Beautiful view !Very peaceful...You have to see for yourself. Its a park with some picnic tables. You can bring a blanket to lay out so you can watch the panoramic view of the ocean. You can bring your dog to walk. Theres bathrooms. You can picnic and throw the trash in the can, theres enough trash cans for that. Bring your mask !You can take a long walk along the trail thats parallel to the ocean. Just see for yourself !!The lighthouse is beautiful too.
Its a beautiful spot along the California coast. A great place for a scenic walk along the nearby trails.
Beautiful and fabulous ocean view trails. Excellent place to hang out with friends and family. Dont forget to schedule a whale watching trip when whales migrate to our beautiful California coast line. Picnics a must for all events, family functions, and business associates networking. Embrace the great outdoors and feel the peace in divine.
Closed trails that are being worked on were a disappointment and the center and volunteers are not there due to covid. Im sure it will improve, but it was kind of a bummer for our normal trail walk. They were well prepared with bathrooms and hands washing facilities however which was a pleasant surprise.
Beautiful Park along the coast if you ever want to see the sunset the perfect place to go take your girl sit down have a nice little picnic nicest clean I would recommend you go at least once very nice
This place has long, peaceful trails that run along the coastal cliffs, allowing for a great walk with lovely scenery. The center is closed for cocid-19, but all the outdoor space is open. There are several grassy areas and picnic tables available with some shade to enjoy a picnic while overlooking the ocean. Take a short drive down here to get away from the bustle of the city.
We arrived at their location too late in the afternoon to visit the centers interior exhibits. We did enjoy the vista from their patio areas. Little trails and walkways also highlighted their landscaped sections. The whole effect is visually lovely. The location is outstanding, with fantastic views out over the blue Pacific. Volunteers keep watch for migrating whales. We didnt get to see any while we were there for a short while, but a whiteboard showed how many sightings that day.Their website indicates that the venue can be rented for private events. Must be a fabulous place on a warm afternoon / evening for a magical party by the sea. It doesnt hurt to have great views of the Point Vicente Lighthouse as part of the overall scene. We will have to plan a trip to spend part of a day here to check out the center during visiting hours. Lots of free parking, with abundant parkland also adjacent.
One of my favorite places to go to! I always bring out of town guests here as well. The museum is small but has a thorough local history. Cant beat the views! No access to the beach but you can whale watch, have a picnic, or just take a relaxing stroll on the paved paths.Accessible to all ages including strollers and wheelchairs. I walk the dog out here nearly every week and I still cant get enough of the views!!
Place is awesome, great hike for beginners as myself! would upgrade to 5 stars when everything is open!
This beatifyl park, located adjacent to the lighthouse. It has beautiful views. Picnic tables are available however, fires, barbecues, drones and smoking are prohibited at this site. Also facility rental is available for n outdoor wedding, reception or other special events. I believe, this is the one of the best ocean view in LA you have to visit.
Easy outdoor access., take a mask and wear walking shoes. Also your own chairs
Great place for a family picnic or to watch the set lots of view points all the drive
Great place to walk even though closed and no one watching for WHALES
I had a wedding event as a DJ here. Very nice venue with beautiful views of the Palos Verdes cliffs and Pacific Ocean. The ballroom is kind of small, but it’s nice. There is a good amount of power outlets all the way around and we’ll as outside. Dinner was set up inside while dancing was outside in the patio area. There were two large glass doors that open up which makes it an indoor/outdoor ballroom.
Its just a great place to take a stroll, picnic, and relax; all with the view of the Pacific ocean.
It is one of the finest place in San Pedro. It has an excellent view. The parking is free. Beautiful destination to visit. Has a view of the ocean. It can be a calm and peaceful place apart from public holidays. Even it has a hiking nearby. You can go down to the shore. Even you can enjoy the view from a mountain which is located nearby. It has a lighthouse view. Overall I would surely recommend this place to visit.
Great spot to walk along the paths, large grass area for a picnic, nature center, and parking is free (so it can get crowded)... might want to share a car if youre planning to meet up with others.just so you know, you cant actually go in or near the lighthouse, but plenty to see around it. if youre up for it you can walk along the trail to the Terranea Resort if you want, and Trump golf course is just a little further ways down.if you have a dog, bring lots of water, trails get pretty warm/hot and very little shade once you leave the grassy areas.
Located on the cliffs of Palos Verdes. This place gives you amazing panoramic views, with a museum & gift shop, too.
My nephew proposed to his girlfriend last Sunday. It was beautiful!!!
A beautiful place I love to visit!!
Great for talking a walk. Peaceful, beautiful scenery. View of the ocean. Lighthouse temporarily closed.
A great place to look out to the ocean. Since its on a peninsulas cliff, you get a further and wider horizon view.
Delightful views of the Pacific along the coastline from PV and an excellent place to relax at the park during a hot summer day. Where the rest of the inland cities experience 90 degree weather, the park / outlook was a cool 72 degrees (bring a jacket, the wind chill factor brings it down). You cannot go to the actual light house and if youre in the area, stop by the parks and enjoy the views. Since the Center was closed due to a wedding, we couldnt go in and thus this review is only for the scenery and overall experience.
Its a beautiful park on the southwest corner of mainland LA county but lighthouse closed currently Sep. 2020.
This is a wonderful park with a small museum. On most days we see several whales going by. There are about a dozen picnic tables and free parking is just a few feet away. Great place to spend a weekend day or see an amazing sunset with Catalina on the left and the channel islands on the right.
Picturesque location.. Good for walking / jogging.. Free parking
The wind and view are beautiful they had parking and a walk trail
FROM THE WEATHER TO THE PLACE EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT.
Great area, nice view, but part of the walking trail is close now.
Nice view clean maintained if your lucky you can see whales
Great views and a nice walking path on the bluff. When open, theres a little musium and cafe.
I love coming here for the native garden and the views. Some of the plants in the garden weren’t labeled but I’m a nerd so I think most people don’t care. You can also use iNaturalist for id.It would be awesome if they expanded the garden, since the coastal sage scrub plant community is already so threatened. Maybe encourage the local homeowners to help out the local ecology by growing native plants? Pretty sure they can afford to. Especially since LA’s water is stolen from the Owen’s River valley. Enough with the lawns, sheeple! Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
Beautiful scenery. Calming waves and sunny beachside. The perfect walk or job any day ️
I come you here for the view, cute gift shop, and museum. Nice trail 1 mile.
This was breathtaking scenery, especially during this terrible time. There were a couple of different trails that you can hike.
A great hiking trail along the cliffs.
Cool little park with a huge view of the cliffs ocean and the lighthouse. They also have a little museum. Take your camera.
This is where you will find peace of mind.
Great place to see whales if you cant get out on the water. Gorgeous scenery. Fun little museum. Be sure to check inside for FREE binocular rentals.
Beautiful spot to breathe in nature & spot whales and dolphins if you are lucky. The interpreter center is a wonderful museum with competant docents who guide you on a VERY informative tour of sea life, mammalian life and area sights and facts.
This is a nice laid back place to visit if youre into long strolls or easy hikes. If youre staying at the nearby Terranea Hotel its a perfect way to walk off that big meal. A small and wholesome information center is on the property where you can see the bygone days of the peninsula and buy a few commemorative pins or magnets
Excellent place to take kids. Amazing views
An amazing spot to soak in the gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean! There is a lot of seating around the park, clean restrooms, and plenty of parking. What more could you ask for? Unfortunately the actual museum was closed when we went for the holiday, but I’m sure it’s informative and exciting as well. Loved visiting this place!!
Very beautiful ocean, flowers, birds & many very nice people & their variety of dogs...SERENITY!
Beautiful place, scenic point, really love this park, pacific view is amazing.
This small history museum is amazing and you get a free (optional tip) tour as well. Friendly staff.
Spectacular Views, Walking path along the bluffs. The Interpretive Center building is still closed due to Covid-19. Outside restrooms are open. No monitoring of the wake migration this year.
The spacious park provides sweeping ocean views and mans a good museum. For those interested in whales, they have a lot of useful information. You can see the lighthouse, but it is in use and not for the public.
Stop and get your lighthouse passport stamped! Small interpretive enter with the most friendly staff. You cannot get to this lighthouse or tour.
The views are fantastic. The folks in the center were very helpful & knowledgeable. They have high quality binoculars you can check out for free - just give them your set of keys or a drivers license.
Beautiful area. Like visiting here when I come to California.
A hidden gem, I never aware of in Palos Verdes Peninsula. Best place to go for a picnic and to have a best feel of Pacific Sea. Also the light house is the biggest attraction there. a good number of eating places near by. Either go there or buy your stuff and hang out at this place. Plenty of free parking, paved and unpaved. enjoy the sunset and the breeze at this place. #kidsfriendly #letsguide #wheelchairaccessible #seaside
Beautiful day. Always a lovely place to visit. Folks were following social distancing guidelines and with few exceptions, facemasks were worn. Parking was available. Restrooms open with 6 or more standing in line at proper distancing for current event.
Beautiful place to visit with family, friends, or solo! Hiking trails and musuem attraction. Bathrooms are clean!
Breathtaking views of the PV cliffs. Also you can see some whales passing by during migration seasons. Havent been any other place like it in the world...
Fantastic plave to hike..really easy..pet friendly..whale watching and no fees!!!!
The inside was closed. Portable restrooms outside. Limited parking
I hope and pray people visiting this Center continue to be the decent, clean, respectful people that thus far come. It is a small but nice informative place, with lots of good.information about the natural surroundings and its history. Come prepared for a windy time, especially in the winter, spring and fall. Please this is not a picnic place, do not bring plastic bags or bottles nor any form.of trash, and if you do, take it with you when you leave. Thanks
Provides a great overview of the whaling history of Portuguese Bend and Palos Verdes. They also provide history on the natives, the near by light house, a gift shop, hiking trails, and even rentable binoculars (if you give your ID or car keys). Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, and is a great place to visit if you are in the area.
The walking path starts at the lighthouse and goes a ways north. There is no beach access from here, just beautiful views. Several picnic tables, benches and grass. Plenty of parking available as well. There was a wedding at sunset in the amphitheatre. A beautiful place to get married.
Had a lovely Sunday stroll with a friend visiting me! Gorgeous views! This would be a lovely picnic spot and they do have tables and green space for it.
I just poked my head in the door and will return soon for a deeper experience. Its set in one of the most beautiful places in Los Angeles County.
Is interesting, the native American tribes that lived in the area before Europeans came to California. They have old artefacts that the whale hunters used.
Peaceful magigal sunset nice trail Paradise
One of my favorite and prettiest places to visit for a sunset ️ great walking/running trail and meditative spot!
Great place for walks and to enjoy the sunset. Accessible parking
Nice, simple informative, historical interesting. Very helpful nice staff. Beautiful location & views of ocean, St Vincente Lighthouse & Catalina Island. Benches and picnic tables. Lists of areas to sit & just enjoy the view, weather, people watching
Beautiful, beautiful sunset spot! Nice for a beautiful walk and picnic️
Always beautiful and calming.
Amazing hike, so beautiful and serene. If the weather permits you can see Catalina Island and parts of Malibu. Also coming in the right time you can see migrating whales and other marine mammals.
Always a great view! Rain, cloudy or sunshine!
Awesome view, clean air, beautiful sunsets!
If you haven’t came here to watch the sun set you are missing out! What a peaceful place to watch the sea and great views everywhere! People around are very friendly. It’s a nice getaway.
Beautiful place for pictures. Always parking and its free. You can bring your dog. Great place for picnic. They will let you borrow binoculars to see the whales! Excellent place for families or even couples want to get out see beautiful views. Great place to go if u are visiting from out if town.
So serene and calming family oriented place
It was a ton of fun! We were able to watch some whales and all the people working there were super friendly. I hadn’t ever seen a whale before going here.
Beautiful Sunset !
Mainly for lovers. Not really kid friendly. Beautiful view though.
A bit bussy during sundiwn but amazingly beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous! Clean site, well kept trails, beautiful sunset, educational for children.
Nice tour friendly people every where
Beautiful views, natural surroundings, and pelicans! The lighthouse wasnt open but its still worth going. Was that a rhyme? Anyways, all should go. Young or old will love it
Urban escape go and get away from it all!
Great spot to walk around and enjoy the nice weather.
Nice place to visit. Unfortunately the lighthouse tour is only on the second Saturday of the month.
Wonderful visit. Very informative, take your time and appreciate the exhibits. Also, take some time for a hike along the ocean. Very beautiful.
A public park with great views. There is free parking and it isnt overly crowded. Great views of the water. A very nice place to visit.
Great views nice little drive
Went on a docent led tour and even though we walk here all the time we learned new things and observed things we passed by before. The lighthouse was also open and got to see it from a different angle.
Beautiful view! Cute museum.
Amazing views of the Pacific at sunset. One of the most romantic spots around.
We absolutely love this park. Very beautiful, and you can watch the whales swim by :) we had our rehearsal dinner there, but wish we had more pics of the grounds themselves to show you
Besutiful views, awesome sunsets
I love this place. They have a very cool free museum and lovely gardens. Look for the El Segundo Blue butterflies. If youre a tourist or just looking for cool coastal gifts check out their gift shop. They have a nice banquet room available for events also. I recommend you stop by.
I love to come here for a nice walk and view the sunset. So peaceful.
Nice small museum. Free. Great exhibit explaining the local geology that formed Point Vicente and the highlands of Rancho Palas Verdes.
Magnificent beauty! Coastal whale watching!
