The park was beautiful... I had been once before and Marymount did not disappoint! The Black Bears were sunning themselves, the little Fox was regal as ever.. The Sheep, well, they go without saying - all different and cute as buttons. The Pigs, well, we couldnt pet them today but their coats were so different and stunning. One actually had sits that resembled a Leopard - very cool looking.Evidently the Chickens and Rooster thought it was a bit chilly as they all had jackets on. Yep, little tiny coats. Adorable!!My four Grandchildren were kept busy climbing rocks, exploring the Bamboo trails and climbing the climbable Trees.A GREAT way to spend hours. No admission but, if you can, donations accepted to keep this park beautiful and the animals fed.

I absolutely love this place! I’ve always heard amazing things and I finally went and instantlyFell in love. Great place to take the kids! This beautiful place is free they do ask for donation. There is a Children’s petting area where they have some farm animals to feed. I believe this area is for viewing only due to Covid now. They also have other animals around the park to see bobcat, bald eagles, bears. They have a paved walkway that is stroller friendly. The gardens are just beautiful. Our favorite is the stepping stones in the Japanese garden. They also have a glow event that you do have to get tickets for which is worth every cent. They have fire pits and food trucks available the event took about 30 mins for us to walk through.

I understand that due to Covid-19 all facilities were closed and animal enclosures as well. This is the first time Ive been to the park ever it still was very beautiful.I do want to make a comment though about handicap accessibility it could be a lot better. There are a lot of areas that other people could go in and I was blocked off because I was in a power wheelchair.I would highly recommend if anybody want to donate to the park that they upgrade handicap accessibility for all.But I do want to make a note it is very sad that is beautiful as that place is there are some people who like to destroy it.

It is very relaxing to walk around. We went during the Garden Glow and it rained but the event was very nice. There were food trucks, vendors, etc. It wasnt that long of a walk though but since it was raining we didnt get to enjoy it as much. We checked out the Robins ribbons nature center (only inside due to the rain) too and really enjoyed how interactive it is. If you love animals, flowers, plants, and being outdoors then this is the place for you!!!

Gorgeous fall foliage this time of year! Weekday mornings are the least crowded. For parents with children, this is a gorgeous park, but be mentally prepared for hills.. We bring a stroller, but a wagon or carrier works great too! If you want to see the farm animals, start your adventure near the barn. They have a parking lot, too. The gates open at 10am

Seriously, one.of my favorite places in the WORLD! As a student at VCU a long time ago, this was my refuge when I needed to just get away from school work and breathe. The atmosphere is very inviting and warm, the gardens are exquisitely done and the animal habitats are left as natural as possible for the animals. Added bonus is the petting zoo and museum, where you can see all kinds of cool native fish, reptiles and river otters! I think with Covid rules, a lot of stuff is closed, so make sure to check before you go. Its 100 acres of magic and I hope this place is around for a long time! Donate!! Its free but what you get is so amazing for free but they cant do this without your donations!

Have been here on several occasions the garden itself is beautiful. Entry is free though there is a suggested donation of 5$.This time the review is for Garden Glow event. The even was kind of ok. Smaller area was covered than I expected. The crowd turn around was good...we reached at 6:30 and had to be in queue for about 5-8 mins before we got in to get in ( basically for the ticket verification) and then again for 15mins in 2nd queue after the village ( for the village had food beverages other stalls). After that it was beautiful the entrance as well as initial work and small things that were made out of light. There are couple of nice place to take pictures but as it was mostly dark taking selfies and pictures of your family and friends was difficult you can get good photos of the place for sure.Parking was free but around 1mile from the park walking with kids could be little painful i recommend dropping kids and family at the gate and then going to park. If possible take separate ticket for person going to park the car, so others can get in and be in the village for him/her to join. Or may be find street parking near event.Overall decent experience but i expected more :-).

Went around 5pm on Labor Day. There were plenty of people enjoying the park and everyone seemed to be having a fairly enjoyable time! I’ve gone to this park several times as a Richmond native and I can easily say this is a must-see attraction for anyone new to RVA.My only complaint- the only animals we really got to see were horses and cows. The barn with all the goats and (I think) rabbits was closed and it seemed like all the other animals were put away? I’m not sure if the park locks away the animals in cages or dens or if these animals in particular were just tired but it was a little disappointing.Nonetheless, you should still visit Maymont and enjoy your time! Great place to take the family, friends, or SO’s!

Ive been to Maymont Park just about every year for about 10 years straight now and while I live in Virginia, I think that will continue. The scenery is just beautiful and it is just fun to walk and take in the smells. They have a fantastic aquarium with some of the most beautiful sturgeons I have ever seen! The hike around the area is not for the faint of heart. Im telling you now that this is a huge estate. I recommend going on the tour of the mansion, the tour is a bit slow, but the decor is fantastic. If you are an artist like me then you will appreciate the furniture throughout the home. The Japanese garden is gorgeous. Was hard to get some good shots as the water had dried up under the first large bridge. Lots of hills so I wouldnt suggest coming here with a wheelchair to tour the entire grounds. I believe they have golf carts that will take people on the tour of the entire estate but we opted put of that and just walked the entire time. Definitely donate to keep this place up and running!
