Many trails. We picked a route that included some switchbacks and decent elevation change. Paths were clear, and easy to follow, although having a map helps, given the number of paths. We walked around the Nolde Mansion. It looks like there are a fair number of activity stations and things to do for young people when rangers give tours.

Well maintained trails, not too strenuous. The gravel on the paths made them hikable even in wet weather because it prevented mud. And dogs are allowed!

Good spot for our impromptu picnic and walk with our dog. Great that we saw it as we were passing by. The trails are mini loops, some you feel in your legs as you walk uphill, but not long at all and you always hear the traffic from the road. The stream is peaceful, but parents would need to get creative in order for kids to enjoy the low impact park. Maybe learn about sawmill first before you go. Does have indoor flush toilets and sinks with running water.

Even in the winter, when the colors are full and dreary, this place is absolutely beautiful. The trails around the education center are well maintained and well marked. The education center itself is informative and interesting.

Just a heads up. While walking on the watershed trail a little past the stone spring house & the cinderblock structures going toward the barn area I stopped & told my husband 2 listen. It was very obvious there was a rattle snake behind me. I am thankful that I did not turn around & look or step back. My husband who was on my left extended his hand & I walked calmly over 2 him. Frankly I was surprised. Just b aware of where u r walking. This was a very narrow part of the path that didnt seemed 2 b walked on alot. I havent seen any copperheads yet. Unfortunately, they dont give warning. So it appears they arent in hibernation yet.

This is my place of peace. The pines are giant, restorative and help me breathe in the middle of a moment of panic, fear, or discovery. I married my true love here; in the woods, calm and breezy, cool and kind. Best choice Ive ever made. This forest feels like home to my mind, heart and spirit.

Very pretty with moderate traffic. The trails are easy and scenic. The main trail from the lot traverses the creek funnel via a walk over bridge. It then follows the creek to a T where you go right. That takes you up to the mansion and beyond. No bicycles, dogs OK by on leash and poop pickup is a must. No trash cans. Very pretty state Forest but needs a lil better maintenance. This again is the Sawmill entrance/side of the park/forest.
