This was my second time at the resort. This time its for our November birthdays (my daughters and I). The resort is gorgeous, as usual, and the service experienced in the property was great. But was a little disappointed that a couple of the items that were indicated to the concierge ahead of our stay werent acknowledged. I wished we were able to partake in the outdoor archery experience and a couple of other items that were mentioned through concierge questionnaire. Im sure it was a minor hiccup. We hope to be able to come back to the resort soon!

This property/landscaping is absolutely spectacular. Stunning view from any location. Perfect for rest and relaxation. Stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and it has all the comforts of home - fully stocked kitchen, garage, extra blankets, etc. If there is something you need, just pick up the phone and they will do their best to try an accommodate you. The on demand golf cart transport is very convenient. Golf course was always busy so definitely make reservations. The beach isnt swimmable but there is plenty of water activities there and a short drive to popular beaches. Nature trails are a must and they are many in the area. Trader Joes a couple minutes drive down the road. In room coffee is absolutely delicious!! I found myself grabbing a pastry from Sea Beans and having breakfast and coffee every morning out on my patio. It would have been nice to have housekeeping every day but I understand given the current climate. I had so-so service at the restaurants but overall I would certainly recommend a weekend getaway for couples, family or friends. The sunsets literally brought tears to my eyes. Originally, I was back and forth if I should choose this resort and in the end, Im glad I did. Beyond beautiful.

Amazing from valet to room service staff was amazing. The resort is phenomenal great view of the ocean. Variety of food was great. I will return.

One of the most pristine ocean views in SoCal that will transport you away from the city noise and bring a sense of calm relaxation to your body the moment you set foot on property. You don’t need to get on a plane and fly hours away to find paradise for those that live in the city of Angels. We are so lucky to an oasis right here in our backyard!

Great property with amazing views and a feeling like youve left LA just a matter of minutes from home. Terranea Resort is one of LAs hidden treasures located in Palos Verdes. It has award-winning restaurants on its campus which possess affordable price levels. With 102 acres of plush landscaping with trails and pools in tow, its definitely one of the best resorts to attend while on lockdown. They deliver tons of stations to take your temperature and sanitize your hands. Their staff as well as patrons seem to be extremely vigilant when it comes to social distancing. Overall, its a gorgeous property with a boat load of amenities. Theres also a golf course nearby so you set out to work on your swing. If you ever receive a chance to stay on their 6th floor of the main building (where the lobby is located) the views are spectacular. Perfect place for a b/romance, corporate gathering or a staycation during these hectic and unpredictable times.

Beautiful place. Ive never seen any place like it. I visited with my wife and kids on a business trip. The pool was incredible, the views were epic, and the side lawns and conveniences were exceptional.

I adore this serene property and look forward to when all returns to normal so we can take our out of town guests here and celebrate many more milestones!

I came to the resort to have dinner and drinks with a friend and I cannot speak highly enough of the service we received. Every person, from the parking attendant to the wait staff to the bartender at the end of the night, was fantastic. The lounge bar makes a great margarita, the sushi at Bashi is amazing (I recommend the Crispy Rice Roll) and the cheesecake at Catalina Kitchen was delicious. Special shoutout to Jillian at Catalina Kitchen for being so nice and accommodating. Just all around a very attentive, kind staff. We will definitely be back!

This place was probably nice in 1985. Rooms are very dated in design and desperately need to be modernized. Paint peeling in restaurant bathrooms. Extremely loud mixture of rave and old 90s radio music blasting at 9am on the outdoor speakers on a weekday even though nobody is outside at the pools. Food is just OK. Staff is hit or miss - some are very polite, others seem irritated to assist. Screaming kids everywhere. Do not recommend at this price point.

I want to say how truly amazing my experience was while staying at the Terranea Resort. From the staff, the architecture of the buildings & landscape, interior design, to the location, this is an absolutely magnificent place where every detail was thought out and it definitely shows. Terranea is one of our favorite resorts! Gorgeous landscaping, exceptional service, and breathtaking views. Terranea is surrounded with beautiful landscaping that is clearly maintained with royalty standards. You won’t find a leaf out of place.From valet to groundskeeping the entire staff will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing less than perfect. They offer several different types of accommodations and every suite is super clean and beautifully decorated. We have been lucky enough to stay in almost every type of room. Our two favorites are the 1 bedroom casitas and the “Shearwater” suite.You definitely won’t go hungry while staying at Terranea. They have several different dining options right on the property. All of them welcome children and most are dog friendly.For breakfast I recommend either Catalina Kitchen or Sea Beans. The weekend brunch at CK is not something you want to miss!For fancy dining with a view, I highly recommend Mar Sel’s. The food is phenomenal, the service is on point and the view will not disappoint. Their sea salt biscuits are delicious!Nelson’s is great for happy hour or dinner and watching the sunset. They have a large outdoor patio with fire pits and picnic or table seating. During high season I recommend arriving about an hour before sunset to guarantee the best table. Terranea is a definite yes for us.

Stunningly beautiful architecture and decor throughout the property. The service was first class all the way! There is no better resort hotel in LA. It also makes for a great staycation for LA natives like me.

Exquisite property. Well trained staff who are quite cheerful. Attentive housekeepers too. Especially relaxing. The restaurant on the sea was wonderful.Overlooks Catalina Island with a wonderful wedding venue. pool was closed for winter so check.

The Terranea Resort is truly one of the nicest resorts I’ve ever been to. The scenery is unmatched. I highly recommend walking the perimeter trail and checking out the amazing ocean views. The food options are top notch and the service was excellent.

The Terranea Resort is as beautiful as it is luxurious. The resort and all the employees go beyond to make your stay as decadent as you could hope for. The scenic view is breathtaking. The food choices are wide range enough to appeal to all. It is a five star resort, so please expect five star prices. So worth the treat!

Stunning grounds, gorgeous views and even if youre not staying at this upscale place you can still come and walk the grounds, access the beach and the breathtaking views of cliffs and sunsets and sunrises. Restaurant is quite pricey so make sure to check menu before ordering - otherwise beautiful place to see and worth a stop if in LA. For golf lovers, also has a top class golf course...

Great local getaway. Had a great time there. Covid restrictions has some stuff limited but still a lot to do.

Beautiful resort with beautiful view. We went to have lunch in one of their restaurant (Bashi) which served good foods. Japanese foods served here is of fair quality but not excellent though. Other foods in the menu are Asian twisted foods. 5 stars for the ambience but foods will be 4 stars here.

Last visit week of 10/20/20The resort, service and amenities are impeccable. Pricy but worth it, especially if you can get a deal during the week. We have yet to try the spa, but pools and golf have been great both times. A fun 9 hole course that you walk, but can rent a pull cart. The walking paths and beaches are great, but only wish it was a sandy beach and not rocky. I live in So Cal so don’t visit for the sandy beaches, but I’m sure other visitors from further would appreciate it. The service is not as great as pre-Covid, since we have to do without the champagne welcome, bell, room and bell service but restaurants and other service were as great as I remember———From Jan 2020Great resort to relax and get away for a weekend. Service was impeccable from the time you arrive to the time you leave. Rooms were large and showers had double heads. Fun little par 3 golf course on site as well. Two pools and plenty of walking/hiking paths to the beach. The beach is rocky, so you do have to be careful but they warn you of that before you head out.

Absolutely gorgeous property! The customer service exceeded 5 stars. The room was very spacious. Shower could be a little bigger. More charge part to charge electronics. Food on property was on point. Large portions and variety of options. Pools and gym were well kept and just phenomenal!!! You can cycle and enjoy an amazing ocean view. Every area on the property was well kept. Relaxing and family friendly resort. Also great for romantic getaway!Transportation is very accessible. No elevators but the property is wheel chair accessible.Loved my stay!

Amazing views, the patio is fantastic. A truly wonderful place to have lunch. The food was fantastic, unfortunately quite expensive. Staff were amazing, and the restaurant appeared quite clean. A great experience overall, the staff were very considerate and caring when addressing my allergies as well.

This place is AMAZING!!! It has a private beach and you can rent kayaks.Its such a beautiful setting, with nicely decorated outside seating areas. It has a water slide that goes along the side of the building and into one of their several pools!!

This a great Resort to visit a few times a year. I enjoy walking around this beautiful palace. Nelsons is my restaurant of choice here because of the beautiful views of the ocean where you can see marine animals swim by from time to time. The food is tasty and well prepared. The service depends on your servers. Enjoy

Probably the single best resort Ive been to in the states. Luxury, but without the fools gold facade that most other resorts wear.The food was exquisite. The drinks, superb. The spas and activities were excellent.But most importantly, all of the staff and crew and activity leaders were down to earth. None of the facile treatment from other high class resorts.The people and its history truly make this resort one for the books.

Extremely beautiful all around. Picture does not do the place justice. Rooms are a bit dated and can be a bit musky without proper ventilation but once you open the patio door to the fresh ocean breeze all is good. Staff here is top notch. Extremely nice and efficient.

Such a beautiful place to visit! The hotel and its grounds are beautiful! It’s very well maintained, so many beautiful details. Gorgeous flowers in beautiful vases. Excellent food and drinks. All of the restaurants are great! I like that Terranea has golf carts to get to the restaurants that are a little more of a distance from the entrance.

First time visiting Terranea (during coronavirus). What a beautiful property with cliff-side views, native and water-wise landscaping and easy strolling paths. We at ate Marsel (recommend the filet minion) and Bashi (recommend the coconut walnut shrimp) - both very good. We appreciated the free yoga every morning which was amazing and the falconer wild bird intro was very interesting and enjoyable as well. We also did the 2-hour kayak activity and our guide James was very informative and patient - recommend. We did miss using the jacuzzi (closed during coronavirus) or having some kind of evening activity. Wasnt happy about the lame $40 per night parking. Overall we enjoyed our splurge stay very much!

Fantastic way to escape 2020.

The resort is amazing, like a little piece of heaven here on earth. It not only has amazing restaurants and service but there is also nothing like doing a yoga or spinning class in front of the ocean. We saw probably about 8 whales plus dolphins while we were there and had the most amazing view of the Ocean and Catalina Island from our balcony. Will definitely go back.

Where do I start in how amazing this place is. Rooms are very clean, property is extremely clean and the staff is beyond helpful! Made my familys stay amazing and once in a lifetime experience. The views are amazing too (unbelievable its still in LA County)! I recommend if you are on the fence, stay here! They accommodated my large family and truly went above and beyond by making it possible for us to stay in a villa which gave us all the space we needed.The only areas that could use a little improvement are the dirty pool water in the family pool. It had a funky smell too, I totally get that everyone was slathered in sun screen which probably created the film on the water but it was still disappointing for a 5star resort. We also had several maintenance calls during our stay but as I mentioned before the crew was amazing and promptly fixed any issues we had (it just sucked we had to call so many times). Lastly, late check out. They need to allow late check out. Especially since my husband was there for a conference which ended at noon yet check out is 11am. This left me either packing an entire Villa but myself while caring for my 4 kids or him not attending the end of his meetings (which is what happened) so he could help me.

Really enjoyed the time we spent here. The staff was very friendly and I loved the awesome sushi roll and garlic Japanese noodles! The house cab Sav was very good too! Walk down to the beach and experience a fantastic view with a cove overlooking the water. The rocks are really cool to look at up close.

Very beautiful place to visit. Awesome scenery. We took a hike down from the light house, then had a picnic with the kids. The boys loved playing there.

Simply magical! Its paradise, once you get here you wont want to leave. Location, friendly staff, warm sunny weather. Its the perfect package. I was lucky enough to be at the Terranea Resort for a business conference and I enjoyed every minute of it. Would love to come back if given the chance.

Very quiet and sensational place. It was a great stay in the resort. Loved the atmosphere, activities, and scenery. It worth a revisit in the future. The breakfast was amazing, they have a variation for selection. The room was perfectly sectioned with all the appliances that you need. Absolutely beautiful. Huge property, bring comfy shoes. The grounds are beautiful and you have many choices for rooms and budget. The restaurants and entertainment is great. Lots of walking trails, beautiful views and pools.Relax at the spa, take a hike or just chill at the pool. You will enjoy this beautiful resort in Palos Verdes. Make sure you eat at Nelsons. Make reservations. If you go in the summer they have a summer concert series. You honestly dont have to leave the property, you will have plenty to do.

I have been here many times before this trip, and while I understand with COVID times are different, this was not upscale by any means. From check-in - no valet, parking far from entrance yet still charging the high valet-parking rate - to the restaurants with limited menus and below par quality food, to staff that don’t seem to know the resort they work in - just an all around bad experience that a gorgeous view just can’t make up for at these prices.

We rolled up into this resort and we didn’t even stay at the resort just went in to come to the cove and slipped into the pool bar and got a drink and nobody said anything to us and we were able to sip some drinks and take a walk on beach and go the cove that’s about 800 ft away. The resort is really nice and I would stay here but for now I will attend for free. Thank you for the love

Considering I went during Covid, it was a nice time. The hiking trails are beautiful. The food selection was a bit limited and there were a few stains on the chairs in the room. The spa was also closed.. those are my only complaints (Oh! And parking is $40/day). The staff, however, was very friendly and the overall customer service was great! I will definitely return post-Covid!!

I love it. There is a piano. Many people comes and play. Well, the view was damn nice. Weather is nice too. Food are ok. Well, they serve food super slow. Weather was nice. I like the garden. I could spend whole time there. We can sight see the Pacific Ocean there.

We were in Terranea for a team event and it was amazing. The staff is really friendly throughout the resort and the stay was next to perfect.The property is huge. There are multiple things to do based on your preference. The spa and pools are really relaxing. There are multiple hiking trails and different experiences you could sign up for such as Oceanography, Coastal Biking, or Tai Chi.The food was good as well and the bars are fun. They have good cocktails on the menu. I got a room with the views of the ocean and its pretty common to sight marine life.Overall it was a really relaxing experience and would definitely recommend.

I love this resort so much! We stay in the villas when we go. Its really nice to have that privacy in the villas, also very peaceful and relaxing. Its really convenient to get down to the resort to use the pools, spa and enjoy the restaurants. The resort is beautiful! We really love the spa at Terranea. The pool at the spa is only for spa guests, so it was more relaxing than the other pools.The villa is very spacious with 3 bedrooms so we could have had our friends or family stay with us. It was also not a problem when we ordered food from the resort to our villa. It was surprisingly fast. We also didnt have a long drive to Beverly Hills when we decided to roam that way for dinner.

Amazing manager in the lobby bar. He was a 5 star rating! What a marvelous time every time we go.

Such a peaceful place!! Has everything you need! The room is so comfy and quiet. Such Amazing Views. Just a side note, if you are going somewhere and need to be on time, get your car ordered ahead. The valet service is slow especially during peak times. But so peaceful!!

Update 4.10.19. I went back last Saturday and had a very different experience and I updated my review to 4 Stars. Thank you Terranea Resort staff for your response.Ive heard many good things about this venue and my wife & friends often visit. I was invited by a friend and business partner for drinks and appetizers. Great location, and that is worth 2 stars at least, but the service level disappointed. For a Saturday night, it was not that busy, and there were plenty of staff, but still very slow and at times inattentive service. I will likely go back, but with some reservation.

This is one of the most beautiful places to visit and most of the relaxing welcoming resorts I’ve ever visited. Our room was so beautiful and clean. We had a sea view with pool view and I just wasn’t able to stop looking outside my window. Their customer service is amazing.

Terranea is a hidden gem of a resort. In addition to being beautiful and centrally-located, the quality and comfort of the rooms/casitas/bungalows make it hard to leave.Range of restaurants and choices of pools and a beautiful Spa means there’s something for everyone. (I have been there for both a romantic weekend away as well as a family trip with our 12-year-old)Finally, what makes Terranea truly special is the staff. People went above and beyond to make our trips exceptional. The personal touches make all the difference and will have us return again and again.

The place is super nice. I was just visiting a friend so I just hiked around the area and the environment just feels really relaxing. It was a quick walk to the cove and is really cool. Theres also kayaking down there for $135. We got food at Bachi and it was amazing. Parking was difficult because its super expensive and the free areas fill up. I parked in the neighborhood over and walked over. The walk was like

Great resort for casual relaxing or more high end events. There is lots of hiking, cocktails, pools, socializing and more. Get out here at least once. There is also free parking if you are willing to walk just a little bit.

Great romantic spot but kind of pricey if you plan on staying the night

Terranea is best place to visit. Ocean front, cheap and nice food(espacially Nelsons), kind server. You can see the amazing view in your room! Even though the weather is bad, you can satisfying.

I stopped in here for some dinner with the family. Its a little bit difficult getting to the resort but if youre there its a nice place. On a clear day you can see great ocean views all the way to Catalina Island. The service at the restaurants is nice and attentive, the cost is commensurate.
