We had a very delicious meal there Saturday night. It is an intimate environment for Jazz. Our table was situated in the center-back of the performance room, nearby the restroom doors. There was a speaker piping canned music directly over head before the trio set-up and played. The canned music was a bit too loud where we were seated directly beneath the speaker. The last Saturday of every month deserves a visit to see Jimmie Highsmith Jr.The Highsmith group consisted of Jimmie, a Drummer, and Keyboardist, -they were excellent! Jimmie is a treasure of jazz music in the Grover Washington style. At the break, Jimmie chatted table-side. The $20 Jimmie hustled for his latest CD Saxology 101, is Very smooth Jazz, and worth the buy.During the live music performance, conversation from two nearby tables was loud and distracting. Once Highsmith started playing and the canned music was stopped, the environment for seeing and hearing a performance was top notch, -except for the chatter from nearby conversations.
Live jazz!
