First visit, this place was a very fun field trip for my 2 and 6 year olds. The museum is very nice, simple and easy to move through but with a lot of great tidbits of info about the Native Americans from the area, the French Fur Traders, and also the wildlife. They have made some thoughtful alterations to be more safe during the pandemic and employees were very friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed walking outside and saw a good amount of wildlife. The trail is just there and back (not a loop), it will be awesome if they are able to expand that in the future. Some other improvements in progress. The bathrooms in the visitor center were very nice and clean! The traders cabin was closed when we were there.

Great FREE museum! My son had a blast with the footprint station and we look forward to the turtles... But the path just ends so, like we did, enjoy each stopping point on the lake along the way! Climb a few trees take your time along the path and its great!

Review is for the boat launch: Plenty of parking, and short paved walkway to the river. There is a pier but I think that is more for looking out and not launching. Water level was low so bank was very muddy and rocky. There is no ADA compliant EZ dock at this launch
