First time golfing here and the course is easy to navigate. It is challenging and inviting. A good place to golf, plan on returning soon.

Good course. Nice staff. My golf game sucked but if course they never promised they could improve my play.

Golf course is currently in decent shape. My current issue is with the clubhouse attendant coming at us telling us we are behind schedule and we either needed to pick it up or skip a hole. Ive played golf my entire life.. it was not a slow pace. I was in a foursome and he scheduled a 2 some behind us. We kindly let them play ahead of us and when we got to the next hole we caught up to the group ahead and were behind them the rest of the way. It was totally unprofessional and really he shouldve gotten onto the group in front of us.

I havent been here since ownership changed. What a difference! Collars are getting mowed and the greens are looking very healthy. I can see the course looking great for Spring 2019. Friendly clubhouse staff and reasonable price for a beautiful course.

Since the new ownership took over not one employee knows what is going on. The pool times change depending on who is running the front. They cater to certain people and dont make them follow golf etiquette. Greatlife really needs to train their employees better.

This golf course is in excellent condition I played Rivercut in Springfield last week and Island Green is in way better shape !!! Think I found my new favorite course!

Just left the course at 6pm trying to grab a few holes before it got dark. Employee in the club house said they aren’t letting carts go out anymore and that they just had 5 groups go off the first so it would be slow. This has been the 3rd time that I’ve been turned away since the new management took over. Extremely disappointing since it’s the closest course to my house.

Outstanding golf course and staff. A true value. Very Professional staff was informative, helpful at every turn. Practice facility was beautiful with new balls. Course is magnificent, well maintained. Very few issues. I can not explain what a value this course offers. Dial in a tee time ASAP.

You really need to check this place out! Island Green is back! If you havent been here in a few years you will be really amazed at the turnaround. New management has made excellent progress in every aspect of both the golf course and the clubhouse. Excited with the future enough to become a member there. I believe in their sincerity in making this course a place everyone will soon be talking about.....its a 5 STAR place to play a round of golf. These folks are committed to doing things right. Come on out and youll see.

Affordable and well kept golf course. Quality of the greens dips in the summer, but during the fall the course is excellent.

Island Green has seen huge improvements over the past year! It looks like a completely different golf course. I would recommend checking it out if you have not been out in awhile.

Nice course decent condition good greens

Just moved to the area in July. Every one at the course is friendly and working hard to improve play. I have seen improvements in my short time here. Even started planning our first golf tournament at the course this fall. Great staff to work with.

Course design and layout makes this a challenging course. Some of the greens however were in seriously bad shape in 2018. Hopeful the issue is resolved in 2019. I will play here again when the greens are healed.

Had a great round of golf today at Island Green. The poor reviews on this golf course are correct and deserved, but that was a year ago. The greens are in great shape and the fairways are looking alot better. If you have shunned this place, you should really reconsider. All golf courses have some rough months and this one has had its share but it has alot of good points too. The staff is friendly and they always try to get you in even if you dont have a tee time.

With gorgeous facilities including a modern yet rustic clubhouse with an impressive full bar and food menu, pristine and perfect golf course, and a courteous and relatable staff...Island Green is the perfect balance of comfort and class! Highest recommendation!

If youre looking for a golf club with a great layout professional staff and courteous service you need to look and Island Green. I was there today and met the staff and several members, I look forward to joining this fall and playing in the spring.

The best golf course in the area

I love playing 18 holes out here. The course is getting better and they now have great food at the new water hazard club house.

Greens are scared beyond repair with massive dirt patches everywhere. Fairways are spotty with some of them being straight up crab grass. While we were there the grounds crew turned on the sprinklers with us still on the greens getting us and our cart soaked. The greens keeper just watched it happen. Wont ever be back. The lady behind the counter was awesome though!

Where to begin. Greens are in horrible shape. Grass isnt mowed often. So long that you can easily lose balls in the fairways. We were charged for 18 holes when we asked for 9 and then we noticed just a few seconds later, they refused to give us our money. When you treat customers the way they do, you never return. My wife used to work on a pro course and knows a little of how things work. She was in charge of greens and sand traps. Oh speaking of sand traps, there was more grass than sand. Drive to a different course if you play golf.

Course is going down hill. Only thing left was the greens were nice still. Not much for fairways. Went back last weekend course has new owners and are making improvements

What happened Island Green?Just played there this past weekend with a couple of buddies. Weve played this course since it was Tri-Way Country Club back in the 80s, when it was only 9 holes. Back then, the tee boxes and greens were the best part of the course in late summer, because the fairways werent watered and usually burned up by then. After expanding to 18 holes, and putting in irrigation, it became one of the premiere courses for the public to play. The greens were exceptional and the course very challenging, especially some of the holes on the back 9.Fast forward to now - some of the greens were half dead, like #4, which had more dirt than grass. All of the greens had damage to them, and were spongy to putt on. The fairways were indistinguishable from the rough, because they werent mowed! The tee boxes were just pathetic. Non-existent bunkers, some with sand piled up in the middle and grass growing all around the pile. A normal 3-hour round of golf was stretched to 4-plus, because we spent extra time looking for our tee shots, which disappeared into whats supposed to be the fairway. I hit 10 of 14 fairways with my tee shot, and had to drive back and forth several times just to locate the ball. The course had a $29 special, which I can see why after we played there. $29 was too much to pay for our round, considering the conditions.Its very sad to see whats happened to what once was a very good venue. I had heard theres supposed to be a change in ownership. We can only hope this happens soon, and that the new owners will take pride in the course and return it to its previous beauty. The gentleman in the pro shop was very courteous and friendly, so kudos to IG for having him there. Now get busy and fix the course!

Nobody takes care of anything here. We asked for 9 holes and charged us for 18. When we asked for our money back 30 seconds later, they refused. Never again will I come back

Lets talk about policy... We stated we wanted to go for 9 holes, they charged us 18 hole price. We noticed it on our receipts. So we imediately went back in and asked about a refund for the difference. The clerk said he couldnt get one. Terrible policy. Then let me talk to you about the golf. Im from Michigan and quite honestly this course wouldnt fly there even if they were a place about to go out of business. This place is not well kept. Premer golf? Not even trying to be an ok golf course. Have you seen your bunkers? No sand! The tee boxes are nothing but markers in long grass. This place could be amazing. But never will with the attitude of ownership.I just wanted a place to golf this weekend, your prices could be amazing... But it wasnt even a value. Spend $10 more per person and be better for it.

Great new restaurant in Republic.

On a warm day in Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. This is a fun and challenging golf course.

Really liked the course but poor groundskeeping. Fairways was like first cut rough. And greens bad need of repair.

Owner does not require golfers to follow standard golf etiquette therefore you will have a substandard experience unless you like golfing without basic golf manners. Greens are not maintained and are left unrepaired .Owner is caddy and gossips about members to her staff . I dont recommend this course .,

They quit mowing the fairways on the front nine due to the heat....lost balls.

Challenge

The fairways are just a bunch of dirt patches and they were under staffed when we were there. Waited 20 minutes to pay for our tee time because the guy working was also the guy making drinks and food.
