Staff is friendly and theaters are clean. Overall a great movie going experience. They are doing all of the things that newer regal theaters are doing - Regal Unlimited, reserving seats, etc. And you can expect the typical prices of concessions.

This theater had been our go to for big budget movies, as well as any movies we couldnt see at the local theater, however recently the whole experience has gone down hill. I like the idea of assigned seats, however the whole ticket buying process has grown very frustrating now that the box office has stopped being used. It takes a lot longer to wait in concessions lines to buy tickets, and it is also surprising that there is still only the one kiosk to self buy tickets. We could buy online ahead of time, but if you have a group going you have to order in one group to get seats together as well as pay service fees, not a great option. The last few times we have seen a movie here we arrived with as much time as we normally would before but now we would be getting our tickets at the show time. However, this leads to the other frustrating change, more commercials before trailers start. The last few movies there were new commercials that started at show time which then pushed the new trailers out another 5-10 minutes. All combined the actual movies didnt seem to start until 25-30 minutes after showtime. These changes combined with problems with sound quality in multiple recent movies has made us decide we will most likely only use this theater when we dont have another option. A real shame when we used to love coming here.

Wow, I dont know anything I liked about this place! Expensive! Rude staff! You have to wait in the concessions line to buy your ticket for the movie regardless if you want food and beverage or not so it takes forever! A $1 bottle of water was $5! You also have to choose a seat so if you end up by someone loud or smelly, you have an assigned seat so youre outta luck! Just makes me not want to go see a movie at a theater!

I have always loved going to this movie theater. They are always very friendly, professional, and timely in getting their patrons into the movie on time. And the business upkeep has always been very clean and pleasing to the eye on the inside ever since it opened 19 years ago when it was owned by a different company. I might be biased in my opinion of this business because I worked there then. But they have always treated me right. Only advice I could give Regal cinemas is that they should really consider updating the exterior (polish, paint, etc). And they need to think about installing new chairs into the theaters.

I took my 5 year daughter to see Frozen 2. We got there 25 minutes early for the 1:45 show. No one was selling tickets at the window, and I had a gift card that wasn’t accepted by the kiosk or the app, so I had to go to concessions to get our tickets. We stood in line for 20 minutes - the lines weren’t that long, but I guess the concession workers had to get snacks/ tickets for everyone, plus help each customer select their seats. It just looked very disorganized and chaotic. My daughter got very upset as the movie time approached and she worried we wouldn’t make it, and we didn’t. I even asked (who I thought was) a manager if she could help us, and she just gave me a helpless look. A lot of the customers looked frustrated. Thankfully, there was a showing 15 minutes later at a different theater, so we left and went to AMC at Tanglewood. There were more customers there, and it had half the number of employees working, but it avoided gridlock by selling tickets and concessions separately. We got through the door and into our seats in about 5 minutes. And we could sit wherever we wanted, which suits us better because I like to let my daughter choose.

I have been going to this theater for many years. Its becoming quite dated. It could use new chairs, as the current ones tend to squeak. They now do reserved seats, which I am not sure I like (but it could be handy when buying tickets from home IF you can pick ahead on-line). The sound is incredibly loud for the action movies--- I seriously put earplugs in for the duration, but I am pretty sensitive to noise. I continue to travel to this theater because it is still better than my local one.

The theater was good, I was in theater 2. I have been in this theater room various amounts of times. I would give it 5 stars, but everytime I come to this theater the seats always squeak. There is no way they can continue to squeak if they are lubricated and properly taken care of. However, the staff cleans up rather quickly for the next showing, and bathrooms are rather clean for a premier opening. The concession area does need more selection of beverages. Be prepared to spend if you want any concession. $19.83 for a large popcorn and Large beverage.Besides that, everything went well.

I rarely post reviews but tonights experience was terrible. We love to see movies and tonight 4 of is went to see the new John Wick movie in theater 2. It was SO HOT we couldnt enjoy the movie. Went down twice to ask that the air be adjusted. My husband was pouring sweat simply sitting still. When we approached the manager he just said it takes a while to cool down. No offer to compensate us for the tickets or offer a drink or anything. There are other theaters in our area and we will be attending movies elsewhere if this is the attitude of the management. Its a movie theater not rocket science. How hard is it to provide decent hospitality.

Most especially when you have to stand in line at the consession stand to purchase tickets and make seat selection. Crazy hold up. The movie theater is clean and offers a variety of movies in its multiplex facility. The restrooms are clean and can accommodate the crowd when the movie is over. Today the theater we were in had a bit of an odor, not sure why. It bothered my nose a little. I have never had that happen any other time at this theater. We were in #14 room. Terrible audio! 3rd movie weve been to in the past 3 months with audio levels way too low at this location, all in different houses. This theater made our Lion King experience very underwhelming. We see movies at multiple theaters across the state and this one is the worst at maintaining expected audio levels--they seem to keep it low purposefully and do absolutely nothing when complaints are made. You should NOT have to hold your breath and strain to hear dialogue during the quieter sections and certainly shouldnt be able to hear the hum of the air conditioner above the audio throughout all but the loudest portions. I can hear better (and much louder) audio on my 15yr old 5.1 system at home.

Been going here since they were in the mall, held kid birthday parties there, use the app ... then it all sort of fell apart. We always get there a little early, choose our seats while someone goes out for refreshments. We like to sit just behind the front barrier but don’t mind going back a row or two if necessary. Not now. With reserved seating, likely a better idea during expected busy times, we find ourselves in a near empty theatre and sure enough a cougher will enter and be “obligated” to snuggle up next to me. And of course no one better dare leave their reserved seating! Of our last four visits, my party of four has had to rush over to the competition at Tanglewood (at least their seats are more comfortable even if they don’t have the same fun and classy atmosphere Regal used to have) three times, the last being when we went into Regal just minutes before the show and saw a hot mess of a ticket line at concessions. Raced to Tanglewood and made it just in time. Two other times we skipped movie plans altogether after trying to figure out how close seats were to the screen because there are different floor plans for different theaters. Note to Regal, there’s a time and a place for certain policies.

This theater has always been great, clean, and good for families. However the recent change to assigned seating caught us totally offguard. It was embarassing when as a family of four we were settled into seats, then were asked to move to pur assigned seats....which we werent even able to pick. Very embarassing and frustrating, especially since this is a movie theater where everyone pays the same amount. For people who are only comfortable sitting by the exits, it is also unsettling. We will chose to watch our movies elsewhere.

We moved here from the west coast so our expectations are flavored by that. We found there really are no good movie theaters in Roanoke. The Regal is the best of the lot. Its older, but kept nicely and we do drive further to come here. In the realm of our experiences, its totally fine. We have no issues with it but it is certainly no where near the level of some of the nicer theaters with the fancy seats and such. Expect standard theater seats, reasonable visibility with the slope of the stadium arrangements. Some more unusual food offerings which is nice. Clean bathrooms that are conveniently located down each side arm of the theater. When its cold outdoors, skip the ticket line and use the ticket machine just inside. Faster and warmer! Weve yet to find others using it.

The fire alarm went off and the staff clearly had no idea what to do. It was around 9 o’clock, so seemingly all the managers had left. Looked like a bunch of high school kids trying to figure it out as they went. Luckily, we were allowed to return inside after about 20 minutes and our movies were rewound to where we left off. But man, what an inconvenience. I would have liked some kind of free concession or movie voucher as a make-good for the inconvenience. Paid $7 for a fountain soda instead. Joke’s on me I guess.

I have mixed feelings about this theater. On the plus, the screen has a great picture, the sound is good, and it is clean. The big down side for me is that Im 53 and my feet dont touch the ground.
