I began taking classes at Blue Dog in 2010 when I was in the third grade. I have recently graduated high school and can confidently say that this past 10 years at Blue Dog has been the best experience of my entire life. Ive been a part of Blue Dogs standard classes, performing groups, special shows such as Polar Express, Julia Blue and Oz, as well as Royal Blue Dance co. All were phenomenal to be a part of. Each and every member of the staff is kind and supportive. All of them have been role models for me as Ive grown up. The classes are fun, inclusive and amazing at developing dancers. As a plus size girl, its easy to feel isolated and excluded as a dancer, However, not once did I feel this at Blue Dog. Along the tops of the walls at the studio are the words, respect, responsibility, unity and enthusiasm. This is just the tip of the iceberg of values that you learn at Blue Dog. Blue dog has always been a second home, a safe space and my happy place. I wouldnt change anything about it. The amount of joy blue dog has brought into my life is impossible to convey. Words cannot express how thankful I am that I signed up for that jazz class in third grade, as it was the beginning of the best times of my life.

Blue Dog Dance is Fabulous! Barbara is an excellent Dance Teacher & Studio Trainer. She flew to California to train our dance staff and captured all of our hearts. We look forward to having her return again next year!

Owner Barb and company are amazing! When COVID made life rough they jumped in and found a way! Zoom class was one of my child’s only respite from her daily monotony. Teachers were patient and fun in the online classes. And to pull off a fun and SAFE recital? Unbelievable, but they made it happen and so smoothly too. Great group, I actually can’t wait to see how they handle next year! We’ll be there!

My daughter has been dancing here for two years and they are amazing! We first switched here from another local dance company because they offered so many different class types for kids under 5. We ended up staying because they go above and beyond for their kids. My daughter has participated in recitals, two years of wizard of oz - theyre so well organized and make it so fun for the little kids as well as the big kids. Recently, in-person recitals were cancelled because of covid. However, blue dog made sure the kids were still able to perform in their beautiful costumes by hosting an amazing multi-day outdoor drive-in recital which I am sure took countless hours to plan and organize. We felt safe, the kids had a blast. Cant recommend this place enough - kind staff, great teachers, great communication organization and love!

This was my daughters first year taking dance and she was so excited about her recital. When COVID hit, we thought it would never happen. I am so grateful to the Blue Dog teachers and staff who still made the recital happen. They had the recital outside in such away as to keep everyone safe and allow the kids to still have a wonderful experience. It showed how much they care about the children.

My daughter loves her classes. The class size is small, which allows for more personalized instruction. The teacher is very knowledgeable and super friendly. The students are very comfortable with her. My daughters class is for 4-5 year olds. Even though they are very young, the curricula for the class is real; theyre not just twirling around doing their own thing. They are really being instructed in proper form and techniques. The front desk manager is very friendly and helpful. From registering, to attending classes, to scheduling make up classes - all has been very smooth-sailing. Not to mention, their prices are very reasonable! Our experience with Blue Dog Dance has been extremely pleasant and we strongly recommend to everyone!

Blue Dog Dance is a second home for our family during the school year! The staff does an amazing job focusing on both fun and skill growth, without Dance Moms pressure. Plus, they offer classes and dance performance opportunities throughout the year. My girls have been dancing here for 8 years and love it. And not only does Blue Dog have great classes for kids, but also for adults! Adult dance classes are supportive, fun and include beginners. Adult tap dance, anyone? Sign me up!

I have danced with Blue Dog for the past four years. As an adult dancer, I look forward to classes every week. Blue Dog emphasizes developing well-rounded dancers. The high school dancers, The Royals, work throughout the year to raise money for Childrens Hospital. I have seen young dancers grow in technique, skill and poise under the direction of Barb and all of the amazing teachers. I highly recommend Blue Dog Dance to anyone looking for an inclusive dance school that focuses on developing not only skilled dancers, but confident, civic-minded young people.

This place is crazy. Crazy awesome! Our family has had the distinct pleasure of attending, dancing, performing and volunteering with the Blue Dog staff and its ever-inclusive array of families. From the minis to the high school kids, and even the adults (dads included) everyone that I know, cant say enough about how wonderful a performing arts studio Blue Dog is to be a part of. My family has been a part of the Blue Dog Dance community for 10 years. My daughter started in kindergarten and has grown into a poised, talented, well-rounded and skilled dancer who feels confident on the stage and loves to perform. She has experimented with musical theater, tap and hip-hop and has excelled in jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and ballet. The performing groups at BDD are for those who want increased opportunities to perform, a place to nurture strong, positive friendships, and a chance to build a deep sense of community by giving back to others through their gift of dance. Mrs. Barbara has built a dance and performing arts studio where students will have multiple opportunities throughout the year to participate in original productions for increased performance opportunities. Parents can (if they want, but it is not required) get involved on many levels, too- making new friends, volunteering for productions, and even taking adult dance classes. The instructors at BDD are very dedicated and passionate about making sure the students are improving in their dance technique, and also loving the art of dance. If you are looking for a competitive dance studio (along with extensive time and money commitment, travelling to large competitions on the weekends, and all the extra bling and showcasing that comes with competitive dance), BDD could be a great place for your dancer to start off to ensure they love dance before you commit to a competitive dance team. If you are wanting a place where your child will better their dance technique through practice, AND better themselves through dance, BDD is a great choice for you. I highly recommend BDD!
