The course was in excellent condition. The greens rolled smooth & true. Not overly fast but enough to get your attention, particularly if you were above the pin.
Played this course with a friend 4.17.20, so a little before the grass had come in well. Overall we were both quite disappointed especially considering the reviews which were grossly inaccurate or just plain fake. Im a mid 80s golfer on a new course that Ive not played. I hit the driver around 240 and my 7 iron is about 160. I struggled to break 90 at Stonebridge. The layout is not terribly challenging and is quite interesting but it was the poor condition of course that gave me the most difficulty. The tee boxes were just awful. Some of the worst that Ive seen anywhere. NO grass, not level and ROCK HARD. I could not get a plastic tee in the ground on these tee boxes and had to go to a wood tee.The hardness of the tee boxes carried over the fairways. Im a digger with my irons and irons are where I usually hit my best shots. I just couldnt make my club dig into the dense soil with little to no grass. The greens had been aerated for approximately two week and needed another two weeks to be in good condition. No one told us about the punched greens when we called to book the round. I didnt feel that it was fair not to mention this. Im a good putter and can usually make up three or four shots with long putts but these greens were slow and bumpy. I couldnt hit anything over 20 feet hard enough to get it to the hole.I dont mind driving an hour or even a little more for a nice round of golf. I drive an hour to Fields Ferry and The Frog and enjoy those courses each time we play. But I will not be going back to Stonebridge again.
Learn how to book tee times...I’m not a great golfer but good enough to keep pace of play yet on any given day you can find yourself behind 4 groups of 3 of more golfers causing severe wait times. Staff is great but a paying member who frequents this course multiple times a week should not have to deal with this due to bad scheduling
Beautiful quiet course. Very polite staff also. Great time!
Great golf course very challenging.
Course was great for the price. Nice views. The staff was awesome aswell.
Really great public course with reasonable prices
Great golf course!! Played after a rain and held up well!!
Brought my son here when he was a little fellow. We only putted the greens but he had a blast. Nice facility.
Played 9 holes, got rained out. The course is in great condition, would have liked to have played 18.
Friendly staff and a good grill.
The course played tough again. As always it was in great shape. I really enjoyed playing with my friends.
A superior public course with a beautiful layout, Stonebridge is affordable and well maintained in all seasons. Friendly people in the pro shop and snack bar make this course worth the hour and twenty minutes drive from my house.
Good layout, friendly staff, excellent value
As always, manicure was spot on. Im always treated well by the staff, and today was no different. Friendly and accommodating. It would be nice if the players would rake traps and fix their ball marks.David Echols
Great course in really good shape. Love the Greens!
Great course
The course was in great shape for November and the greens were fabulous
Ive played Stonebridge about a dozen times over two years and have never had a bad experience. The scenery is awesome and the staff keep the course in great condition year round. Highly recommend.
Nice track and the greens were in great shape. Friendly staff.
I think the new layout is very open and favorable for golfers. Its been awhile since Ive played the course. The champion Bermuda Greens were an adjustment and new to me, but all in all I think it was and is still a great track.
This course is in better shape than I’ve ever seen it. The entire staff goes beyond expectations to accommodate each guest. I was so impressed with my experience last week and can’t wait to visit again.
Very good bargain for the quality of the course. Has some good challenging holes . Course in good shape considering the lack of rain.
Great staffing and the course is great also
Played this several times and is a top notch course
Great course for a reasonable price. Go during the week if you want to save a few bucks and avoid the crowd.
Great, as usual! We wouldnt play our annual birthday round anywhere else.
As the only public 18 hole course left in Rome it is well worth the travel from neighboring cities. It has a wonderful practice area. The course itself is well maintained with a lot of challenging holes. The staff is great and clubhouse host many tournaments.
Beautiful coarse.
Great course. Challenging but a lot of fun. Staff is very friendly and nice. Play this course several times a year and it is always in GREAT shape.
Beautiful day for ugly Golf always enjoy playing there I called Friday evening to see how wet the course was I thought he said no restrictions so we drove down from Chattanooga love your course but course way to wet to drive from Chattanooga but will still give it 5 stars love the course
Great 18 hole layout. Fairways and greens in perfect shape. Really enjoyed playing it!
The course was in great shape, tee to green. It is hard to find a course in great condition for this price. It isnt a long course but accurate tee shots are required or you will end up in trouble. A must play if you are in the area.
Friendly staff and rental clubs were very good but green condition was little bit bad. Easy course for me!!
Course is in great shape. Juniors play for half price!
This golf course is major-league. Super well kept. Deer on several holes. Great layout. Some really nice holes. The Signature 9th is just a wonderful golf hole. Good mixture of water and regular holes. Great staff. Great greens. Good value. Any serious golfers in NW GA or NE AL should have this course in their best rotation.
With all the rain we have had it was extremely wet, still like the course. My 1st time here.
Great course at a great price
The staff is always unbelievably friendly, and the course is beyond your current course I would bet. Slow play occasionally, but its golf, why rush!
Great. Shot 74
Beautiful coarse and well maintained..
This may sound dramatic, but Stonebridge in Rome is truly one of my favorite courses in the world to play at very reasonable rates...Ive played golf in Japan, South Africa, and all over the U.S. It has a secluded, almost mountain course-like feel, and there is wildlife everywhere, including deer and wild turkeys. It has a great layout, very nice champion bermuda greens, and the new staff (they changed management I think, as of sometime around 2014) has developed fun activities for golfers and their significant others to engage in.
After being verbally assaulted by a young man calling himself a golf coach, the young lady working the desk called me a liar. I had a 7:00 appointment, so I played early to make my appointment. Finished the front nine in under 2 hours, but even skipping holes I still couldnt finish in time, as the back 9 took over 3 hours. Cost me $3000.00 to miss my appointment. I wish Rome had more options. I hate conflict. I go there for peace and tranquility, not to fight a redneck over a golf game! So opposite of everyone who has ever worked there. Until today, I was bragging about how nice everyone is there. I hope the problem is fixed soon.I tried again today to get 18 holes in. The course is in great condition and the greens are great. But as I was walking, as it was cart path only today, from 11 green to 12 tee box Alex, an employee and 3 young men jumped in front of me. I was on a schedule and didnt have the 13 minutes the 4 guys who jumped in front of me were going to take to slow me down. 12 is a par 3 and the boys made it clear they had no intentions of using the edique of golf by never cutting in front of someone. There was a single player behind me on 11 so they passed us both. As I was walking to #13, they hit golf balls, one flying right over my head. I finished the 9 holes and borrowed a cart to go back to find the towel. Alex and the kids he was playing with had my towel and I ask who hit the ball toward me that flew over my head and no one yelled four. Alex told me if he wanted to hit me with a golf ball he would hit me with a golf ball. I made my money in the cemetery business before Shelly, my wife died. I buried a man in 1983 who was hit in the head with a golf ball. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting a different result. I would be insane to think I can play a round of golf without having to have a confrontation over the edique and safety of golf. I really think Pat tries hard, but when the cat is away the rats will play. I will be talking to the city of Rome because my tax money pays for the course. I have videos of the kids saying he will hit me with a golf ball if he want to, and them driving all over the course when its cart path only. I was most disappointed in Alex for his disrespect for the place he works, Pat his boss, and the City of Rome thar pays for the course. If they hadnt hit balls at me, I would not have cancelled my membership. Dying isnt a good way to have fun playing golf. Nor is arguing with young men with attitudes.
Great course and great management and staff
Been playing here occasionally since they opened. I have always enjoyed the course even though I dont shoot well there. Right now I the nw ga. area its prolly the best value for golf around home.
Beautiful course, Terribly managed. Played on a Sunday and got started 20 mins late due to overbooking course overbooking. Ranger did not talk to any group about speeding up play. Will not be back unless I get the first tee time. It should not take any foursome 2:45 mins to play nine holes. Left after nine holes due to sitting for 15 minutes waiting for other groups to tee off.
It took under 2 hours to play the front 9. Obviously they have no starter. I couple of young girls cut in on the back 9. After 3 hours on the back 9, they were still on hole 16, so we and another group left and will not be back! Then a young man with the girls, I assume he works there, was trying to start a fight with an older guy over “my girls”, he yelled.
Great shape. Just challenging enough to keep it interesting.
Course is in great shape, the greens are fast and rolling true. Wonderful experience.
Great looking greens and fairways. Cant beat the price.
Just a great golf track. Friendly people and a great design!
Beautiful golf course and winter rates are reasonable and they also had a printable coupon on there website for more savings. Will definitely play again soon.
Nice course always well maintained
Great golf!
