Lovely place for kids to touch sea creatures. Unfortunately it is now closes. A thank you to the nice and enthusiastic people working there.
Lots of fun and lines for the rides are usually 5 minutes max. (During winter and spring) Dummer is likely a different story. It is very fun for young and old. Parking can be a hassle as the lots get full, but if you go during off peak hours its no problem at all
This is a great place to take grandparents with your kids. I took both of my girls and my parents here and had a great time feeling and touching the sea animals and plants. They are closing in June, so get out to see this place before its gone. :(
Great for kids and the touch tank tours are really fun! Our toddler enjoyed the coloring area and the fish pool outside. It is small though, I wouldnt expect most people to spend more than an hour there (excluding the tour).
I didnt enjoy it that much. My 9 year old on the other hand really enjoyed it. Its not free they charge 5 dollars for adults children are free with the paying adult. This facility is going to be shutting down & closing to the public the end of June 2019.
The SEA Lab is closing this June for good! We went today and heard this. They are only open right now on Saturdays. I think you could call and arrange a tour.
This place is great for a small intimate touch tank tour and getting close with local marine life. If you want to visit, come in on a Saturday and have the opportunity to feed the fish (ask the front desk for more info)! They are closed during the week so if you come by and see an open door dont be fooled (like I was) theyre are only open for school field trips.
My mother in law volunteered here for years before moving to Oregon. She absolutely loved it there.
You can touch and feel sea creatures and feed fish! Awesome!
Fun place to view sea life for young & old alike.
This is a great place to bring the family when visiting Redondo Beach and King Harbor. Low-cost aquarium and fun activities for kids on weekends.
Great place to check out ocean creatures. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
You cannot go here without learning something! You can pet some of the fish (there is a particularly friendly bat ray that adores people and comes up to them to get stroked - I swear he was a dog in a previous life!) What most people probably dont realize is the amount of Conservation work the SeaLab does - from rescuing sea life that gets caught up in the cooling system of the nearby power plant to raising local native plants which are then placed in their rightful spots in the sand dunes, to taking part in beach clean up and being involved in the whale migration along the South Bay coast, this wonderful place is a great educational day out for the whole family - and the bat ray will be delighted to see you!
Amazing place to learn about sea creatures and water sources
Great place to take the kids she loved it and they even had painting and crafts on the day we went
Its only five dollars adults and kids free for a really nice experience.
So they have a large petting pool outside...that you cant pet anything ....lame lame lame. No wonder there wasnt anyone there on a busy tourist filled weekend...wasted 15 bucks.
Excellent spot to host a low key birthday party for kids, educational and fun all at once.
Great place to take kids for cheap. The touch pools are great.
I LOVE the sea lab. Today I went as a field trip and the guides are soo nice.
Great little place to take your little ones. Right on the beach and if you do the tour there are 6 tanks of different critters the kids get to touch. Its cheap too.
This place is a little museum for children but not worth the price, They close at 4:00 pm on weekdays so it is impossible to get there after school and have time to explore. If you walk in at 3:45 they charge full price. On line I saw reviews that said it was free or cost $5. Their posted price was much higher. I cant remember how much but I was shocked. The exhibits do not explain educate well and the staff is uninterested in answering questions.I strongly advise you try the Cabrillo Martine Aquarium in San Pedro. You pay for parking, but the museum is free and has far more children friendly hours. It is (conservative guess) ten times the size, is highly instructive, has different age appropriate displays and an informed staff. They also have childrens classes, adult lectures, summer camp, grunion runs, and much more. Yes, Free! There is no comparision
Small place but its worth visiting if you are at the beach already
Awesome place to take my students to explore. We loved it!
Great place to take your kids to learn about sea life. All they ask is a small voluntary donation that is well worth the cause.
The Sea Lab is a great place for kids to learn about the ocean and its environment and a safe place to pet the sharks!
Such a cute little spaced filled to capacity with fun. Make sure to do the outdoor touch tank tour in the back.
Perfect for a quick way to teach the kiddos about sea creatures. It is small, but atleast my kid did not get tired of walking as oppose to a bigger aquarium.
Great place to take my family.
Small place, but free. We donated. Took are 2 year old and killed about 30 minutes. It was worth it. Note: probibly better if you take a guided tour.
Great place to bring your family!
Great place, my kids love it...!!
Interesting had some fun
Great hands on experience. Staff was very friendly.
You can pet some of the fish.
Its free. Donation recommended.
AMAZING PLACE TO SEE FISH
Small but a good stop, great for preschool
Cool
Sadly, closing 6/30
Gorgeous place
Wonderful place for the family
Interesting!
Nice place but parking is horrible for buses
First time here was 14 years ago. Still awesome!
Best field-trip ever!!!
A horn shark rolled over so I could pet its belly, the sting ray gave me a high five, and I got anemone goo all up on my finger. Maximum stars!
