Really appreciate the helpful crew, they got me set up with my first recurve bow and all the accessories I needed to get started. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family. Thanks guys!
Walking into Wilderness Archery, you’re greeted with friendly faces dedicated to providing top notch customer service. As a novice archer, they made me feel comfortable and provided all of the information I needed to strengthen my skills in the range. Special thanks to Andy and Lisa for their superior assistance. I’ll definitely be back!
Super helpful and informative. Learned about this place from a friend. I came in to ask some questions about repairs and the staff was friendly and helpful with God speed. The owner was super polite and informative with extensive background knowledge on the bow. I will be coming here for every archery need I have from now on.
️ ️ ️️️I’ve bought many bows and I always have Wilderness tune and take a gander for any necessities, some people may complain about having to pay for things like tuning, minor adjustments etc. but if you aren’t an expert you shouldn’t be tuning your bow yourself... duh... pretty self explanatory - when you go to Wilderness Archery your only dealing with the most highly qualified staff.. it’s a family owned and operated business, and I’m more than satisfied every time I walk out the door, knowing that I’ve spent good money on TOP QUALITY expertise️I regularly have Andy help with me any of my questions and bows - he is friendly, helpful and an expertI look forward to continuing with some lessons to further strengthen my skills, and will ONLY RETURN to Wilderness Archery for any bows, archery supplies, tuning or lessonsThese guys are the best!
Highly professional and knowledgeable staff and great prices
Store was packed when I went, but still managed to receive some pretty good assistance with what I needed. Will be going back to this place in the future for all my bow needs.
This store is amazing. Like all archery suppliers, things can be expensive (you get what you pay for), but the level of care these guys possess is second to none. Both Andy and Steve have built and tuned my bow, while giving me a quick lesson. George in the range spent an hour really helping me dial in my shot, and range my sights. Even if you are not local, try and make a stop at Wilderness Archery, you wont regret it.
Lisa must be hot or cold because all i have ever witnessed is cold and rude, worst customer service ever. Nice shop and great folks other than her, if shes working Id go elsewhere or wait for one of the others can help you.
Very helpful, quick and knowledgeable staff.
Extremely impressed with the knowledge and info provided by the staff here. Tuned in tye new bow and ready to play.
As a novice bow hunter I would say everytime I go to wilderness archery I learn something new. Every staff member has helped me improve. Ive yet to take any lessons bit definitely plan on it. Best Archery store and range around.
Very friendly staff with experience in archery. Provided services are a plus. I will be letting them trim my new arrows. They also offered to help me with tuning my bow.Very helpful advice for archers, especially beginners like me. They have instruction and indoor range on-site.
Walked in ignorant to archery and was helped by Steve. Steve is a professional in every sense of the word, took his time and went over the important fundamentals and helped to set me up with a target shooting bow. The atmosphere of the place is the old-school genuine hardworking principles that are tough to find today. I witnessed a very helpful and attentive staff who were happy to go over small issues and offer guidance without gouging the customers.
I gave my bow for tuning, after I took the bow, I decided to double-check how it was configured and I was horrified! the angle of the arrow relative to the string is terrible, the distance from the axle-to-axle does not correspond to what should be according to the specification, respectively, the brace height is also different! In fact, all they did was put up a pipsite and set up a arrow shelf, and set the loop in the wrong place! Absolutely not recommend contacting this store!
Son and I came in and were new to archery. We got the best customer service and warm hospitality. Left with a bow and will be coming back for classes.
I would have given them 5 stars but the old dark haired woman who works there is very disrespectful to new archers. The first time I went there she was incredibly rude because I didn’t know much about archery but since then I’ve been back in and witnessed her doing the same thing to some nice people who are patronizing the business. Not everyone is a archery pro and she really needs to work on her customer service.
I’ve been to the store several times for work on my traditional bows. I’ve asked about modern bows and my desire to compete and Lisa has spent a great deal of time helping me try to figure out what type of bow would work best for me. I couldn’t be happier finding this shop and only wish it was closer to me. I found all of the staff to be polite and helpful and that fact that it is so busy also indicates others are happy with the service and products sold.
The guy helping us gave some good shooting tips to my child, who is a beginner. I thought it was helpful and he was friendly.
Very helpful, Lisa was awesome.I really appreciate the fact that they dont treat a new customer any different then a regular.Warm and welcoming.Thank you
Took my bow in for a new peep and dloop and a few arrows today. the folks there where fast and amazing service. Had me fixed up and test shots in no time great prices and service. Cant get that online...
Awesome experience, excellent service, & amazing prices
I recently got into archery and i love it!! Thus is the only actuall archery store and they know exactly what they are talking about. I can wait until my next trip in, which should be soon. Everyone should check this place out and enjoy the fun it will bring. Ask all the questions you like. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help with anything.
My sister and I came to this place after all the positive reviews. Weve never done archery before, and we walked inside the range. We were waiting for somebody to acknowledge us and this woman named Lisa walked in, looked at us, looked away and walked in with a father and his daughter. After helping them, she didnt make eye contact with me or my sister and proceeded to walk away from us. It was clear that she was never planning on helping us. It wasnt until I asked her if there was a place to check in, and she said, yeah, at the store, as if it had been obvious. Thats not obvious to someone who has never been there. That ruined our excitement, and I thought why would we spend money on a place whose customer service isnt up to par? So we left. Its unfortunate we drove 40 minutes to be ignored .
Best archery shop ever
Top notch place. I went in there with never having shot a bow but I wanted to get a compound bow for hunting. I told them I was brand new to the sport and they walked me through it. They set me up with a great bow and by the time I left I had shot 20 plus arrows and my bow was set up. I highly recommend them.
I am new to the sport of archery and I love all types of shooting sports. I tried shooting one of the new fancy compound bows and I am hooked. Wilderness Archery came highly recommended from a highly regarded pro archer and world champion. Wilderness staff has been patient, professional, and awesome to work with. They really helped me through the process. I do recommend you actually convey what your archery intentions are, especially if you plan to target shoot or bow hunt. There are so many pieces to the puzzle of Archery equipment, but once you are set up all you have to do is shoot.
Best archery shop in town and in the greater Sacramento area!! Friendly knowledgeable staff and awesome gear
This is best archery shop around, the service is outstanding and always very knowledgeable on there products! Definitely recommend to others!
Bought my Hoyt there 18 years ago and still go back for all my archery needs. Friendly and courteous
Best customer service I have ever delta with. I have now bought 3 bows from them. My current bow has had a couple issues. They fixed it under warranty the same day. They have so much knowledge and are so willing to help. I got my wife into archery by taking her into the shop. They set up a bow for her and then thought her how to use it. Thats no easy task. Now her and I shoot all the time together. 5 star all day for this place.
Clean shop and helpful staff. In the past year Ive purchased two bows (and God knows how many arrows and accessories) from Wilderness Archery and I couldnt be happier. I recently went in already kind of set on the make/model of bow I wanted, but the staff member who assisted me was more than happy to show me every model I asked to look at and offered to order any requested models he didnt have in stock. The staff member seemed knowledgeable enough to answer any question I threw at him and he made efforts to make sure I had everything I needed/wanted. I went home with a Bear Grizzly and I cant seem to put it down. I am absolutely IN LOVE with this bow. Bass Pro doesnt hold a candle to Wilderness Archery in inventory or customer service. Ive also recently noticed that Wilderness Archery has comparable or even better pricing. This place is definitely the best shop in the greater Sacramento area to supply all your archery needs.
Always the best. Mike (the owner) and before that his father have taken great care of me and now my son for the last 40 years. I wouldnt go anywhere else for equipment or service. Thanks Wilderness Archery
Have used their services before, always great!
Good customer service just would be cool if they inform you abt what your buying and what their charging you for. Especially for beginners like my self lol
Steve was wonderful in helping get a used bow up and running for me, the complete novice. I didnt get a chance to work with anyone else but they also seemed very helpful and kind. If you need archery help this is the place to go.
Ive always wanted to try archery & my friend and I really enjoyed our first lesson. Our teacher was excellent and had us shooting bullseyes within an hour.I spoke with multiple people on staff and everyone was really nice and informative. I would highly recommend their beginner lessons. Youll be hooked!
Wonderful staff, friendly and they took the time to not only give me exactly what I asked for but also made suggestions for better upkeep and use.
My initial phone contact for scheduling an archery session was extremely disappointing. The woman in charge (I think her name was Sharon) was either having a bad day or just hates her job. I thought well, she must be having a bad day. I had purchased a couple of living social sessions and due to uncontrollable circumstances my friend could not be there on time. My son and his partner were able to be there and had a very nice time. One of the instructors suggested I speak with the scheduling lady to see if she could accommodate me to reschedule. This was the same person I spoke with on the phone. Unfortunately, she had the same temperament and was what I considered rude. I suppose Wilderness Archery has too much business and she found it is not necessary to treat your customers with politeness. After my experience with her my son and I decided to take our $1,000.00 elsewhere to make purchase for equipment. Perhaps my money is small potatoes for them, but I am happy to make purchases with local merchants who know how to be kind to their potential customers.
Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful Im new to archery and the staff doesnt hesitate to answer any of my questions. Sometimes seems like they are slow but its only because they are giving everyone such detailed service
Excellent customer service. Workers answered all questions easily, quickly, and with enthusiasm. They were respectful and friendly. Would definitely go here again
Wonderful archery stop, if youre doing anything archery related (including having no idea where to start), theyve got you covered. They even have an indoor shooting range.
Great place for equipment and the Junior Olympic Archery Development program (for youths) is excellent.Store staff is very helpful and in my experience they dont try to sell you more than you need. We went from buying a starter set (inexpensive recurve bow, quiver and arrows) to a full professional setup for my daughter as she advanced in skill level.
I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone whos not desperate for an overpriced part for their bow. Terrible service, workers are very arrogant and unfriendly. Ive dealt with them a few times, regretfully Ive spent about $3k at this place. New bow for my son and wife and and a slightly used bow that wasnt cheap, for myself. The timing was off the first couple weeks on my sons bow and I brought it in and they fixed it, AND CHARGED ME! Are you effing serious? They are knowledgeable, but the customer service and prices are downright outrageous for this economy and in these times. I bought my next bow while I was in Denver CO and my faith in bow shops has been restored. Ill be looking for a new place to spend my Hard earned construction worker $$$. Hope this review helps the fellow customer. Oh and the one star is there because 0 stars was not optional.
My wife and I were in there looking for a set of compound bows. Matt greeted us shortly after we came through the door and we explained that we were new to the sport and had been reading up on the internet. He provided a great deal more information than we already had and answered all of our questions. He went on to make recommendations for bows that would work well for my wife. Shes does some items left handed and some right so he up two of the same brand, left and right handed to see which worked best for her. She preferred right handed, hands down. He then set them two similar right handed models with the appropriate draw length and weight and had her take a number of shots with each. She definitely like the feel of one over the other. He then set up a bow for me as well, loved it! He set up the arrows, and packages. Two ready to shoot kits purchased! We took them home and were hitting great groups at 20 yards shortly after we got home! The service was fantastic, prices were the same as I would have gotten at the big stores (Bass-bellas warehouse). Chalk up a win for Wilderness archery in my book! Well definitely be back.
Wow... Just... Wow! Whoever said customer service is a relic of days gone by has never been to Wilderness Archery.I went in and gave no indication that I was there for a complete recurve outfitting. There were already several customers in the store, but it didnt take Andy any time at all to acknowledge me, even in my Im cheap shopping attire I use to prevent the onslaught of pushy sales people I typically encounter when dressed normally.I was there for well over an hour, slowly and carefully compiling my goodies. Target, arrows, finger tabs, recurve bow, sights, quiver, bow case, everything. Not a moment went by that I didnt feel confident that I was getting great information and customer service.I ended up spending over $800, which is over $100 less than my pre-shopping research had calculated from various online sources, including Amazon. I cant imagine anything that might have made this a more pleasant and fulfilling experience.I left with fantastic equipment, and a new friend and resource for information and archery supplies that I will be visiting regularly in the future. In short, these guys ROCK, and Im not easily impressed! If there were 10 stars available, Id have run my finger to the far right of my screen and lit up every one of them.
I love going to this place. Friendly staff and very helpful and knowledgable.
Helpful service, good adv. Well stocked.
Beginner archer here and I stopped in on a Tuesday and talked to Steven L. Best customer service I have ever recieved. He was so eager to help us and answered all out questions. He got us fitted into recurve bows and we shot a few arrows. I will definitely be returning to buy our beginners bundle which are actually perfectly priced considering for $40 more youll get EVERYTHING aside from a target. I also loved how the employees are not on commission so theres no pressure to buy right there and now, or guilt for not buying anything. All in all, I left with smiles and more informed than what I have do far read online.
These guys are off the chart when it comes down to customer service. Brent and Andy have always spent quality time helping me get my gear ready to shoot and get my gear tuned right. Cant lose with these guys!
The greatest archery store around worth the trip I cannot say enough about the people there very helpful
Nice clean shop, my buddy and I stood around while every employee walked by us and said someone will be tight with us after about 20 min of standing around and not getting any help we left.
Friendly, informative, professional, efficient! Great customer service by Steve!
I can count on one hand how many reviews Ive left on sites yet I should do it a lot more since I rely heavily on others reviews whether Im buying or traveling. Bottom line is I was treated like gold yesterday. I walked in as a 54 year old who has never shot a bow, except in high school PE class, and was not once made to feel like I didnt belong. I picked up a used bow to get started and was treated with utmost respect while they made adjustments to my bow to fit me. I was asking kindergarten level questions and not once did the employee make me feel stupid for asking such basic questions. Probably spent 30 minutes with me and didnt charge me a dime even though I didnt buy anything. Very impressive!
A friend of mine just told me a story of a recent visit, and because Im so utterly appalled by what happened to him I told him I would write a review about this business on his behalf. Ive never even had the chance to step inside this business yet, and I guarantee you that I will NEVER shop here for this one reason alone: dishonest business practices. My buddy broke his foot late last year and needed some quick cash. He had a very beautiful but used recurve bow (retails *brand new* for about $600) that he didnt want to sell but was forced to in order to make ends meet. He came to this business with hopes that hed get a good price for it. They insisted that they could only give him $180 for it and refused to work with him when he asked for just $20 more to round it up to $200, ended up regretfully selling it to them for $180 anyway. Fast forward a few months to this week. My buddy went back to this same store to window shop. He noticed that his bow was still up for sale and inquired about it, not revealing that it was a bow he had previously sold to them. The salesperson lied about its condition by saying it was new. My friend asked him if he was sure about that and pointed out a distinctive scratch that existed way before he ever sold it to them. The salesperson responded, Stuff happens. and went to explain that no one wants to buy it because its $600. Thats a $420 markup on a USED item that is being marketed and sold at a NEW price!!! I dont know about you but that makes me wonder about their other items and how many of their allegedly new items are in fact used. To say Im completely blown away by the total dishonesty and attempt to rip people off is an understatement! They certainly wont be gaining my trust or business with practices like these. DISGUSTING!
I definitely recommend this place the.employees are help for with any thing you ask quickly they help you shoot with your from best archery place Ive been to
The best archery shop they treat you with respect
Very nice people. I bought a bow less than week ago and they have agreed to fix it for free.
Great group here! Always willing to help and very knowledgeable!
Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Good selection of new views and accessories.
If you are a recurve or compound archer this is the place to go to get what you need. Great staff
Bit understaffed, excellent selections, lots of unpriced items made it a little difficult, but excellent customer relations! Prices were competitive but acceptable. A definite return location!
This place is great! Even if the sales guy who helped me wasnt too enthusiastic about recurves (and I am more of a traditionalist) he was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of good advice and technical terminology I had yet to learn. I ended up buying a used Samick Hawkeye for a very reasonable price and I really enjoyed the whole experience. Now I am looking forward to going back up there to get the 3D target I should have got while I was up there in the first place! I highly recommend this place to all my friends.
After reading several reviews on Wilderness Archery, I decided to see for myself, since I wanted to get back into archery with a recurve bow and need help getting the sight straightened out on my crossbow. Jon spent a good amount of time fitting me up with the right size and tension. And no pressure to upsale on anything. Was also able to shoot the bow several times at their indoor target range. No shooting of the crossbow, but he assisted with the sight. Overall good experience and good value. If you already know the details of correct size and tension for your bow, you might get a better price on the internet, but the personalized service was definitely worth it here.
The absolute best I have ever been to.
Helpful staff nice to new comers but it can get busy making it seem like your waiting a while but all worth it in the end.
Customer Service - A+Price - A to B (fair) **Overall Score - Excellent! - Best Archery Store in CA.The Reason.......I searched for the right bow for 18 months, saved my $$$ and shot alot of them, ultimately deciding on a yet unsee, new for 2013, PSE-Hammer. Ordered in January, awaited delviery from PSE & picked it up in April. For 12+ weeks Andy, Mike, Steve, & crew all took my calls and replied to many/all emails, about everything (arrival updates, component choices, and arrow selection). The thoroughness and personal attention was refreshing and the real reason to buy from these guys. Yes you could save $$$ by buying online or from discount shops, chucking stuff out the door for a quick buck.... then you end up at a place like Wilderness Archery to assist your fit-n-finish details and make your bow dialed in. Save the hassles, shipping worries and driving around shopping for a bargain. Call or just drop-in to talk to this crew, buy from them directly and get a package discount and start shooting better today. I travelled 130 miles from the bay area to buy from them. Their personal attention allowed me many hours of in-store shooting, swapping components and ultimately choosing the perfect bow. I tried Bowtechs Assassin, Diamonds Outlaw & Fugitive, the PSE EVO and Vendetta, but my final favorite is the PSE Hammer; a 335ft/sec tack driver, that shows my limitations of being an average/good shooter & bowhunter (the bow is better than I am). Setup to shoot 440gr CarbonForce Hunter400s @ 305 ft/sec, via 29.5 draw @ 73lbs. & includes/highly recommended SpotHogg Hunter sight, QAD HDX Ultra-rest, and Stinger stabilizer. No buyers remorse here. It is a bow I can be happy with (learning to master) for many years. Kudos to the Wilderness Archery crew, who spent the multiple hours on answering my emails and providing the in-store personalized service & bow setup to provide that intangible value added to my purchase. It is money well spent in my book. - your loyal & future repeat customer...
Friendly knowledgeable and professional great atmosphere
Lots of hunting related stuff...
Awesome service!
I do all my archery supplies and bows here and no place else.
Helped out alot, very friendly
Awesome staff, very knowledgeable
Great help
Wonderful people
I brought my bear compound in to have a sight put on. It took almost a week. The employees were rude and looked down on me because I dont have a top end bow. U could tell the fat sluggish employee didnt want to work on it and only gave me information when I asked. If you didnt buy your bow from them or your not buying an expensive piece to have them put it on they dont care about you. My friend that used them too has the same feelings. Go somewhere else. I hope they go out of business.
