The place offers a nice tour of the cavern and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the place and the science behind the flora and fauna that inhabit it. They have a nice little gift shop with a lot of artifacts that you can take home for posterity.

This was a great experience. Our guide was awesome and amazing! Full of information and fun facts, he included the kids in the tour showing them certain areas and asking them questions. Our group was small so everyone got to check all the fun things out. It was a beautiful walk through the cave and the trail. We even got to see a couple bats! Bats and the dark and the kids weren’t even afraid because our guide made sure to tell them there was nothing to be scared of. There are other attractions there that we hope to try next time. We had a great time planning for some fossils and emeralds we got from the little gift shop! Can’t wait to go back!

The tour of the caves was wonderful, as the tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoyed the Moonshine Cabins and the maze as well. We spent hours here and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I should mention that my brother-in-law was with us and has poor eyesight among other things. The staff was very friendly and considerate of him, and we appreciated it very much. He had little problem getting through the cave.

This is an awesome cave! Our group was very small with only 2 families including our own. Adam was such good tour guide. He had sovmany stories and cool facts to share. After the tour we walked part way back with him and then with a different guide who was also really great and had even more stories to share. Everyone was super friendly in the gift shop as well. It is a difficult cave if you do not walk well or have bad knees according to an older lady who did the tour with us. I would highly recommend it to any families!!

The cave is amazing, and we were happy to see a number of bats flying around. Jerry was our tour guide and he was impressive. Our sons loved it. The 58° was a very welcome break from the humid 95 outside. The gift shop alone is worth 10 stars because the items are crazy affordable... Until your wife and two sons each choose one of everything on offer. But seriously a great gift shop and a wonderful way to spend a few hours when you tack on the woods maze/moonshine house/gem sluice.Even got a t-shirt because we loved it so much. Thanks yall!

We were in NWA for a couple of month recently and our trip to War Eagle Cavern was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. I wasnt quite sure what to expect but right of the bat our guide was funny, friendly and SUPER informative. I felt like I learned so much from our guide about the history of the area, the bats and geology all in a fun and interesting way. My two boys also really loved panning for gemstones, the wonky cabin (I wanted to barf) and the maze. Definitely recommend checking out the cavern if your in the area and even if your not its a beautiful drive to get there no matter where you are coming from.

Take a walk back into history. This cave has quite a history with it. Outlaws of the civil war used the caves in this area to hide out at the end of the Civil War as well as later in the area. This is a fairly easy cave to explore and tour, the walk down and then up to it requires a little physical effort. This hidden gem of the Ozarks is worth the stop. They also have quite a large gift shop with very friendly staff. The conversations were lively and informative about the areas history.

We stumbled upon War Eagle Cavern while on a date-day and driving around the lake. We stopped in and to our surprise they were super busy. This is covid time and we were required to wear masks even outdoors, which I do not agree with, especially when it involves much walking and is hot and humid out. The tour guide was great, he was knowledgeable. They lose points because it is kind of pricey ($18 per adult plus tax) for a fairly short tour and some areas were closed due to covid (again, they could have broken up the group or something, but failed here). We had like 12 people in our tour group and another we passed had that many yet another we passed had only 2. Seems they dont break people up enough, would have preferred a smaller group. The cavern is easy to walk through, but its a hill to get down to it. The stairs up to the lookout point can be tough on less-than-able folks, but overall we are young(ish) and we managed. Note: they recommend going down to the pier to feed the fish, but the fish food is at the top of the walkway and it was empty... oops. Overall, it was a neat experience, but not overwhelmingly interesting and only a one time visit is needed here.

Took my family here for the tour. It was wonderful. Our tour guide was John and he was very nice. This is about an hour long walking tour that will challenge your body a bit. There is a slow decent into the cave with great views. There are some spots that you will have to be bent over and walking to get through. Then there is a steep walk back up. My mother was nervous about falling over. If you have an older relative with you just take caution. It was fine. There is a lot of info about the cave itself and you really get pretty far in. They have a gift shop as well that was very fairly priced. I highly recommend going here.

The cavern was beautiful, staff very friendly and knowledgeable, HOWEVER they told us the tour was elderly friendly. It is FAR from being good to the elderly. I walk with a cane. The cave was located way downhill on a steep pathway. The cave floor uneven (we were told that it was flat and level), which is very hard when you walk with a cane. Then to get back to the top it was straight up a long, steep hill. So be wary. If you aren’t physically fit and used to climbing steep hills and stairways, avoid at all cost.

Great cave tour. Spent $55 for my wife and I to do all 3 attractions. A cave tour, mystery shack, and maze. Guided cave tour was exceptional! Guide was knowledgeable and well spoken. The cave itself is cool so plants and a light jacket may be needed. The walk to the cave was easy as it is downhill, but walking back up was a lot more difficult since it was all uphill and steep. Totally worth it though. We got to see several different colored salamanders and we even got to see a bat (apparently it is rare to see this time of year). The mystery shack was absolutely entertaining. Watching a ball roll uphill trying to stand upright were fun. The maze was fun for my wife and I. We managed to finish it in 13 minutes and find all the items on the list we were given. We will return again with our kids next time!

Review №50

Its a neat cavern but its overpriced. Its a mile and a half walk down a steep paved trail, into the cavern, and back up again so be prepared. You can take wheelchairs and strollers into the cavern as well as dogs. There is one spot in the cavern where you have to duck down to get to another room. It is a guided tour so you may have a wait until your group goes in. $19/adults for cavern tour only, $26/adults for the combo pass which includes the maze and mystery shack. No senior or military discounts. Gemstone panning is neat. You do get a lot of stones and fossils.

Literally one of the best cave tours I have taken! This cave is a must see when visiting the area. We decided to stop by after lunch and I am glad we did! The cave is beautiful and very alive. We visited just after the bats left for the season but we saw salamanders in the stream that runs through this natural wonder. I really liked the fact that the cave felt untouched and like we were walking back in time. Other caves in the area have more paths and rails but there is no need for either in this single level tour. Our guide truly loved giving tours and explained everything about the formations and working of the cave. Of the 3 caves we toured in Arkansas this was by far the most intimate experience with nature.
