I always love getting out to this park, especially around autumn. I planned on a short walk down a trail and ended up circling the lake taking pictures and enjoying the change of the season. There were many people enjoying the numerous wooden decks surrounding the lake, which allows for fishing in a secluded and private setting. The walk isnt challenging for the most part with little to very mild inclines, its great for all ages. Just make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes as the trails are gravel.

Fantastic beach area. Plenty of shade and picnic spots. I just wish they would open the kiosk again and maybe have kayak and canoe rentals available.

The beach area is fun. Kids will enjoy it. The picnic area is small but the view is amazing.

Perfect for jet skis! A very nice and clean park and nice big beach and even an area to dock your boats and jet skis if needed by the beach!

This is a lovely state park. Has a terrific beach and large shade trees. Lots of parking.

Great place for an afternoon of fun! Not crowded, easy to socially distance with your family. There was quite a bit of goose poop but other than that very clean. Will definitely be back!

First time using the beach here,usually I just kayak, it was very pleasant. Plenty of parking, handicap spots were availible, picnic tables availible, plenty of shaded areas, there was a small playground for the kiddos, and the restrooms were pretty clean and stocked for a busy afternoon. The beach its self was pretty clean as well. I will not hesitate to bring my family here again.

Nice place to go boating. However, the picnic/grill area was swarming with massive amounts of bees.

Pretty quiet during the week

Animak faces, tampons, and trash are everywhere. V-limited trash cans that are located far from bbq areas. This beach is very beautiful and needs some care and observation. I like to go there but most of the time Im very occupied with how to make it clean for my kids I even pick up others trash.

The kids had fun. During this quarantine any outting is awesome.

It was fine but the bathrooms are locked so no bathrooms or changing area The water was pretty warm and there wasnt hardly anyone there when we went around 11 so it was nice.

Still a large, shady picnic area with a lovely sand swim beach that hasnt been ruined by over use. I want to sing its praises, but hope the secret doesnt get out.

The lake is Beautiful. The beach however is Not very clean, goose poo everywhere, and quite a bit of open drug use.

Not a lot of people and a nice way to spend a summer day.Water is a bit gross, try not to drink it! Lol

Normally I would give West Branch 5 Stars because it is one of the nicer public beachesGave 4 stars because was disappointed in the amount of trash that was on the ground and in the sand on the beachI feel that should be taken care ofOther than that a nice place to swim clean lake

The swimming beach is terrible. The sand base is mud as u walk out into the water its like walking into a mud bath. The beach is nasty west branch really needs to address this as for this swimmer I wont b back

It is clean, has a pretty large beach area and picnic tables. It also has grills, so you need to arrive a bit early to snag a table with a grill. Being beach blankets, a table cover and all the food and drinks you can carry. Plan to make a day of it and be prepared to have fun!

I love going here. Great place to swim or just picnic. Plenty of tables and space. Its always clean when Ive been there. Bathroom is clean as well. Love that they have showers so you can rinse off sand before leaving.

Nice quiet place to hike. Close to home but far enough away from the city to clear your head. Its nice they still offer swimming at the beach. Three generations of our family have now come here.

Been going here for years. Great place to go and relax with the family. Large enough to accommodate many people and not feel cramped.

I come to this beach often. The lake is pretty clear and sanitary, the beach is almost never overcrowded or loud, and the whole area is usually very clean. As far as I can tell, the park employees arrive very early in the morning and put the sand back in order, remove everything from the tables and parking area, and clean the bathrooms.The only outstanding problem with this, however, is that everything really does mean they remove EVERYTHING from the tables, including personal affects, such as bags, wallets, towels, clothing and food.There is no sort of office or lost and found at the beach as far as I can tell, and when attempting to call the park itself (not the beach), I received no answer. When I decided to just take a look myself, it turned out all the items I left on my picnic table had been moved directly to the dumpster. Since it was early morning and nobody else had been at the park yet, they were not covered in trash, but of course it is in no way dignifying to dig through the dumpster for your personal artifacts.All in all, the beach will be clean and it is a great place to spend summer days, just dont leave your things lying around unless youre a fan of dumpster diving.

Ive grown up going out to west branch, I just wish they would update it a little bit. Maybe put some new sand on the beach and clean up the bathrooms. If youre just looking for a place to put a boat in or swim for a few hours then it is a good place to do so.

Love going here. A great way to spend a weekend with the kids and unplug... Assuming no one brings their giant speaker and blasts music that no one but them wants to hear. That sometimes happens here and its annoying as all get out. But other than that, its free fun

Fun for family. Cared for beach. Swimming in the lake. Not life guard monitored. Not patrolled by park rangers. Have been there when loud foul mouthed people ruined the day.

If people going there would throw their own trash away it would be a nice place. So i dont know what to give it.

The grounds and beaches are well maintained and in a very easy to get to and convenient location. All locations are well marked and the park is easy to traverse around.

I love this place! I was there yesterday with a co worker and we had an awesome time. The beach is way cleaner than others that ive gone to and wasnt crowded. The distance is ony 40 minutes. I will definitely bring my family here from now on.

I absolutely love this place! The beach sand is pretty rough, because its not real beach sand, so I like to wear water shoes.. And the water can be very murky colored.. but overall this is a nice place to spend the day! I wish the beach were bigger, because it can get very crowded.. But as long as you dont mind a million people, course sand, and brown water, I suggest it!

We prepared for a picnic for the whole day at West Branch Beach we got there it was filthy nasty wheres all the sand its all mud no sand beach we stayed there if we were lucky one hour cuz it was so nasty it used to be so pretty there nice Beach what happened I couldnt wait to leave its so disgusting

Clean beach. But the grassy knoll was full of goose poop on the way to the beach. Lots of kids and families. Water was okay, full of seaweed and mushy sand. Totally a lake, not always right for a city girl.

Kind of nice if you dont have an alternative for swimming. A lot of nasty people were and are constantly here saw grown people as well as kids use the bathroom in the water more than once and think it was funny even though there were a ton of people there. I dont reccomend this as a family place
