Best Little Mountain in the biggest little city! Proximity is everything. During the weekdays you can ski ride up to the lift. Incredible views. Amazing events, like the fireworks show. Good food amazing ambiance in the bar plenty of seating outside. A great place to go with friends or by yourself for a day of skiing or snowboarding. Ter rain is variable from black diamonds to green circles they have a conveyor belt for brand newbies. But definitely I must if you are a skier or snowboarder. Come visit Mount Rose ski Tahoe!

After spending $475 for the weekday pass, then upgrading to Saturdays for $50 more, then adding on Sundays for $100 I still feel its a very good deal... Great variety of green, blue, black and double black runs... Plus a one hour private lesson for $49 bucks seemed really reasonable. Wish I had a place to stay up here instead of heading back to Phoenix, but Ive had 3 weeks of fantastic snowboarding and skiing.

We got there early. Just as they opened. The place is beautiful and well set up. We wanted to sit in the bar to watch the game but the bartender Brian told us they don’t open until 10. Turns out they opened at 9:30 so he lied. Later we were trying to order drinks and I asked for a cherry coke and he told me to go to the cafe. A nicer bartender interjected and offered to pour a coke with grenadine which was perfect but I could tell Brian wasn’t pleased. If you all get rid of this guy you’d have a perfect 10 staff. Everyone (else) was very helpful and so friendly. My son loved the snowboarding and this being our first visit, we had a wonderful time. We’ll be back. Just not looking forward to this Brian guy. Ugh!

A friend told me that this was a family friendly place, perfect for first time kids. It was perfect! First, the price cant be beat. I paid for 1st time lessons for 3 kids. They got a 2 hour lesson plus the snowboard and the boots. The first place I was going to take them was very expensive compared to here. In fact, I would have paid the same amount for one lesson at the other location that I paid for all 3 lessons at Mount Rose. Second, Even though we ran late because of traffic, the staff was so pleasant, courteous, and professional. They took care of the kids and made sure that everything fit and that they had everything in place before the lesson started. And during lesson they were very patient and positive and supportive. Third, I could sit on the deck, in the sun, taking photos and videos of the kids As they took their lessons cama road up the Hill for the 1st time, and then came down the Hill. Facilities are older and need TLC. I would give it 5 stars but the bathrooms were filthy and interior was dark and run down. The kids got dressed in the car because there were no facilities for them to change and put away their clothes inside the lodge. I would definitely recommend Mt. Rose without hesitation, and I know we will be going back.

This is the best Ski resort we have ever visited. The staff were absolutely amazing. They were helpful, accomadating and very professional. The ski lessons far exceeded my expectations. The slopes were beautiful, well maintained and had fresh snow. The lessons run for 3 hours and are really tailored to each kid. They even give you a report card at the end with a list of skills learned /mastered and give the kids hot Cocoa when they return their ski equipment. One note - ski goggles are required and they do not rent them. They do however, have a store you can buy them from on site.

This ski resort is about 40 minutes from Reno, weve been coming here every year since the kids were 3 years old, its the best ski resort for beginners to intermediate-advance. The runs are not too long and wide, many well groomed slopes for all types of skiers. The ski classes are managed by many young and pleasant trainers, the kids loved them. The prices are getting more expensive every year, this year $145 for adult and $75 for our 2 kids (13-15). Now they use the ecard instead of the paper ticket, make sure you have a pocket in front of the jacket to put it in AWAY from the Phones or it will be erased. We went on the 30th of December, we could save $5 each if wed bought online the night before but I wasnt sure if the kids were up to it.The day was quite nice, the snow was perfect, the lifts were not too crowded. Its a beautiful day until 1:30PM, the top was foggy and cold. We went home at 2. Its quite an expensive ski session but it worth it. We only ski twice a year, and this year started out quite nicely. We went to diamond peak last year due to pricing, but this year, the price difference is minimal for us to change. The food court has been redesigned so that if we buy food and have lunch, we do have place to eat instead of being occupied by non skiers with their own food LOL. Well come back on president weekend as usual.

Ive lived in Reno for almost 3 years but hadnt boarded at Mt. Rose yet until today. I had an absolute blast there today! The snow was great and the variety of runs kept things interesting. I felt like their 6 person lifts ran really quickly, enabling more riding time. I will highly consider getting a season pass here next year, as it only takes about 40 min to get there from the north side of town and the parking situation there is excellent, especially if you park at the bottom of the Slide Side.

I would guarantee that Mt. Rose Tahoe is a riot when all the ski lifts are open. I was lucky to arrive on Saturday when it was one of the few ski lifts open in November. The staff were very friendly and looked excited to get the new ski season started. I received immediate help to get ski rentals and my pass. They now had digitally activated passes to get onto the gondolas. The two open slopes were a lot of fun, and I was glad to get my feet back in some skis. It seemed like everyone around me felt the same way.I had lunch there and it is what you would expect at any ski reality. Slightly overpriced foods like pizza, hamburgers, grilled cheese, hotdogs, et cetera.

Ive only been to one other ski resort and the quality compared to the other place is like night and day! It was my first time snowboarding so the first day we went with a resort that only costed $50 for the entire day. The staff was extremely rude and annoyed with everyone, the slopes were short, and our boards werent buffed/waxed so we were cutting snow the entire time but somehow I got used to that feeling. Then today, I was blown away by the warmth of the staff. Theyre all happy to help customers and make small talk here and there. Check in and rental went so smoothly and I was pleasantly surprised to find I didnt have to pay $9 for a tiny shoe locker like the other place. With our freshly buffed boards we hit the fresh powder and it felt COMPLETELY different from yesterdays experience at the other place. The slopes were beautiful and had many trails to choose from. I regret going to the other resort for my first day because not only did I not learn properly due to poor care of their boards but also because I was only able to do one slope here before getting too tired and letting my soreness overcome me. Amazing experience overall, thank you Mt Rose!

Great locals mountain only 35 Mins fun Reno. Standard pricey-ness associated wth skiing nowadays but it seemed like being a Season Pass Holder was the way to go (lots of perks with it)Runs themselves were good, with a decent base and grooming, albeit short runs. The main high speed lift will shut down if summit winds get too much, which happens frequently Im told so check the wind forecast before heading out. The mtn also has a good mix of groomed, glades/chutes and a mix.The food was (pricey)but delicious and definitely above average for ski resort food!

I dont want to rate this 5 stars. Why? Because it is the locals hidden secret. I love this mountain because it is so close to Reno, but not nearly as well known as some of the other mountains. If you are looking for a place to ski with your family, I highly recommend Mount Rose. All the workers were very nice and friendly to talk to. My two sons never skied before so they took lessons and it was great. I would recommend the two day ski lesson package if you have the time. The first day, they go over the basics in stations. The second day, they start to put everything together and refine your skiing. One thing that I really liked was there ski check. We rented for two days but after the first day instead of returning your skis, you put it at ski check and the next day you pick your skis up and you are ready to go. No need to go thru ski rental again. Lastly, if you have stuff you do not want to ski with, that is ok, you can basket check it and pick up after you are done skiing.

Really? So you are confronted with paying an extra $10 per skier upon check in, tempting the buyer to compromise on safety. Shameful. We talked to several employees who were embarrassed by the Mt Rose policy. That said, the rental employees were very helpful in explaining our options when the upper half of the mountain was closed due to high winds (1/1/20).
