The best event/air show you will ever go to! Take my word for it, I’ve been to the races every year of my life (16 years straight) and have never missed it once, and hopefully never will. Weve enjoyed coming for the last 30 years or so. the new entry of drag racing airplanes was real enjoyable to watch and I think you should have a lot more or several more during the race anyway. Do I like it? its a 5000 mile round trip for me .I love it

The worlds fastest motorsport, once a year in September air races of all types, but the ones to see are the unlimited class world war 2 vintage aircraft racing around an eight mile track at over 400mph. Its worth buying the extra pit access tickets to soak up the atmosphere of the various team working on their aircraft

Amazing! The best air show in the west! So many planes and races wing tip to wing tip. Feel like your in the too gun movie with how close the planes are. Lots of venders and seating. Biggest airshow in the west and great atmosphere, fun for the whole family

Excellent experience. I recommend to anyone looking for something new. We always have a good time. The events are fun and the static displays educational. From drones to huge transport aircraft. The pits are special, race planes and war birds. In the pits you can get up close and personal.

The one and only Reno air races!

Gotta love 500+ MPH air racing! The only way to go is the RARA Checkered Flag Club. Great seating, breakfast, lunch, lunch speakers, open bar all day, and more. Also, check out the STOL aircraft drag races (you tube it), the crowds loved them!!

Great fun with good weather and planes of all kinds. Stayed in our RV and walked to the races.

Great place to hang out with flying buffs. The races are cool and the pits are a must see.

The Reno Air Races are amazing this is a place you will never forget . The sound of them planes racing is incredible . All the different kinds of planes to look at all the good food . I had to come back for more . I did see a P-51 crash there, Ill never forget who this person was . If I had the chance to go back there i would .

Spent several hours with my Son and his classmates on a field trip to the Air Races. What a fun time for all ages! Took a ton of pics and videos!

It was my first year and I liked it, but I heard last year there were more airplanes and more attractions.

Only place in the world you can see planes racing like NASCAR. Raw power. Speed. History. So worth seeing.

The level of commitment and enthusiasm that each team has is unreal. It was so great to meet with the pilots and the crew. The amount of aviation history that theyve been able to maintain is extremely commendable, given the number of war birds at the event. It was an amazing way to spend my time for a few days and I recommend it to anyone who is even remotely interested in flight.

Lots of old Warbirds in the Air races. There are also sport class and Jet classes. The USAF Thunderbirds put on an amazing show

Should call it the Reno Air Show. Been going since 1987. Nowhere near what it used to be. If youre expecting the thrill of the old war birds racing, you will be greatly disappointed.

Incredible! Only place in the world where you can see planes racing around the course wing tip to wing tip at speeds into the 500 mph range! Several differ groups like sport, formula1, and everyones favorites, the unlimiteds. Even if you are not that into planes, you are sure to find this both interesting and exciting

We visited one week before the races as we were in the area. There is nothing out here but a local airport that we saw if youre not here during the races. Appeared to be in a depressed area.

I would go 10 stars if I could! What a unique event, for someone looking for a different unique sport check this out. We where there for the Friday, Saturday, and the Sunday and we were never bored and always where doing things. We got tickets for the Checkered Flag Club and the extra money was well worth it. Great breakfast and lunch where included in those tickets and a open bar. Private bleachers with a great view. Thanks to all the people that put this event on and the Checkered Flag Club, we will be back!

Terrific group of racers, fast paced events, great visibility, just a fantastic event! I come every year and there are always new planes/racers to join our old friends who fly every year. Many planes from around the globe competing.

Been going for over 10 years. Would love to see new vendors, and activities. But always fun and entertaining.

We just happened to be in Reno and found the air races were going on. The event was very well organized and people were great. On a negative side is the local police use the event as a fund raiser. Time to move the event out of Nevada. They already have gambling, prostitution and marijuana to fund government and the don’t have to hand out trumped up tickets on top of it. Kiss my ass Officer Roy Bean or who ever you think you are.

Still fun, but not like in the past. No premier acts and a few popular planes did not fly. And they charge for Wednesday, a day with no events. Rethinking future visits.

The only place to see head to head airplane racing

Just went to the Reno Air Races (Sept 2014). I have known about the races for many decades and finally said I cant wait any longer and went. Wow! Breathtaking, Incredible, Stunning, and More. To see planes racing head to head at over 490 miles per hour, separated by a nose or less is a big WOW! To see the jet teams in formation! Double Wow! To see the aerobatics Triple Wow! To get up close and personal in the pits. Yum! The whole day from start to finish is five star fun. Bring a good hat with a big brim all around and sunblock, plan to walk around a lot to see things. Bring you Binoculars to see on the far side of the track and be ready to be amazed! It is a huge event with more food than you need as well! Come early (before 8:00 AM) and plan to see everything. The Unlimited Class is quite a display of power and speed. The parking was easy, and the exit after the event was relatively easy. (it is tougher at Dodger Stadium than this)The is a lot of cool stuff to browse, many famous people to meet, and lots of art to view. Come one, come all and enjoy! Get a seat in the top row if you can as it is the best for viewing and for the breeze.

Never know how the weather is going to be so check the forecast. There isnt an indoors so dress appropriately. Youre going to spend too much on everything so anything you buy has to be a good value for you. The pit pass is a must if you want to talk to the pilots or watch the crew work on the planes or just get a good selfie with the planes. You can get good pics with your cell phone but a telephoto lens helps with action shots. The schedule changes and the participants change based on how the day unfolds so be prepared for anything to show up. Or not.

I have never been before but my family has been coming the last 15 years. It is a great place for families.

Go to the Air Races every year! Every event is exciting and since it is run almost entirely by volunteers you are bound to find someone who is snotty though. High prices, but that is expected for special events. Exciting races and cool planes, a wonderful experience overall!

I flown to the races for the last 7 years and its a great time everytime. The crowds seem to be getting thinner and the event organizers have dropped most of the perks for the racers. There were racers there that werent racing because the event organizers have made it too difficult and expensive now. Its sad...I hope the event survives...its one of the only air races left in North America.

I met an air racer in 1965. I have been hooked on the Reno Air Race ever since. This is an Air race with an air show. Its not really about an air show its about RACING. Highly modified WWII planes with a run what ya brung attitude. My non-air race friends are always amazed when I tell them there is a 28 cylinder 4360 cubic inch engine on the front of single seat airplane trying to average 500 mph around a 8 mile course 50 to 150 feet above the ground racing 8 other airplanes. As big as that engine is it is outclassed by a Rolls Royce V-12 putting out 3,500 plus HP. If you are a motor head you really should go at least once.

Being a part of the air races since their conception in 1964, my father, Elwyn Freemonth one of the handful of men who started the races, Ive seen it grow and evolve into this wonderful competition of men and their flying machines. The open pits, military display and all the new categories of racing continues to keep me interested 4/50 years

Its was amazing! What a great event.. cant wait for next year.
