Wow!!!Just returned back to where Marty started me bow hunting over 30 years ago and was looking forward to seeing him and having my Mathews Z7 tuned for a backup bow and buying a new bow for an upcoming Idaho elk hunt in September. Marty wasnt in, but that was when I met Stacy, whom in my opinion is one of the most unprofessional sales representatives Ive ever met. Ive been in bow shops around the country and never been talked down to so condescendingly. I honestly thought he was trying in to pick a fight with me.Best of luck Marty, but with employees representing your business like this when you are gone you dont stand a chance. Ill never step foot back in there while Stacy is employed there. Will be trying Coyote Creek instead...

I can’t believe the lack of knowledge Marty has yet he owns his own archery shop. I arrived at Archery Headquarters and wasn’t greeted or had a word said to me upon entering for at least 15 minutes as Marty did other things and answered phone calls. Once he came to help me, I told him I came in simply to have my peep retied. I tried sliding it, but it was no longer lining up. I could have bought a roll of serving and done it for 10$ and a little bit of my time. But I figured I would just go in and support a business and get in and out for about 10$. When I arrived, I explained what had happened and that I just wanted my peep retied. I asked him how much it would be, and he said 1,000$ sarcastically. So, I thought it would be free or super cheap and was no big deal. Then Marty asks to see how far off my peep is and asks me to draw my bow. I ask him if there is a target to aim at because I never draw my bow without an arrow on it. He looks at me like I have some sort of mental disability and asks me to draw it again. Against all my internal will, I draw my bow and show him what I told him, my peep isnt lining up. Marty then tried to tell me that peeps are junk and I should just get a new sight that doesn’t require peeps. Then, I tell him I am a college student that can’t afford a new sight and just want my peep retied. He then, begrudgingly, took my bow from me. After taking my bow he tries turning the D-loop and messing with the strings, doing everything in his power to get it to line up without retying it. I watch as he struggles for 30 mins then answers a phone call and talks for another 20 mins. After he hangs up, he comes over and tells me I need new strings. He says that my strings are too old, so the peep wont turn right. I laugh a little since my strings are less than a year old and again ask him if he will just retie the peep. He gets an upset look on his face and says somethings under his breath then goes to attempting to retie my peep. This was one of the fastest processes as it took 5 minutes just like I thought. This is how long I expected our whole visit to be. Then, he lets me go shoot it to make sure it works and by god! What I told him worked. The peep now set perfectly. I thanked him even though it took him close to 2 hrs. and asked him if I owed him anything. Remember he joked that it would be 1000$ so at most I thought 10$. But I assumed it would be free. He stated 20$ I laughed and said Oh yeah as I thought he was kidding. He looked me in the eyes and states I dont work for free you know. That really bothered me, and I thought he provided terrible customer service. 20$ is way overcharging considering it’s a simple task that takes 5 minutes and a whole roll of serving costs around 10$. I paid him and went on my way. I will never be back I have no need to see this geriatric old man that gets off to Mathews bows and shooting Jake turkeys to full body mount.

Awesome Staff - Marty, Berge and Stacy have set my daughters 5 and 7 up with bows, taught them how to shoot and helped get them excited about shooting and hunting. I would highly recommend them to new or experienced archers. I have purchased 4 bows from them in the past 2 years, countless arrows (everything from robin-hooded arrows to lost in the woods) and gear. Happy every time!

In the past I was shooting the mission crazy which was a great bow, but I never got all that comfortable. So I went on the hunt to find a bow shop that would help me to get shooting better. So i called Archery Headquarters and talked to Stacy. He seemed to really understand that buying a bow is an investment, and understood the time and effort that is put into shooting accurately. They where the third shop I looked into, and Im glade I didnt have to look no further. The wealth of bow knowledge, and great deal of caring they had actually lead me to buy a different bow. Of course I was thinking of getting one anyways, but they sold me with training, and the service they offered. When I got the new bow I still had a lot of old habits, and kept shooting inconsistently. Every time I went. So I started going in and getting lessons by them, At first I hated to changes they where making to my shot, but I kept at it. For awhile nothing was improving so they recommended the Chicken-wing Trufire Release for me. They told me it was for shooters that have a happy finger. So they changed my draw and sights for me to use the demo, and I started shooting a lot better. So I asked about the price, and it was a pricey release. I was hesitant about buying it but my bow was already set up to shoot it. They built enough trust with me, and so I did it. It was the best decision I have made. Now I am shooting 2 to 3 inch groupings at 40 yards consistently something I have never done. It really proved to me they would never set you down the wrong path, and they really care. It was definitely that change I needed to make. I strongly recommend these guys to all shooters both experienced and beginners. Especially beginners! They have my business for life. The bow I shoot now is the the Mission Blaze which an awesome bow! I just Wish I went to these guys 3 years ago.

Seems like every time I go here my experience becomes worse. I used to go to AHQ because of proximity and their archery pro was great to talk to and gave honest advice. Its always been a place where you are going to pay more for your equipment, but that is pretty common of small archery shops. My biggest issue with their pricing has always been their range fees. $8/hr?! The range is limited to 20yds so good luck setting up your hunting gear, but to charge you by the hour is absurd. Dont you want people to hang around longer so they by your over-priced gear? With the hourly rate, which you may not even spend a majority of your time shooting since most people who go here are hunting oriented and shoot high poundage bows, you feel like you need to shoot and get out so you dont go over your time limit. For these reasons I have never really enjoyed going to AHQ, but as I said before I went because of proximity. After my last experience I dont think I will even set foot in AHQ unless hes having a free Mathews giveaway. I went to get a piece I needed to finish installing my drop away rest and sight in my new bow. I was able to install the piece myself. I was the only person in the actual pro shop when I arrived and the owner was working on a bow in the back and I browsed. He came out to ask what I was looking for and said he had the piece I was looking for. He then retreated to the shop room and continued to work on the bow he was adjusting. More people came in to the shop and he greeted them and just seemed to forget about me. I waited for 20 minutes with no more contact from the owner and picked up my stuff and left. Maybe he just needs to hire more help or maybe the bow he was working on was for someone way more special than I was, but that is no way in my mind to treat a customer. The high prices, the poor service, and the inadequate range are all reasons I will never be back to AHQ.

We have been going here for years. Marty is awesome, but what hooked us was Stacys approach. We booked an archery birthday party for my son a few years back, the kids had an absolute blast. My sons interest was peaked and being the dutiful dad I was all about buying him his own bow, that day. Stacy politely told me that he was NOT going to sell me a bow that day, that he sees this at every kids birthday party, and then ends up with a less than satisfied parent a few months later, consigning their bow to sell as the kid has lost interest. He told me to sign up for the kids league archery they hold every winter, and if after my son had shot their for the whole season, if I still wanted a bow he would hook me up. I was blown away by his honesty and integrity in this situation. Sure enough a few months later we bought a bow for the boy, and he has been back for league every year since then. Thank you Stacy and Marty
