My daughter has been going to goldfish for almost 3 years. She has become an excellent swimmer and is so confident in the water. Its amazing how fast she picked up the strokes and now she is just spending time perfecting them. They do an amazing job teaching the children and my daughter loves it! Next stop...the swim team as a 6 year old!

Goldfish has really helped our daughter become comfortable with putting her head under the water. It has made bath time at home much more fun because she is no longer afraid of the water.

Everyone seems to take their job responsibilities seriously. I have also not seen anyone with attitude problems--everyone seems very excited and genuinely happy to be there helping the kids learn. This is a very rare thing to see in todays world. Management is always carefully observing everything, and I really appreciate that! I hope the original instructor we were assigned to is back soon though, it sounds like she has been sick for a bit. They do a good job of keeping notes, though, so it seems to work out when a sub is in place.

We LOVE Goldfish! Our son has been taking lessons through Goldfish since he was 1.5 years old. Now, at 4.5 years old, he can effortlessly swim more than half the width of the pool independently, float, dive for rings, climb in and out by himself with confidence and ease, and truly LOVES the water, which is a huge blessing in and of itself! While we did weigh other swim options, we are so glad we went with Goldfish. He has only ever had wonderful, caring instructors. We love the family-friendly, encouraging, and colorful environment. Our whole family enjoys family swim nights, and knowing the pool will always be warm - and facility will have all we need!

Can’t say enough great things about this place. The instructors are all extremely nice, patient, encouraging and just fantastic with kids. Even the littles that are having a rough day, they’ll softly try to talk them down and get them back into the lesson all the while soothing them. The ability to make up classes is huge since our schedule fluctuates a lot. Super clean and efficient. We love it!

They know how to improve the toddler’s skill, but they just won’t do that. They refuse to improve some specific skills on the child which makes no sense at all.

Highly recommended. Their instructors took both of my kids from an early age and taught them confidence in the water. Both of my kids are still very strong swimmers and really benefited from the instruction that was provided for them from Goldfish. Keep up the great work guys!!

They have teachers who care about children and teaching them to swim. Both my boys starting out cried and hated it by the 3rd lesson they couldn’t wait to go. The teachers are trained on how to work with children who are upset and to make lessons fun. Goldfish Rochester is worth every penny! We actually took a break to try a place closer to our new house and it did not go well so now we drive extra to take our boys to Goldfish. Goldfish you’re amazing!„

My son had a huge fear of water and being away from mom. Although he is only willing to swim with a male teacher, the staff has been more than understanding and accommodating. When his teacher was on vacation, they found a different male to teach my son. I was amazed at how compassionate and wonderful they are! And, my daughter was very afraid of water and within 7 weeks was swimming on her own! Ive already sent my sister in law to Goldfish and will continue to refer people every chance I get!!!!

The school is nice and teaches a plethora of swim styles, but fails in one of the most basic needs. Teaching kids not to panic when sliding into the water unexpectedly. My son attended a year, and although he was able to swim the length of the pool 6 times back and forth without stopping when he slipped off the sit down edge he instantly froze. I spoke to the teacher and asked them to try different lessons that will teach the kids to slide off the edge swim out .. hold there for a min and swim back. Never touching a side. This was so they could get used to operating in water where they have zero momentum. They would not try this.I then asked ( and offered to pay) for some private lessons where we could go over what happens if you fall in, or run out of momentum in the water. Even though they have this service listed, they could not offer it. They then said they would talk to his teacher and they will try to address part of it. I then watched the routine for the next month and saw zero change. My choice to stop using them came when I saw three other children have the exact same issue over the next three weeks of watching. Leading that it is a problem with the teaching method and not the individual student. In the end it is great my son learned how to do a dolphin kick, but the primary need for swimming lessons were not achieved. If kids do not know how to handle treading water or what to do if they end up in the water unexpectedly and go under water for a second. Then all you are doing is teaching cosmetics, and the not the necessitates.

I found the staff incredible. They helped my two very anxious boys in a gentle way and were kind and encouraging. After a jump start class my oldest is ready to move to the next level and feels incredibly proud of himself. My middle son took a few days to warm up but they gently encouraged him and he was in the water swimming by the last day. I dont feel its overpriced for the quality of teaching and how many staff they have on site. As a small business owner as well I know that overhead can be quite pricey. All the staff that we experienced were very helpful and great with my kids. You get what you pay for!!

Overpriced. They know how to make profit and how to charge you. At least they have changing rooms and showers - unlike Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac.

They charge you too much money for the little time they give to each child. My kid probably swam for like 2 minutes in the 30 minute swim class. The money paid for this is not worth it at all.
