it being ok so we didn’t have crazy expectations.That’s where it all changed... wow this course is in amazing condition. Best conditioning I’ve played on this year and that includes some private clubs and a bunch of up north resort courses. One of the staffers told us a family bought it many years ago.So there is my only Google review ever...that’s how much people should know how nice of condition this place is.Way to go Gateway, you’ve been added to our Sunday rotation !!!

A real test of golf at a fair price. Any time the weather is above 50 degrees you can get on for about 20 to 25 bucks. Fairways and greens are kept in good shape period its worth the trip

Great course. It was a slow round that day but typically the pace of play is pretty good.

This course had been revived beautifully! It holds a nice balance between challenging holes and some more forgiving. The houses are never a problem, and the staff is always super awesome! Great course, especially this far into the city!

Course is fun yet somewhat challenging and is usually in pretty good condition. Price is fair and the food is decent. My only complaint (and its a big one) is that they dont regulate the pace of play! I live very close to Gateway but I rarely go here. And this is only because on numerous occasions it has taken over 5 hours to play 18 holes. You have to stand and wait every time you take a shot. Update 2018: I have golfed here a couple of times this year without any wait, appears management has resolved the issue. Fun course to play!

Terribly managed golf course. Course is well-maintained, but our foursome was told that we were playing too fast. The course delayed us 30 minutes at the turn because they put an outing in front of us. Played 2 more holes and walked off the course after seeing 2 foresomes stacked up on every hole. Dont sell tee times when you have an outing at the same time

A really nice course, especially for being within a subdivision. I wish there were more trees, but thats just my opinion. If its a windy day, youll be having some tough shots!

The course has new ownership the last two years....the previous owner let the course go to hell...the new owners are in the midst of making this a great course for the money...the geese have been humanly removed ...and the poop situation has been rectified....all of the bunkers have been rebuilt with new sand....the front nine is easier yet interesting...while the back nine is more of a challenge...three brothers now own this course and two of them....yogi and denny bust their butt to make this a great local course...its close to metro airport and a quick getaway for anyone here on business .....

Very nice golf club/course...Went there for a Uhaul outing. Felt a little rushed once on the course, but had fun.

I have three words. Poop........Poop....and Poop. The course is poop and there is geese poop all over the place................update as of 4/24/18-New ownership has turned this course around. It is usually in pretty good shape and worth the visit.

Area the course is crummy. A lot of loud and rude residents that boarder the course.The good side is league play is well organized and I am waiting too long.

Didnt like the fact that homes are built on the course. Nearly every hole they have the potential to come into play making the round very unnerving. Our group felt very odd playing this course, as it didnt feel much like a naturally built course. Felt like you were playing golf in a housing subdivision.

Never golfed anywhere like this before. We showed up 10 mins before our tee time at 630 am, my buddy had to use the bathroom so we were pushing it but the guy in the pro shop was immediately rude when I asked about the price of 47 because I didnt expect it to be that expensive. I was fine with the price I just ask if 47 was for all of us or for just one person and he gave me some snotty reply about if we charged 47 for three we couldnt stay open Stupid question ill give him that but it was early, I said ok and paid. When my buddy got out of the bathroom the guy was rushing him. We teed off at 635 so our bad it was busy and we teed off 5 mins late and we let the guys behind us go ahead. On the third hole I was caught off guard when one of the guys in the office came over to us on a cart to let us know that they were tracking us on gps that we were 7 mins behind and we had to speed up our pace. Never heard of that ever happening completely ruined the day for us being rushed. Then as we are walking off the green the group of guys behind us are driving their golf balls at us one landed 15 feet away from us and another flew right by our other golf cart. Maybe we werent the fastest golfers finishing 18 holes in 5-10 mins over 4 hours but no need for what we experienced with the staff or the people that golfed behind us. Worst experience Ive ever had golfing. The funny thing is my dad and uncle have golfed there a lot over the years and love it and I took my dad there for Fathers Day this year. Nice course, mean people.
