With the recent reopening, we wanted to support SMG in our neighborhood. this will be the last time. we went today and were charged for tap water. it isnt the price tag, though that was seriously inflated too, but the pure principle of it all. you arent allowed to bring your own water in. in the past theyve made it clear theyd happily serve you water even if you dont order anything. we did order food and daughter opted for water. no mention of there being a charge. when I got the bill with the charge I took it to a manager who informed me that because the water is in a disposable cup, they charge a fee. mind you, all other beverages are served in reusable glass or plastic cups. wow, how the mighty have fallen. I understand needing to make up for lost revenue, but charging for tap water, and not informing customers at the very least, is as low as a company can go to generate revenue. what did that cup cost, $0.10? nope, a lot more than that.

First time at a movie theater in about 8 months and I was really excited to go but it was only...okay.Ive spent most of 2020 renting and watching movies at home and I honestly dont know if the big screen is enough of a draw. Ive got 75 inches in the comfort of my own home for a fraction of the price with no crying babies, no overpriced food/snacks, no crowds, no drive time. Im just not sure I see the appeal any more, especially at more than $100 for three people to see a movie thats, on average only going to be okay.Movie was good, but I would have had subtitles at home which would have helped a lot.Food was...I think SMG relies on the fact that youll be eating in the dark.

You sit an the small table has a button to get service to you. Yup, they even bring you your chose of alcohol drink to sodas to you. No need to miss the movie but sit, eat an enjoy.

Nice place to catch a movie & lunch / dinner. Full bar is nice & lots of parking is available. Id recommend it, prices are not low...

Great service but their mixed drinks are weak af. They need get a bartender who knows how to ignore corporate and free-pour generously. My long island tasted like actually juice. But the server was great.

Long overdue pre covid 19.But good experience like the one in Glendale. Really surprised they are now in Norcal.Went here when they opened and almost have the same concept like Icon theaters, but I must say they were very organized when they opened, very good at training the staff.The seats were very comfortable, perfect space between other customers.Although their movie tickets were reasonable they do get you with their pricey food and drinks menu, but do not be obliged to buy anything for its not mandatory. You are there to watch, and its nice to have a mini luxury while watching a movie since they serve you your food, hence table service in a theatre but this is nothing new lol...check out the rest of the world my fellow travelers Their food and drinks are good, not bad nor great, so please dont expect to have gourmet foods folks lol

Food was good. And came in a timely manner. Yet, they charge $1 for tap water now? And had to wait 30 minutes to get it. Didnt find out until the check came. They never mentioned it. I got multiple refills. Wont be doing that again.

20/2 1st review, but customer several times over the recent years this complex has been open:-- Preface to 5-Star rating is that this is a movie theater producing a menu and food/drinks.-- With the above being said, this establishment is well thought out, staffed, stocked, and designed all with the creature comforts of the client in mind.++ big, open, table service dining++ a full bar (strawberry and blackberry lemon drop martinis excellent)++ big, beer-pub fair & portions++ personable staff makes genuine eye contact, greetings, and service.++ Service beckoning buttons at dining tables in main dining area before entering ticketed area, and at each seat in theater for seat-side service.

I came with my three grown children who had been there before so they were telling me how to order. We enjoyed the movie, and the experience, and service were both excellent and will plan to come back at another date.

Horrible chairs. Does this theater realize its 2020? Not 1992. I will never go back. They charge reclining seat prices for janky chairs.

Very disappointed this visit. Took my daughters, saw Eva movie good, food was outrageous...$70 w/tip. We all got pizza and a drink, no dessert, no popcorn, nothing extra. Asked 3x for ranch dressing finally 3rd time got it, by that time pizza was cold. This is why people sneak food in, this is terrible.

My husband and I were VERY impressed with our whole experience.We arrived about an hour early so we sat in the lounge for a bit. Bartender was very pleasant and polite.Then when we went to our seats in the theater we were very pleased with the service we got from the servers. Food was great (big portions) dessert was delicious. Seats were very comfy .Overall DEFINITELY 5 stars.

It was great to be able to get out and go to the movies again(even if it was a older movie)! Too bad the server informed me that they are going to shut down again for 3 weeks. I assume that they cant afford to stay open if not enough people are showing up.

Fun place to take the kids both young and teenagers. The Classic burger though was not good. It did not have any flavor and kids mac n cheese was thick and dry. Loved that they were willing to turn down the AC so we didnt freeze while watching our evening movie.

Best place, best way to see a movie. Food was excellent, made with very good ingredients. Staff was friendly, place was clean. Seating was excellent with very spacious room and comfortable. Really great place for a date, or to take your family. When you couple space, quality, comfort together, you get the vest value possible at Studio Movie Grill.

Amazing bar. Lots of food options on the menu. I have been multiple times and each time has been batter than the last. My favorite food item is the coconut chicken strips. If youre lookin for a good place to just eat and drink for a while, than their bar is what youre lookin for. You can order food before the movie if you showed up early or something like the that. This theater has more films playing at once than most other theaters do. There is also a bar right next to the theater called Brass Tap (no picture of that). The servers try their hardest not to interrupt other people watching when serving someone. The staff is always friendly and understanding if something happens.

Nice setup. I was prepared for a limited menu, however there were quite a few things that looked good. I read the reviews beforehand and some were harsh. I got a bacon cheeseburger and hoped for the best. It was delicious and the fries were just like I like them. I was delighted to get a good meal and movie at a new place.

Terrible food that’s eaten in the dark, like coal miners lunches, and loud throughout. They try hard and are nice but this place is gross. Some things should remain separate. Good if u have kids and wanna save money on a sitter for a quick date night. Dinner and a movie. Worst of both worlds. One starrrrr

This place has become our family spot to watch movies and have dinner, it works perfect with my schedule to get in that family time since I work weekends. I live near chico and drive an hour and a half one way just to come eat dinner and watch a movie.

Nice experience overall. Not a fan of the servers coming and going but I knew what I got myself into. The food was pretty good. I think its a good place to go to if you want to try something different.

Went with a friend and the food was not awesome. It was crazy greasy. Mh friend went to ask for a fork at the empty bar and literally waited 5 minutes. And they got his order wrong.

This place has lost its touch. I came for the first time in a couple years because I got free tickets. It was dirty! The floors and seats were dirty. I didnt know it until I got up but there was something sticky on my seat. The guy in front of me seat was covered in ketchup. Had to have it cleaned. I thought they were supposed to do this between movies? Even the lobby was dirty. food wasnt as good either.

Finally went for the first time. The atmosphere is awesome. The bar has a very good selection. Despite the waiters moving around, there was little distraction. I recommend to anyone looking for a date night location to go!

The food was great and the seats are comfortable. All seats have a good view of the screen. Occasionally the servers are not the best at doing their jobs.

Great place. The staff is top notch on service. Food is great. Something that is different from other movie theaters is people are more inclined to talk and move around, likely due to the added convenience of food. On multiple occasions I have seen people with their phones out and once a woman was taking selfies (with the flash on) in the middle of the movie haha. I usually have a more chill attitude towards the movie when I go here though.

This place is a nice treat. Its something out of the ordinary. Watch a movie, have a drink(alcoholic beverage), and a meal. The food is decent, and five dollar Tuesdays are a great deal on seats! The one complaint I have is the volume was way too loud. Order your tickets online to choose the best seat for you and beat the lines.

The theater is a very nice place to watch a movie. The seats are very comfortable and it is very nice to be able to order and be served food and drinks from your seat. However, the food is no better than mediocre.It is possible to eat in the restaurant without attending a movie, but I do not recommend it.

Fun experience. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. The whole establishment is spotlessly clean. Our seats were very comfortable and roomy and the isle ways are wide so you are not bumping into the other patrons while coming or going to your seats.The food is delicious and well portioned. We decided on their 2 for $29.00 meal special that includes a choice of a starter, main meial and a dessert. All were absolutely scrumptious. Their food is not fast food, but of a good quality. There was so much food, we had to take some home. They also have an extensive adult beverage list.What we also liked was that you have an option to see a movie or to just sit in their restaurant area where they have a full bar and big screen TV if you’d rather watch sports while enjoying their food and drink.We’ve never been to this type of a movie theater and we will not go anywhere else.

Have been going there since it opened. Absolutely changed my movie going experience and expectations. The wait staff is always friendly, only a few hiccups (over 25 movies seen there) over the past three years and when something does happen they as a team jump to correct it and make the experience wonderful.Great food options.

Bar is very nice. Needs more bartenders though. Nice public restrooms, changing tables in both. Great place for family, fun and adventures with movie entertainment. Parking out front was convenient.

We used to like to go to this place a least once a week but the last two times we had a really bad experience, our food took more then 30 minutes to arrive and it was really cold so we send it back and like five minutes after they send the same cold food again. after the 3third time we finally got our food right but it took forever for us to finally eat, we decided to give them another try so we went back and guess what same thing happened even the people next to us got their food way before us and they order like 10 minutes after and we never got our appetizer either, so definitely not going back again, if you want to enjoy a movie better go another place if you still decide to go to this place don’t expect you food to come out quickly.

I love the large movie screen and the chairs are so comfortable. The food has been good but it is very pricey. You are looking at 10 to 15 for just the meal depending on what you get.I have been here several times in the past couple years. They have certainly raised their prices...I have ordered the western burger like over a year ago when you could over the 3 course for 23 bucks...it was good...I ordered pretzel bites this time...7 bucks for like 10 bites...never again...they were good...certainly not worth 7 dollars...maybe 3 or 4.If I come back..it will only go be to watch the movie...The wait staff is always very friendly and attentive...

My husband had been to a movie grill back in Chicago when he went home to visit his family. Today he took me to the one in Rocklin. Since Id never been to one, I have little to compare it to, just to share my experience with you.Just off the freeway, it is easily accessible by car. The front of the theater is open and attractive, and has a water feature off to the right. Inside there is one or more ticket takers and sellers and off on both sides computerized ticket sales and delivery systems.As you go further into the, You see a dining room with multiple tables set up for theater goers. If you like you can eat your meal here before the show starts, or after. Unfortunately this theater has the same amount of restrooms as others, woefully inadequate. Inside the one ladies restroom I looked, it was clean and well stocked in all the necessary items. Handicap facilities were available and large stalls for handicapped.The aisles leading to the individual theaters are wide and spacious. Entering into the theater itself, you see the theater is different than most. You see the rows of seating, and at each seat is this is a dining table. At each dining table there is a button to call a wait staff, to pay to order, order things like dessert.Each one of us in our party ordered something different, but we all agreed that we enjoyed our meal. I wont review our movie, draeseke world, as that is a review for a different location. After eating staff came by and picked up hard plates and utensils, and left a check, which we paid a little later as the show ended. I have to add the personnel were professional, and pleasant.Bottom line recommendation: Im looking forward to doing this again, of course with a different movie. This is even taking into consideration, our drive from our house is approximately 40 minutes.One caution: especially for people with children, be aware of the volume of the movies. I saw many young children here and I was concerned about hearing damage. I am planning on taking earbuds for my ears the next time I go--the volume was so loud it hurt my ears. If youre going to the movies please, please, please, take some sort of hearing protection for young children, and dont forget yourself. Remember, hearing damage lasts a lifetime.

Studio Grill is amazing not does it has movies and popcorn. It also, has a bar for friends to enjoy as well as a sitting area for food. Food! It’s delicious and the serves is excellent!

Service was good, but the prices have gone up dramatically and other theaters have surpassed their seating accommodations by quite a bit. Still a good theater, but even being new, they need to update soon or will be out of business... still lol... good experience

Most of the food isnt that healthy for you or great tasting. Drinks take forever to come, so just get up and go get one. The concept is great but the menu is not.

Movies are movies right. The experience was good, nice bar and seating area. Food was mediocre and drinks were typical dive bar status. Truly the reason I’m rating this less than a 5 is due to the popcorn; not good at all :(Overall Good experience and great date night.

Oddly, with Fandango tickets you still have to get in line for printed tickets which is so 1990. The chairs dont recline which is a bit of a throwback too. Otherwise it was fine.

Weve been here at least 5 or 6 times and, so far, havent had a bad experience. Tickets arent that much more then regular theater tickets, and the seats, etc. are much more comfortable. Especially love that you can reserve your seats! Weve tried the pretzel bites, nachos, coconut chicken tenders, pizza, and burgers, and the portions have all been huge and the food has all been good. Yes, its kinda pricey, but its an all-in-one date night, so its worth it to us.

This place is so awesome. Great prices and a wonderful experience. The staff is so sweet and the food is always yummy. You get to eat a meal and watch a movie all while sipping on your favorite alcohol beverage. What a great idea for a theater!!

This place desperately needs a deep cleaning, and often. Last two visits I felt grossed out by the sticky food spills left in the cracks as far as the eye can see. If you prefer clean to be comfortable maybe try somewhere else

Reserved seating with tabletop. It was so nice to have a place to set down food and drink. Until I experienced this I didnt realize how much it annoyed me not having a tabletop. Seats were nicer than the usual theater seats.

We love this location! The food is great and the seats are really comfortable. We have never had a staff member that wasnt fantastic.

If you honestly want a dinner and a movie experience, drive to Folsom and hit up the Luxe at Palladio. The food is better there. The service is better there and the seats are better there.

I was told good things about this place. When I went it was empty. The food was half cold and the appetizer (popcorn) was served with the entree.

Was very disappointed because I spent $35 on popcorn and soda, yet they charged me $1.00 for a cup of water. They never did before the coronavirus.

It was awesome, good screens, good food, and great audio. The service is also really nice. The food is really quick and maintains quality.

We came to this theater because people rave about it. Do not see it. Movie was supposed to start at 10a & it’s 10:07 & all they have are people walking around & playing an insane number of commercials. No movie & the distractions of servers talking is insane. Will never go here again.

Great place to have some good food and watch a good movie. Boss took us guys out to watch Ford vs Ferrari and that is an awesome amazing movie if you are racing fan or Ford fan....

Great theatre with great food and service. My only complaint is my sister said the Womens Restroom was disgusting and had issues. Hopefully management gets them to clean better

Food is great but the seats are very uncomfortable and do not recline. They say its because they serve food and they dont want their patrons in a reclined position while eating. I think thats a terrible excuse to have cheap uncomfortable chairs. Its not like everyone orders food. Service is sometimes slow, I waited 10 minutes even with my button pressed. My family of four have been here 5 times. Each time was a different experience but each time had the same problem... the chairs are uncomfortable. I dont think we will be returning with other establishments offering better chairs. I will miss the reasonably priced food and drinks.

I would never go here again the movie was just a movie but the food and service was horrible. I never got my drink there were five of us together and they brought all the food out separately within 30 or 40 minutes one at a time. Two of our guests did not even get their food to the last 10 minutes of the show. When I asked for barbecue sauce for my dry hamburger she charged me $0.50

I love having dinner brought to me with a margarita (which is way strong) while watching a movie.

Went to the movies tonight and I had a coupon from joining their club. I gave our waiter a coupon for $10 and was told to hold onto it until the check came. When the check came we were told we should have presented the coupon at the beginning. Perhaps some training is in order.

Well worth the prices. The seats and theater experience (except for the volume!) account for the ticket price and the large platters are worth the food price. Hard to take one star for the service, on a Wednesday night, but it was slow getting to us and there was no one standing around. Overall well worth the money and will keep coming for the experience.

Very fun but the food was mediocre. I had gotten chicken bites with honey mustard and french fries. I did not like the honey mustard and the french fries were weird tasting. I think it was whatever they seasoned them with

The Southwest Chicken Salad was pretty good. I didnt use any dressing and it was still packed full of flavor. The popcorn was very buttery, I would recommend asking for light butter if you do not want greasy hands or of you prefer popcorn not drenched in butter.

Good food I like that you can order everything right from your seat. Only take away that kept me from giving it 5 stars was: 1It was really warm in there to the point we needed napkins to wipe our forehead and the seats dis not reclined

Nice theater and I do enjoy the food and service at your seat. Now if their seats were as comfy as Century with reclining then we are talking one of best theaters to go to. Seats are not comfortable.

I was expecting theater food--like over processed, greasy--but actually the dinners and dessert we chose were excellent. It seemed like our hostess was coming by during the most crucial parts of the movie, and the noise was sometimes distracting, so Id only go to fun entertainment value type of movies here.

Great movie. Much improved service! Food is still the only thing thats just eh. Usually just barely warm and the popcorn is never hot. Still 4/5 for overall experience though.

We took my daughter here tonight for her 12th birthday. There were 4 of us total. We got 2 orders of the 2/29 and it was delicious. The burgers were yummy and the fries were the best I’ve had. Oh and not to mention the brownie sundae was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! We saw Maleficent and the sound in the theater couldn’t have been better!! At other theaters I need help hearing the movie but here I was able to ditch the sweaty headphones and enjoy the movie!!! We will definitely be back SMG!!!

Good food & drinks. From my experience (2 times so far), the bartenders & wait staff are friendly, and drinks made well. Good, comfortable place, highly recommended.
