Nice YMCA with some nice equipment. There is a good amount of cardiovascular, free weights and machines for the space provided, though not a fair amount of room between such items. Locker rooms were rather fairly good, but shower areas were certainly dated. Nice pool area and very nice staff. Nothing really special about this YMCA, but a good average YMCA with most the amenities one would expect.

I have been a member of the Y for five years. My membership has provided many benefits including being able to use other YMCA facilities. In spite of these benefits, I have begun to question continued membership. As of the end of December, the Y in Rochester no longer offers ANY fitness classes on Friday afternoons or evenings. Having been a business owner for for 20 years, I understand fiscal responsibility. My questions: how is it fiscally responsible to lose membership? Why arent members allowed some input into decisions? Why arent classes offered a fair opportunity before being cut? Why are there so few offerings for the working population? Why are there NO classes on Friday after noon? Why have so many good, qualified fitness instructors left? PLEASE take a good look at these issues before membership continues to decline.

So I signed up my kids so did a couple of my friends but the thing they are ages 15 and 16 but we signed them up so they had something to do and for me and my friends to do our own thing in the summer and now my kid and some of their kids who are 15 dont want the membership because you have to do a swimming test or bring an adult. My kids know how to swim but they are mad because some of their friends who signed up arent good of a swimmer so then they actually have to bring an adult i say you should move the swimming test to 14 at least because i come from a family that if you 15 your old enough. I understand its for safety measures but Ive talked to some 15 years old and some of them say they dont use the pool instead go to the soldier field one or just a different one and not the YMCA pool. The womens locker room bathroom need some cleaning too.

The fitness center is great with all very new equipment and machines. Kids stuff is amazing! My 7-month old loves going there and I feel comfortable leaving him with them. The set-up of the building itself is kind of odd, and some parts seem dated and in need updating. But overall, we love it!

I am faithful member of the YMCA for 6 years. It is a great place with wonderful people of all ages. My toddlers and my in laws can all find something to be involved in there. They have a great pool for families, great classes for members of all ages, new fitness center, swimming lessons, and community parties just to name a few of the things. When I joined, I did not think I would use my membership that much, but I use it almost every day.

I spent months trying to get a hold of them for private swim lessons for my son. They would transfer me without listening to me and obviously transfer to the wrong place. Everyone I talked to but one guy was rude and impersonable. I decided to spend my hard earned money on private swim lessons else where. They are massively overpriced as well.

Not enough classes offered in the evening. Most classes are offered for retired clients. No more day passes.

I think that the YMCA needs to make the dressing room and hall leading to the pool area HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE. The web page on the commuter with the pool schedule is NOT current and up to date as of June 13th, 2014.

Family rooms smell because they have carpet on the floors. These are the rooms that folks are coming from the pool and using. Would bring my daughters here because they have day passes, but that has ended. I don’t need a membership since I have everything but a pool at home no don’t come often enough to justify a membership. Now I won’t be coming at all.

The locker rooms leave a lot to be desired. Dirty, dingy, shower curtain holes ripped so no longer hanging. Their cardio equipment ok. Weight section not enough space. Also Tauryn the woman that registers kids for the camp is extremely rude. Doesnt make eye contact. I turned in a registration a week ahead and double checked it was the right week and she kept telling me I was wrong that I only registered my kids for other weeks. Than with a huffy voice shes like whatever Ive taken care of it. Being rude, telling a customer they are wrong is not ok. Has it occurred to her that its possible she made the mistake??? Not sure I will bring my kids back next summer.

I have been a member before but recently I haven’t had time to go so I cancelled my subscription. Today I decided to go for the day with my friend during winter for swimming. When I get there they tell me that they don’t do day passes anymore. They must have lost business thanks to that.
