Historical landmark, 1900s Monte Ne was a health resort and ambitious planned community. submerged after Beaver Lake was created in 1964. This place has a lot of history

This is a really neat place to go exploring. Ive been a few times with my family and my two toddlers loved it! There are lots of places to climb, look at, and take pictures! The ruins have graffiti in many places, but I thought it made for some great photos. The main hotel area is fenced off, but you can still walk around it and see inside pretty well. You can see the most when the water is pretty low, but its worth a visit even if its not.

Extremely beautiful place with a super interesting history.

Review №4

So much history here. Wish they would restore the only standing structure & make it a nice historical park.

Sh
Review №5

Neat...Better when water level is low during cold weather. Otherwise, only the tower is visible.

Sh
Review №6

Depending in rain levels you can see varying degrees of the ruins. Regardless, the area around Beaver Lake is lovely. My family had a lot of fun exploring, but take care with smaller children as there are some tricky areas when around the ruins.

Kr
Review №7

Nice shady place to fish with easy access to the beaver lake.

It was nice seeing this building. The smell and all the trash around made it look really nasty.

Sh
Review №14

Lots of history. Very unique place.

Ta
Review №15

Its best to visit when the water is low so you can see the old theater grounds on the back side of the lake as well.

De

I have been here since 2019 and I have no friends in the neighborhood . Every neighbor wont be my friend because of my sister . They rather be her friend and not mine so now I am in the trailer every day and every night . So I have no life out here .

It has changed alot since I was a child but I still enjoy the sight

Ro
Review №25

Cant believe the vandalism has led to the area being fenced!

J
Review №26

Check water levels before you go. If the lake is high there isnt much to see or do. The barbed wire laden fence kind of ruins it too.

Mi
Review №27

Good spot for fishing, but other than that, it is currently a deserted plot of land. Sadly enough

St

Lost my phone in the lake

Br

Its a cool place if you know the history and even if you dont its fun to find out. The lake is right there as well and its a nice place with great views for fishing. All the people I meet there are very friendly. Ive caught some fish and done a lot of relaxing.

Always fascinated by the history of this place. Brought parents from out of state to view the area. We picked up trash while here, but more is needed to be done.

Great history and very interesting! Main parts are Oklahoma Row (with the fenced tower), Missouri Row (foundation & fireplace intact), Hotel Monte Ne (foundation), and the Amphitheater.. The last two are under Beaver Lake most of the time unless the water is very low. You can get to the amphitheater by taking Canal Street before getting to Oklahoma Row.Read up on the history of this location and the resort created by William Coin Harvey.Very nice place to go exploring or kayaking. There is a boat launch at the end of the hwy / road too.

I think its awesome and I would love to visit it during the night just to hear whispers of ghosts and the witches laughing . Warlocks would be awesome to see but they like to hide from the world .

Its very interesting but i wish i could go inside the main buiding, also covered in graffiti which some of its really kind of nice and some just kind of ruins it.

Monte ne chicken restaurant is AMAZING. The ruins are better when water is really low but worth checking out

El

Interesting...too bad its filthy! Lots of alcohol bottles, used condoms, n other assorted trash! Water was high enough so we couldnt see some of the things there.
