First off a little background I am originally from Rochester and have been snowboarding since 1986 both recreationally and professionally from Chamonix in France to whistler BC and New Zealand. I now live in Colorado and needed a new ride for the 2018-19 season. The knowledge of this shop is second to none. I recently made a purchase of a new snowboard and the on mountain know how from the staff here is amazing. Yes I live in Colorado and bought my new Burton custom X and Genesis X bindings from a shop in Rochester, Why? Because Jonah DiPasquale is by far the most experienced and hands on snowboard guy in the north east. He brings over 30 years of on snow gnar to the Rochester community and couldn’t be more knowledgeable about the tech side of snowboarding from beginner to an advanced rider like me. The sale was timely and even the owner was involved (this was huge) Their ability to deliver on a board and binding set that 4 different shops here in CO couldn’t even deliver on, much less knew anything about the product level I was inquiring about (which was more than surprising) Jonah and the boys here went right to work and met every need I could have, and even schooled me on some new school snowboard tech I didn’t even think of. Stop with the corporate stores and forum boards that make your hair hurt and buy local with these guys! You will actually have an experience that sends you away more encouraged than when you got there and leave being ready to get pinned! Finding a shop with passion for a sport I hold dear and an owner taking a shot on a vision and confidence of the ROCH community is a killer combo and even from out west they made me feel at home. Unbelievable season here in Colorado with Epic dump conditions over 350inches of snow this season Its April and still most areas are rocking 70 bases! But on to the real stuff! The Burton Custom X 161 is a jet fighter! Period, Not for the faint of heart and literally will throw you off the mountain if you dont ride it like your mad at it. That being said its forgiving and responsive but rips hard when you lean on it. effortless in the powder and snaps like an 80s skateboard deck in the park good pop and light on swing weight! All in all it responds like nothing Ive been on before (coming from a Burton T6 and T7, 161) Again huge props to Neon wave guys as they gave me some stance modification tech tips midway through the season to try, and their advice made the experience on snow even better! what I love from this shop is they changed my old school philosophy on stance placement and are progressing with the sport as I am hard pressed to make change but they followed through built trust and it paid off huge!. I am standing firm in the choice all the way from out west to shop with these guys! Second to NONE!
