Loved the Celtic Throne show!!! Wish the theater would have been more full because the young men and women, kids were incredible. Ages were from 3-23, the dancers were fantastic, the male lead outstanding, singers were amazing and the music was beautiful. The young adults in the show choreographed it themselves, it is incredibly family supported and numerous families (siblings, cousins) were in the show. I highly recommend anyone whose town/city sees this show advertised to go see it, it is well worth the money!

Great park location. There are 3 diffrent kiddie park areas with scavenger hunts. Very updated playground equipment and never too busy. The lake is perfect size to walk around. Great location for picnics or family gatherings. Safe location due to police presence. Lots of running and biking areas available. Recommended location for families.

I went to see Bob Seger with a couple of close friends of mine and we had excellent seats! Bob is as sharp as ever and his live music sounds exactly like his albums. I think I knew every word to every song he sang! Hes just a part of the soundtrack of Life in America. The Rushmore plaza is a great facility with multiple arenas and venues. The place is immaculate. Its a first class operation. We are considering bringing our tour there next year and have already visited with management. The arena we were in holds about 5500 spectators. Were excited to come play here! Watch for Back to the 90s Hip Hop tour!

We attend the Rapid City Sports Show every year. We love the variety of all the vendors in attendance. Just fun to walk around and get free samples, get info about different sports packages and check out the boats and campers. There is an elevator and an escalator, too. We had a great time!

This place was ok. Their was a lot of drunk and homeless people in the park. The officer on duty didnt so anything when a drunk guy kept on yelling at us. Also there was a lot if vandalism and graffiti on the monuments and info plates.

Had a great afternoon at the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo! The Civic Center takes good care of both their vendors and their customers during this busy event. Had one little glitch and Jayne fixed it up immediately; she is definitely a huge asset to their team!!

Event center accessible from both east and west parking lots, with free parking during Stock Show and Junk Sale, besides multiple other vendors present. Additional overflow parking both sides, across street. Multiple event arenas, electronic building maps and event schedules, and event Box Offices. Multiple food and drink vendors. Clean restrooms. Good experience.

A great place to stay, staff is very friendly.

The facility is nice. The food service is VERY Limited. We were ther from 8 am until 7 pm and were told we cant bring in outside food.

Its a nice place. However, I think it is rediculous that they dont have water fountains/refills AND the cheapest water is $3 for a small bottle. If amything should be reasonably available at sporting events...IT SHOULD BE WATER!

We had some confusion on the tickets. But they resolved the issue very quickly and gave us tickets to The Whiskey Myers show that we came to see and it is a very nice place. I would come to another show here

Great events, easy access. Of course concession prices are high, but that is to be expected. At the Rapid City Rush games, there are many food and drink options beyond your normal concession stand fare.

The civic center is still very nice, but with the construction on the building the parking is kinda bad.

The Ice Arena is a great place for a concert! We had good seating, and the sound throughout was great! Difficult to get thru crowds of people at times... But that was the only issue!

Great venue. Shuttle for parking. We went to the monster trucks and it was a great event! We sat 3 rows from the top and the view was good!

Its great now but where are you going to park when 25% of the now available space is gone to a 180 million dollar arena? You thought theyd build it on top of the existing arena? Walk from downtown? Maybe walk from the Rushmore Mall?Please....Oh thats right tax payers....next we will be paying for a 100 million dollar parking ramp because their isnt a place to park.Like they didnt know?Who are you voting for your mayor this year?City council?I can tell you who Im not voting for.ADA improvements were all we needed.Funny how easy it is to spend other peoples money.

We travel every year the last weekend of April to take the wonderful dance classes and evening events at Black Hills Dance Festival Its nice to have it in such a lovely attractive building. I love the escalator. After all day dance classes its nice to ride it.

LNI, stock show, and much more to love

Ive gone here once a year for 5 years now for the YFS Kids Fair. Plenty of room inside but it lacks in parking on the outside. They always have something going on so it is a great place to take the family. I do wish the public will allow them to expand. It is a great addition to the community.

For an older convention center, it has aged well. Have attended 2 graduations here, as well as numerous car shows and a couple of concerts 30+ years ago. Its kept neat and clean, has good ADA access, and good signage. The location is central and convenient. As someone who now lives in a big city and has a new appreciation for it, I must also mention that there is plenty of FREE parking!

Rapid City deserves better. This is a small and outdated facility. Ill never go to another concert here, the acoustics are so horrible it ruins the concert. Its a decent venue for the Sportsmans shows, but the space limits them. The nearby park is really nice. Parking is good also.

Whether it be the people checking your tickets to helping you find your seat always friendly ... the beverage carts are always yummy and fast, sadly no straws ... the venue is big with plenty of bathrooms

Great concert venue for a small city. Also enjoyed watching a hockey game here. Plenty of parking and relatively clean restrooms for such a large place.

The Civic Center serves the Black Hills/western South Dakota region with a population of 250,000+ people. They host national and international conferences, regional events, touring Broadway shows/concerts and sporting events. We are blessed to have this world-class venue with great facilities and outstanding staff right here in our city!

Was there for soccer... The floors they played on were slippery and dangerous. There were no water fountains and so would have to pay 3 dollars for a bottle of water. Saturday evening had at least 4 events at this location and so parking was HORRIBLE.

My friends and I attended the Spring Recital for the Academy of Dance. The lighting and sound in the theater was excellent. The seats were comfortable and even though we were in the back we could still see - the guests sitting in front of us did not obstruct the view at all. The entrance to the theater was unobstructed and we were able to get in and out without standing in long lines. An excellent experience!

Smokers should have access to somewhere they dont have to clear security upon reentry. And there needs to be more liquor vendors during events to cut down on wait times.

I was there for the Black Hills Pow Wow. It was terrific and people friendly. There were a variety of venues available for a variety of performances & shows.

Amenities and location. One of the best in Rapid City.

It was a long wait to check in and once checked in I had a devil of a time to get the internet on my devices. I had to go to the front dest and they had trouble. Finally, after a half hour of trying I was able to log on. Other than that the hotel is clean if not a bit worn.

I typically go to this location for the Rapid City Rush Hockey team. However whether this builidng is being used for a big event or a small blood drive. The staff inside are always great people.

The Civic Center is dated. It is divided up into a series of different size rooms. It feels like a place where several different people chose to expand it without thinking about how the building would flow once it was complete.

Its a good venue for large events (graduation, sporting events, entertainment). However the city seems to be gambling on it being the only venue in town and as such prices for all concessions are huge! There are many better venues in Rapid that have really cool shows in a much smaller environment. Id recommend one of those as a spectator (since youre normally closer to the stage and often get to meet the proformer but thats personal preference)

Ive been to several events here, and been rather impressed each time. Staff is helpful and diligent, the seats are quite good, and parking is generally good.

I enjoyed our time out there at the LNI Activities. The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center housed all the Lakota Nation Sports, Academics, and Artisan Competitions, as well as some Native owned small business vendors. We all had a great time, both staff and students. Great memories.

The Shrine Circus performance at our Rushmore Plaza Civic Center was WONDERFUL. The Shriners that were at the performance we went to were very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. We hope to see them again next year.The arena needs to be made bigger so we can get bigger acts to come and perform in Rapid City to bring growth and revenue to the city year round.

I love the historical sceneries. You can learn so much in each little window. A great place for concerts and fun activities like the kids fair, the stock show, rock show, gun shows, and much more!

Awesome place! My daughters honors choir concert was here. Its a beautiful place and fun for the whole family.

Attended the Rapid City stock show here in January. The layout is good and there were plenty of vendors and events going on. The only advice I would have is to wear layers... Some areas were on the cool side while the upper floor exhibits can get quite warm, especially when it gets busy. If you arrive close to opening hours it will be a bit easier to navigate.
