First time staying at Silver Legacy. Its an older hotel in downtown Reno. We enjoyed our stay. Beds could be better. The only problem is due to COVID there werent a lot of food choices. But, overall, a good visit.
Love staying here, although we did have one time where our entire floor smelled like Marijuana. The family made a joke of it and eventually it went away, but allowed us to have a funny memory of our time there. The staff is very friendly. We requested not to have room service due to covid but staff was always willing to offer extra towels, etc. I love that there are many options for food and things for the kids to do.
Maggie at the front desk was the best example of amazing customer service. She was so kind and sweet. She explained everything so well. The hotel itself was awesome. Room was clean, hotel was clean and fancy. I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN AND RECOMMEND TO OTHERS. THE TV WAS big and we got to watch a lot of great shows. Wifi was simple and free. Parking was easy and I felt my car was safe. This is probably one of the best hotels Ive stayed at. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. It was firm and soft at the same time. 10/10 BOOK YOUR NEXT STAY HERE!
Positive: Location/price Negative: Very smoky smelling
Good place to go for 3 casinos in one. Its a good mixture of things to do for a family. The room we got has a beautiful view of the mountains. Just be careful in the parking garage, people dont know how to park but that can happen anywhere. The only bad thing is the smoking but again its a casino.
Positive: it was very clean and right next to other casinos. Negative: not enough restaurants
Positive: Clean, had air conditioning Negative: Nope
Positive: Close to everything Negative: homeless outside
Positive: It has everything and friendly staff. Negative: Everything was good.
Positive: Location Negative: The room looked old..they need to upgrade
I am still currently staying at the Silver Legacy, but I have been watching how the staff has been able to handle the influx of customers. It is very relaxing on the weekdays when it is less crowded and more of a great get away for people of all ages. The weekends are very stressful because of how people will sit in their lobby rather than walk around. Its almost like people are just getting in the way so that they will be able to stress out the people who already have a room booked. The Players room is the best room, in my opinion mainly because of the large bathroom and shower. Making it kind of a unisex style and friendlier to both male and female customers. Its also very nice to know that the sheets on the beds are always white, even in the smoking rooms. Usually other hotels cheat around this by putting a very bold colored comforters/bed sheet. The view is alright, but the rooms and the service by the staff members is what makes this place better than the other hotels in the area. Their are people that will dress up with a western theme, but that just adds to the Vacation, experience.
Positive: Central location Negative: No mini fridge
Great place to stay while in Reno, needs more food choices inside building that arent $56 dollars for a steak. Great service and reasonable prices. Housekeepers always in a good mood, I like the vibes
Positive: Quiet Negative: Jo
Positive: I had a corner room... I had a wonderful stay Negative: Nope
Negative: A little dated but not bad.
This was a very nice place to stay the weekend. It was a much needed mini vacation. The people are friendly, the rooms are clean and gambling and dining is not far from your room. It even snowed while we were there.
Positive: Fun atmosphere Negative: nope everything great
Fast check in and check out. Theres different restaurants in the hotel. The room was clean and big. The room had an amazing view of Reno. The stuff was very friendly.
Positive: Great location and friendly staff Negative: Everything was perfect
Positive: The convenience in location. The staff was also very helpful. Negative: N/A
Positive: Convenient Negative: Lack of affordable food
The rooms are really nice and at a great price. The layout is pretty maze like but it has a sense of creativity and is really pretty. The color schemes are not too overwhelming and it has some pretty good restaurants.
Most restaurants are closed on a Saturday afternoon???? Really??? Most entrances are exit only. If you walk out 1 door chances are you have to around the block or to another casino to get back it. I wont be back!!!! Had i of know I wouldnt have came hopefully this will save people the headache
With the restrictions in place due to Covid, things were a little different.Pulling into the parking structure, there is no Valet, but they still have Bell service. The Bell staff was outstanding; quick and courteous.Check-in was quick after being checked for temperature and the Lady who checked me in went out of her way to answer a question about the room being sanitized. We requested an ADA room and we were pleasantly surprised how beautifully appointed the room was!! I truly had the best night sleep on that bed (are the mattresses available for purchase?).The casino was a little far for someone who is disabled, but there is a small slot area across from a bar and Ruths Chris.Onto the casino....It was fantastic!! Won $5k off my first $20 put into a slot!! The rest of the time the slots were looser than other hotel/casinos we have stayed in.We will be back hopefully in a couple months and hopefully all restrictions will be removed. I would love to experience everything this hotel has to offer!
Legacy sports bar is the best but the volume of the music is rediculous. Why does the music have to be so loud like a night club. Its to the point you cannot hear your friends or the bartender. Ive been to several other casinos in the area and the music is in the background, not intrusive. Also where is Max the bartender at the sports bar. Steve is great but we need max back. Thank you and I hope the music gets turned down. Im not the only one that has mentioned this to the bartender either.
Honestly, we didnt go to the casino part... We were on a road trip and Reno was our halfway point, so we decided to stay the night. We chose the Silver Legacy because of their Dealers Choice room booking option... It was cheaper than most of the surrounding motels! I felt like the covid precautions they had put in place were good- temp scan when you walk in, masks required, etc. We also never saw another person on our floor... Not sure if thats because we got in so late or if they were all on the casino floor, but we never ran into anyone. The bed was fantastic, the shower was AMAZING! Seriously... Ive never stayed at a hotel with water pressure that good. And the cherry on top was that they put us on the 29th floor!! What a view! We will definitely stay here again... And probably for more than just a quick stop on a road trip!
Positive: location
Positive: Location and front office staff Negative: they didnt clean my room for 3days..checked in and found blood on blanket..NOT MINE..
Appears clean for the most part, but their housekeeping is very hit or miss. Our first room had a blood stain on the ceiling in the bathroom sink area, from someone ejecting blood from a syringe, and the rest of the room had things like bottle caps and Advil pills on the floor. It was obvious that the cleaning wasnt done very throughly. The front desk very promptly apologized and changed our room. Unfortunately, our second room also had a blood smear, on the wall, at eye level. The bathroom had a square of toilet paper in the toilet, with pubic hairs and dried sticky urine on the seat. Our 3rd room was Exceptionaly Clean. Id like to believe it is just a weak link in the housekeeping chain.Reasonable prices for hotel stays. The staff is super helpful and so polite. There are a lot of connected casinos and bars. Visually a very cool environment. Right in the heart of a lot of Renos visitor hotspots. The Pokémon Go scene is great here too!
First time here with my family - I don’t want to sound nasty or rude in this review because it is not my character. However, this has been one of the worst hotel/casino my family and I have ever stayed in. We were spoken to so rudely in 3 different occasions - Let me remind you this was our first time here. We are a very nice and polite family and being new to this place we didn’t seem to find the cashier location - kindly asked a lady working the floor. We asked our question, this woman spoke to us so rude, while she was speaking to us in that tone she was making a really mean face at us. Advised my husband for us to walk away. Second incident - called to make a reservation at Ruth’s steakhouse - woman answers the phone, my husband asks “could I please make a reservation for tonight?” (Halloween night) this woman replies “we are completely booked” and hangs up (the face of disappointment on my husband’s face). It is so infuriating to be spoken to this way. Customer service at this point for us is 0. Lastly but not least - We witnessed a gentleman come up to my husband and asked him to stay 6 feet apart, he was simply leaning over and placing chips on the table to retrieve the ones he could cash out. He was behind the wooden stick of the table and this gentleman was in his face and my husband kept asking him to please move way because he was right beside him not keeping his distance. Very rude and unprofessional staff. We were so excited to visit this new place but we have agreed to never come here again. This place does not have great customer service and are very rude and unprofessional. You lost 2 great customers.
Fun times playing slots and they replaced my Ceasars rewards card. Thank you. Enjoyed the coffee shop and the selection of pastries. Delicious.
This is our go to place when we stay in reno..Great location & nice rooms..We like to stay as high up as possible, above the 30th floor & they always come threw for us..Also love the brew brothers pub...
Love that it connects silver legacy with Eldorado and with circus circus. Circus circus is as cool as it sounds and maybe more for kids,(if you bring them along!). Look for live circus events!! Exciting and fun for everybody.
Positive: very friendly, responsive and accommodating staff. Negative: no. everything was just fine
Positive: Customer Service. Negative: Lots of homeless surrounding the property exterior pan-handling for money.
I enjoyed the atmosphere. There were lots of machines to choose from. It wasnt overly crowded. The rewards staff was super helpful.
Positive: Clean and friendly
My brother in law and nephew took me here. Its bi, bold, and enjoyable too. I didnt have great luck on the tables or slots, but I usually dont anywhere. We returned later with the whole family for the buffet. The food was good. The prices are fair. You get a good variety of international cuisine. It isnt a 4 or five star restaurant situation. I dont know why anyone would expect that. But Ive seen some nasty reviews expecting that. We all enjoyed it. And if youre looking for a reasonable priced meal that gives you a variety of things to choose from... Give them a try. Well return!
I CANNOT say enough about the hotel. We had a gorgeous room at a great price with a view of the snowy mountains. The staff was amazing! Room service was impeccable. The room service gal even emailed me a menu before we arrived. They gave complimentary sparkling wine while we waited to check in. All around the best time Ive had in Reno. Gambled about 100 and left with about twice that. Love the giant wheel. WONDERFUL.
Was employed there till last night and think i was fired for being homeless and unable to keep my phone charged. I got there last night to clock in and was told to leave without any explanation as to why i was told to leave. Unfortunately for me it was too late for me to get my blankets from storage and the shelter didnt have any open beds available. So just my luck i had to walk around Reno all night hoping to stay warm when the temp was 30 out. Got to love how they treat employees that got negatively affected by the pandemic.Update with photo. Ok owner you say not your practice and not your employee then how do you explain me in your uniform that remains on site and if you give me an hour or so i can take a photo of the silver legacy name tag and the employee badge that is used to clock in? The lies dont look good on you.
Negative: The A/C in our room was terrible, it took 4 visits from maintenance and 2 sweaty nights in bed for them to fix it.
Had a great time!! Better time once I started winning. Only a couple of restaurants are open fir dinning and its hard to find waiters for drinks while gambling. Hope that gets better.
We stayed in a Players Spa Suite instead of a regular king room and its amazing. Its a fairly inexpensive upgrade, but you get 4 times the room. Spend a little more on the room, and youll feel better about losing $ on the casino floor!
Positive: Location is good. Restaurant has good service and food was good.
Positive: It was nice and quiet. No noise from other rooms Negative: A moth in the window
Housekeeping will just walk into your room without knocking around 9am when checkout is scheduled for Noon and they will repeat this every hour until you leave. Make sure to use the door locks. They need to get them to stop doing this. When reported to the front desk, it was told to us that this is an ongoing issue with many complaints. The casino and was great but not very busy. Most restaurants are closed as well.
Wife and I drive up from Las Vegas about three times a year. Especially nice during the Christmas Holiday. Most of the people in Reno are nice and friendly. Rooms at the Silver Legacy are clean and spacious. Food is good with plenty of Restaurants at your fingertips. Reasonable too. Unfortunately at this point in time due to covid-19 we are unable to travel there. Let me say we miss it tremendously.
Clean, super friendly staff. The check in lady, the person checking your temperature. The hotel has the nicest man guiding you and answering questions standing in the lobby . Definitely would stay here again . I wish Id remember the mans name in the lobby . I want to say chuck but not sure. My husband and i bumped into him in the evening again. He assisted us with walking us to borrow a wheel chair. People like this is what makes our stay pleasant .
Positive: Updated clean rooms
We had a wonderful stay here. It was clean and we loved our room. I took off one star because ALL the tables were soooo expensive! I miss the $5-$15 paigow tables they used to have. Now all were $25.
Machines are so tight. Youd think they would loosen those games, pull in some winners, to attract people back in after quarantine. Not as many hand sanitizers as promised either. And not once did anyone come around serving drinks. No interest at all in going back.
Check in was smooth, casino was decent hard to get a drink, food was great! That being said our room was terrible, air conditioner barley worked, 420 was etched into the bathroom door, room had cracked wallpaper, rips in wall paper, and weird splotches on the bathroom wall. Also the moment we walked into the hall way on the sixth floor the whole corridor smelled like weed and so did our room. For the fees this place charges on top of the room rate I’d expect a better room. The only reason I didn’t give this a one is because the clerked that helped us was great as was our waitress.
It was a great spot to wind down and get some r&r the hotel was at a great rate of 95 dollars for a night had a blast the rooms were clean nice and comfy def would return again
Stayed in the Players spa suiteVery nicely remodeled. Spa suite is a soaking tub not a jetted tub. Nice view of city, pretty at night. Room was large which was very nice as Im in a wheelchair. No grab bars in bathroom or soaking tub. I mention this as I told them I was handicapp and they told me they dont really have handicapp rooms after the fact.Covid issues are frustrating for wheelchairs as you can go out all entrances but not in. I think they need to use signage to point to where the in entrance is located during this time. Most restaurants were closed which I expected. Brew brothers was the best option for food in hotel. We had fish and chips and a ceasa salad the 1st night and second night pizza and giant pretzel. It was all good and service was good. The cafe was fine for breakfast but lunch / dinner food was not very good.We had nachos that said ground beef or chicken, I asked for chicken and received beef which was a shreede beef in greasy sauce. Not ground beef. Hubby had pot stickers which was ok but there dipping sauce is pure soy sauce, yuck. We also had egg rolls, yuck and spicy chicken wings which were very good. The casino was ok except machines are not paying out, I played 250$ and never won more that 3$ at various slots. Never saw anyone win more than 30$ in 4 days.Overall, I liked staying in row.Enjoyed going to a antique shop a few blocks away. There was a thai food next door that looked promising but didnt try, wish I did though.
Downtown Reno seems gutted. Food is pretty good. Give these places some business. I think it seems safe to me.
Positive: Super clean updated rooms. Negative: The maids were yelling back and forth to each other, down the halls, to each other. Very loud doors when people come in and out.
We came for our wedding. Our room was so big and clean, the room service was delicious and quick. The staff is very helpful and professional. We took advantage of massages and rooftop swimming as well. We loved it so much we plan on coming back very soon. Since its on the row we also got top play at circus circus and enjoy many options of entertainment.
Good times at the Silver Legacy. Great entertainment, food, drinks and hospitality!
Prices have gone up at the tables but the atmosphere and energy is still there. Cafe food is delicious
A lovely hotel, but the clientele doesn’t respect the space. This hotel has such potential, unfortunately it isn’t respected by it’s guests. Folks cramming into elevators, dried spit on mirrors in elevators, loud guests not respecting after hours noise reduction. On the upside the casino floor was great, great views and location, good housekeeping services, excellent front desk attendants.Definitely worth the slight price increase compared to the other “cost effective” options in the area.
Im very disappointed with my stay at sliver legacy this passed weekend. I requested a non smoking room. The registration clerk told me that my room/level were non smoking. Thats not true, as soon as I get off the elevator. I can smell smoke. I went back and asked for a non smoking room. Sliver legacy registration told me again that my room/level were non smoking. Registration told me that all the room were fully booked so they cant accommodate me. I have never write a bad review for any hotel before. This is how disappointed I was of this hotel. I would give sliver legacy minus zero.
Positive: Need to clean better
We were only there to have dinner at Ruths Chris Steakhouse but this casino and the interior appointments are a cut above most and certainly anything in Reno. The silver mine theme is front and center with the huge rendition of a mine operation that must be close to 70 feet tall.We did visit a suite rented by a friend and were very impressed with the subdued but elegant decor and furnishings.Easy indoor parking and I recommend a visit.
Very clean establishment. Waitress are timely with drinks. Great spot being right downtown.
The best steak Ive had in years was at Ruth Chris. I loved that one pound ribeye.
Positive: The Casino & food was pretty good. Negative: Housekeeping was poor, the pool was dirty & on top of it. The pool only stay open till 8pm.
Negative: Waiting for the elevators took forever. Having a limited amount of people in an elevator is understandable, but it didnâ€t seem like all of them were operational.
Negative: rooms were not clean after the first night. long black hair on the restroom floor there before we even unpacked. no fresh bed sheets or towels on day 2 of our stay. for the price we paid not worth staying there again.
Positive: Clean and covid19 ready. Location was excellent. Negative: Checking in was cumbersome. The hotel had lost our reservation and treated us like it was our fault and made us wait for their convenience.
Positive: The staff helped with an upgrade or we would have left. Negative: The room we got was dirty, and a ton of noise. The tv didnâ€t work and we wer about to leave around 11pm when they finally upgraded us to a better room.
The room was okay enough as far as furnishings. However, the door wasnt latched and just pushed open when I arrived which was unsettling. More of an issue was the fact that my non-smoking room absolutely reeked of stale cigarettes as though someone had smoked a pack a day in the room for the last 20 years. Im still nauseous from the smell.
We stay at Silver Legacy every time we go to Reno. It is hands down the best hotel in Reno. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. There are plenty of restaurants and shoppes. The room service is good, quick and not at all expensive. Use your players card to get free rooms.
Very nice doesnt smell like smoke, many slots to choose from, lots of dining options, helpful staff
So glad they were strictly enforcing social distancing and proper wearing of face coverings. I witnessed a casino worker asking a slot player who was wearing her mask below her nose to cover her nose for proper wearing. Safety is key to remaining open. Bravo Silver Legacy. A safe place for gaming and fun.
Its and nice place. I won a little money which is always good but the only reason why I give it 4 stars is because they have a most of the entrances closed and they dont have any signs telling you where to enter at.
Awesome casino, amazing rooms, our had a jacuzzi tub big enough for 3 or 4 people. With a view of the mountain range. Bathroom was humongous. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. But a few things have changed in the biggest little city in the world since everything that has been going on in the world.YOU CAN NO LONGER WALK IN 1 of I think 8 or so doors on the corners on the street level you may exit but NOT GO BACK IN. You have to enter at one designated place at the far end at Circus Circus, of the huge joined together hotel casino. Or through the parking garage entrance at the hotel.
Positive: This hotel was very clean and did a good job at making sure people kept they distance Negative: I didnâ€t like the lack of information whe I allied I was told one thing an when I arrive it was another so I suggest staff to start communicating
Lots of things to do here beyond gambling. A dozen different bars, games and horses to watch in the sports book. Starbucks right in the casino if youre staying away from alcohol. Pleasant staff that will help you anyway they can. They also keep their eyes open for issues, like underage kids or gamblers who are enjoying more alcohol than is good for them.
I placed a reservation for a king bed in a non smoking room... I checked in and was told that there were no rooms above the 7th floor, the pin pad machine was down and it took about ten minutes to finish the transaction after the person checked with what I assumed was the manager. My sister in law checks in 5 minutes behind me and was able to get a room closer to our party so the attendee lied. I get to my room and it was really outdated, had what looked like two full beds, smelled of smoke and there was a camera package underneath the bed. They must not have cleaned much. My sister in laws room was on the 21st floor and and looked nice, had a king bed, nice TV and nice shower. When I complained, lady didnt do anything...
Great hotel and casino plus the old silver mineThe food at Cafe Central was good and portions were abundant.
I forgot to cash in my $50 ticket. At least I now have a reason to go back!
Pretty nice casino. I wish I knew what basic room meant before I got this room. It is like a closet filled with two beds. And the entire building has a weird odor. Noticed it the moment I walked through the doors from the parking garage.
Speaking on the hotel experience ONLY...Room was dirty. Definitely needs updating, but the lack of cleanliness was absurd.Yeah, those moldy fries were NOT ours.$1100 for 4 days??
I will never book a room here again. The first time they charged me two hundred dollars after I checked out claiming some sort of extra fee. The second time, again I booked via Priceline and they when I got there they wanted to add more money to my original receipt. And they didnt even have the room I paid for ready. This was at ten in the evening. Never again.
First room, on a no smoking floor, was filled with stale smoke in the air. Room that we were given after that, same thing. Headaches each night. No entrance to get into hotel from all 4 streets! Unbelievable! The coffee shop and Ruth Chris Steak house was the highlight. Never will stay there again!
Incredible room, with the best view. Great value, classy, and comfortable.
Very nice would have been better if they had microwave in rooms
Nice hotel and casino, connected to two other casinos. Not even half f&b were open. Most retail was closed. (due to Covid 19, it was first weekend of reopening). We left the hotel to find dinner, but it was extremely difficult to find or way back into hotel or casino. Handles were taken off outside entry ways. After a while, we got lucky and got there opportunity to enter while someone was exiting. Rooms are nice and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Definitely going back in the future to stay here. Very comfortable, curtious staff, security was outstanding. I will use the pool and gym next time. Thank you all.
If you come here please make sure you bring your own pillows. Theirs are not sufficient. Very hard and high and they provide no replacements. Multiple requests and nothing. Just bring your own pillows guys
