If youre a bride looking to get married at Los Verdes we 100% say go for it. As wedding photographers who have worked here we can honestly say the whole day is an absolute dream from start to finish. Not only does the venue have beautiful, well manicured grounds, but its incredibly functional and convenient for everyone involved with your wedding.Some of our favorite features of this venue are their unique ceremony site and newly renovated reception space. The club closes off the nearest fairway to allow couples to get married directly on the grass with a spectacular view of the sunset off the coast. On top of that, their newly renovated reception space is clean, bright and functional. Everything at this venue runs like clockwork!The staff, location, and grounds make this one of our favorite venues to photograph at and we cant wait to shoot here again!

Your booking system needs to be improved as people are using bots to book. You can see that every tee time before 3pm is gone in less than 5 seconds as soon as you open up the bookings (5am)

Dubbed “poor man’s pebble” by one of our playing partners, this course really is incredible. Low pressure, muni course that really offers some of the most beautiful views I’ve seen.Ended up playing here kind of last minute while spending a weekend in LA. Was very pleased with the course, greens were true and quick, views were incredible (especially on the back 9), and of course, weather was perfect.I’ve seen some complaints about pace; they’re valid. We went off at 15:00 in a group of 5 and were held up approaching on most of the front 9 holes. It sped up on the back through 14, then slowed again and we only played through 16 due to darkness.

This has got to be one of the Worst Experience I have ever had at any Golf Course... The entire staff is miserable, you can tell no one wants to be there, worst customer service from beginning to end. Took clients and the way they were treated was uncalled for, no respect!!. I also expected more from the course. Being a Landscape Architect/Contractor I was expecting a much nicer course being that its next to the coast with the absolute best possible weather. Wont be Golfing here any time soon.

RUN AWAY! DO NOT come here to even think about having a wedding here. Emily was late to our meeting and on TOP of that she wouldnt even take us out to see the venue we wanted to book and had the audacity to show us the outdated bridal and groomSuite. They had the cheapest furniture you could think of. Suite? More like dungeon. It was dirty inside the bridal suite and the womens restroom smelled like a pipe busted in there and smelled horrible! I had to hold my breath to keep from throwing up everywhere. Imagine your guests using that restroom during the reception? The embarrassment and the shame! The place is disgusting and so filthy nasty. Nothing about this place is luxury. It looks better on camera. Its bootleg. Save your money and have it at an actual resort on the water. You wont regret it. This place is money hungry. You can do better!

Yes, the views are great for $50... but the fairways and rough are not in great shape, and there is dirt everywhere.We stopped after 9 holes because it took us 2 hours and 50 minutes, and the locals we were playing with said this was faster than usual. We teed off at 11am, actually, our tee time was 11am but we teed off at 11:20.Restaurant/bar looked nice, but they also didnt have the beverage cart out on the course....when it was packed with people waiting on every shot.

Great views, tough course but beatiful views. Lots of dog legs and elevation changes, greens run toward the ocean. Nice place to play.

Los Verdes was a beautiful place to have our wedding. The venue coordinated everything very well. Our ceremony was picturesque with an ocean view and the photos that not only we took during sunset, but also that our guests took during the sunset cocktail hour were absolutely breathtaking. We received nothing but compliments from our guests about how beautiful of a location this venue was.

Played here in late December and as some of the other reviews said it was extremely slow. They allow groups of 5 and dont leave any space between tee times. The rate is very reasonable and the course is one you can walk if youd like. The greens are tough and the rest of the course is in very marginal shape and a little beat up. But the views are great!!!! Id recommend playing it once just for the views and then decide if you want to come back and put up with the slow play and marginal course conditions.

Absolutely beautiful golf course. For the price, it cannot be beat. Amazing views and the course was in good condition. The round was a little slow but it was to be expected on a holiday.

I will give the view and the staffs for 5 stars. The greens at the course is very patchy. Some of the fairway has half of it soil exposed. Also there is only 8 minutes between each group. I felt really rushed when I was playing.

Grew up playing Los Verdes, moved away, got to play again Nov. 2019. Course was in great condition, fast greens, fairways more green than I expected. Good range. Grass fronting/surrounding greens is sticky, ball stops when it hits that grass, club gets grabbed also. Crowded, but had fun.

I went there for an evening wedding and reception. View of the Pacific was awesome. Even the surrounding golfers (no kidding), didnt distract from the beautiful outdoor splendor. The sun setting over the wedding party added quite a romantic touch to a beautiful venue.

Simple course with tough greens. Nothing compares to the beautiful views though. Highly recommend when price is factored in

One of the most scenic courses will ever find...and the only one you will find at that price....greens are fast and well maintained...course is in good condition even though its one of the busiest public courses around.

I would normally rate this public course a 5 but for one thing. It plays so super agonizingly slow. Plan on a round taking up to 6 hours, especially on the weekend. Club house is fair. Locker rooms are old. BUT the course is one of the most beautiful courses in California. In fact its said that Jack Nicklaus favorite public hole is #15 here.

Beautiful views from this public course. It was foggy the morning we played, but still had good views. The course was straightforward and enjoyable.

I would recommend this course, mainly because of the views and the course experience. Out of the public courses that I’ve played in LA and Orange Counties, this course has some of the best views of the ocean and mountains! As of April ‘19, the course is in great shape and the staff is friendly. Most, if not all of the fairways are sloped. The greens are pretty much all tough— hard to get a birdie on any of the par 3’s.. It makes for a challenging but fun round for all skill levels. The reason i rated this course 4 stars and not 5 stars: I believe the staff should group walkers with walkers and cart riders with other riders. Our round started around 2:45, and we could only finish 16 holes before we couldn’t see. Sunset was at 8:30 and we played a little past that time. Pace is excruciatingly slow, so don’t book a tee time after 2:00pm.

Pace of play can be VERY slow which would usually not be a big deal except that they send out groups of 5. They are directly causing the slow play by doing that.Regardless, the course is in great condition. Well maintained and priced well.

The pace of play was good. The greens are in great shape and true could be a little faster.The elephant grass is coming back. They need to do something about that sooner rather than later.

I ate lunch at the nicely updated cafe. The food was as expected for a golf venue, decent fare but nothing outstanding after one meal.The golf shop looked remodeled too but I didnt take a close look.

I was congratulated for being#1 Top Producing Realtor for 2018 and 2019 out of 400 agents. Our broker just hit 400 agents this week so we celbrated with cake.West Shores Realty is taking over the hill. Beautiful golf course. You can start to play before sunrise and rental golf club set just $55 (with 6 golf ball and reservation is not required). Playing golf with nice ocean view is very comfortable. You can feel “Sea Breath”. Furthermore, There are private event such as wedding in this place.

A great venue for events. The view from the patio,during cocktail hour, over the ocean is spectacular. The food was good and service was fast for a large group. There is a dance floor and adjoining rooms when extra space is needed. This is a great space for weddings, galas and large gatherings.

I attended a wedding here and it was a worthwhile experience: from the well manicured greens to the phenomenal decor and the notably good service. I however, had higher expectations as far as the food was concerned. It was ok, but not 5 star worthy. I will definitely be back for a round of golf, though.

We had a pretty awful experience holding our wedding at Los Verdes. The wedding was beautiful luckily, but the planning process was, for the most part, unpleasant.When we initially booked, the coordinator we worked with was wonderful. She was thorough, helpful, and made the first couple months of our engagement and wedding planning process great. Unfortunately, she let us know she would be moving on to a new opportunity and we would be moved to a new coordinator.We were assured by one of the managers at the venue that the new coordinator would be seasoned and knowledgable about Los Verdes. This couldnt have been farther from the truth. We were given a brand new coordinator who knew very little about the venue - when I would provide her information or details she needed, it didnt seem she ever took note of them. I was very thorough in updating the venue, and she asked me the same questions over and over again. Eventually, she stopped responding to my emails, and all of a sudden other members of Los Verdes staff would respond.Finally a couple months later after receiving responses from other people consistently, I asked if this person was still our coordinator. This manager, who was very rude throughout the whole planning process, then informed us that coordinator was no longer with the venue. She did not even provide the info of our new coordinator - I had to explicitly ask.When we finally met our third coordinator, it was at our venue walk through about 6 weeks before the wedding. She did not bring the venue details paperwork I had filled out and continually updated with them, so I had to check details myself on my phone when we had questions. Our third coordinator was actually very nice, and we definitely do not blame her for all the annoying things we had to deal with from the venue - she also, however, was new and not very knowledgable about the facility.We ended up hiring a friend of mine who works for a fantastic planning company, Samantha Hall Events, as our planner for about a month before the wedding and to have a day-of person to help out. I dont know what we would have done if we hadnt because although the venue says they provide a day-of person, we barely saw our venue coordinator during the rehearsal or the wedding. We understand if the venue feels a day-of person hired specifically takes precedence, but we still wish she would have at least checked in with us.Mostly, the venue looked beautiful on the day of and was everything we could have hoped for - mostly due to the weather being perfect and the golf course having a beautiful ocean/sunset view.However, we asked that trash around the venue be picked up before the wedding (my mom asked several times), and it wasnt really - there were overflowing trash cans, etc. Not very pleasant. The bathrooms also smelled very poorly and looked like they hadnt been cleaned at all. For a wedding venue, these items seem ridiculous. You would expect it to be a given that trash and bathrooms would be cleaned before an event as important and expensive as a wedding but at Los Verdes, this was not the case.We also paid extra to have bistro lights outside during cocktail hour, and they werent up when cocktail hour started. My mom reached out to the venue with details to request a refund, and we never heard anything back from them. We also bought our own pop-up tents for our caterer to use, and theyre nowhere to be found. Again, we asked the venue about it, and they werent helpful in locating them.Luckily, our pictures came out beautifully and the venue worked out on the day of, but I would not recommend Los Verdes to brides just starting to plan their wedding. Weddings are very expensive, and we felt like the quality of service we got at the venue absolutely did not align with the money we paid for it.

Great deal for juniors and in general is a good deal. Greens are usually in good condition along with the rest of the course. There is a driving range along with a chipping practice green. Great place to improve your game. There are no water hazards. Staff at the pro shop are really nice and helpful. Unfortunately it is a very crowded course which makes golfing here painfully slow.Happy golfing!

I just had my wedding at Los Verdes and I recommend it highly as a wedding venue.I am vegan and I was able to bring in my own catering from Whole Foods. We were able to hand select all of our beer and wine which made the wedding FAR more affordable and personalized.Jackie helped us set up everything leading to the wedding. And the day-of coordinator was OUT OF THIS WORLD. I dont know how much they are paying him but it is not enough. He was so warm, friendly, bubbly, organized, on-top-of it. Any time I or my husband (groom) need something to happen at the wedding or had a question for Greg he was RIGHT there with an answer and a huge smile. He sent me down the aisle with a warm smile, a coaching sentence, and lots of butterflies. We are so, so impressed with how well the Los Verdes team (specifically Greg, are you guys getting this? make sure to ask for Greg) took care of our most special day.

Los Verdes Golf course is a public golf course on Palos Verdes Hill. The rates are the same for any of the other municipal courses, but, it is the best one. The greens are kept nicely, nice rough and fairway, and good hole layout. The people who work there are friendly, and very keen to help. The course is very well treated by the workers there, and is a great value. The views there are excellent, and are very nice while playing golf. The shop there is stocked with good stuff, and the service is great. The rates are exactly the same as the other municipal courses in the city, but it is better than some of the other courses, such as Alondra. The reason this gets 4 and not 5 stars is because the fairways could be kept a little better, as a lot of the time there are patches of dirt in the fairway, and mysterious plants. Another thing people might find annoying is that the place is very crowded, can be up to 6+ hours. But overall, a very nice course.

Los Verdes is a very challenging and has great views. The downside is the fact they do 5 somes, and rounds can take 5.5 to 6+ hours.

If I was giving a rating for the outside view and upkeep of greenery, I would give it a rating of 5. I was not there for golf, but for a wedding. The day prior, I was at the wedding rehearsal and used the womens restroom which was a MESS and smelled really bad. One of the stalls had yuck On the toilet so I went to another stall that was good to use. On the day of the wedding, which was the next day, I was officiating the wedding so I got there early and needed to use the same restroom. To my surprise, again, the restroom still smelled bad and was a mess. I entered same stall as the day before and the yuck was still on toilet, which meant, they never cleaned it from day before. The Bridal.Suite was next to the restroom and the odor from the restroom was present in the suite. Also, the suite was dirty. They really need to renew it. The hallway where the restrooms and suite is located had old furniture and the place didnt smell pleasant at all. Finally, when dinner was served at the reception, and I checked to see if food was catered from an outside source, but was told dinner was in fact provided by the venue. The food? Not good at all. I mean, I ate some of it cause I was hungry. We had chicken and A piece of steak. Couldnt really tell with the taste. Rolls were stale. Literally! And it was ALL cold. Didnt finish any of it. Thank God a Taco Man was there! All in all, I would recommend the outside, and maybe the banquet hall cause it is a nice sized hall with a great patio area. But I would recommend getting your own caterer and TRIPLE CHECK their promise to clean the restrooms!

Beautiful views of Catalina island and the blue Pacific made playing there a real treat. This is a tough course for short hitters like me, but when the new clubhouse is remodeled. it is going to be an awesome public venue for future tournaments

IT TOOK 6 HOURS ON A Wednesday!!!!!Stay away, Stay away from this place!!! It took over 6 hours on a Sunday. Had to wait after every single shot. This course lets out Way too many golfers, its just ridiculous.

Vero reasonable prices and ocean view. Its state owned so with$30 you can do 18 hole game.

You wont be disappointed by this golf course. Extremely scenic and great value for the price.

For the price and the location it is five star course.. but dont expect 4 hr or 4 1/2 hour round... 5 some are most and many are trying to get exercise by pushing cart.. slow play but for what is worth the course is good condition in middle of July in CA (many are not)

It was my first time golfing.i had a wonderful experience. Its a beautiful place. I still suck at the game, but Im going to keep trying. I hope to return soon.

My family used their hall for a wedding reception. Gorgeous views of the ocean and greens, excellent food (steak and lobster tails), friendly and timely staff. Jackie really took care of the brides wishes and kept the entire night running smoothly and on time! Jackie and her team were really amazing and filled in as wedding planners before and during the wedding, coordinating all of the vendors and putting together a timeline. Highly recommend!

Best public course I have been to yet in the South Bay.The view are gorgeous and the greens are in great condition. Overall the course was in great condition as well.Prices are very reasonable for such a nice public course.The one downside to this course is that they push 5-man groups. Prepare to have a 5 hour round here if not longer as a result.

Great scenery for a great price during twilight. Unfortunately we couldnt finish 18 holes in 6 hours. Apparently this is the normal speed of play at this course.

Ive been a member here for 6 years and this is my last. Im only giving it 2 stars.First, let me give you what I like about the course.It has some of the most scenic views for a golf course. My favorite is number 15. Nice layout. Greens can be tricky. And it is a public course which means you dont have to pay an arm and a leg to play here.That being said. Here are the cons.Slow play. Slow play. Slow play. If youve got more than 6 hours to burn, then hey this course is for you. I came out once with my dad (been a member since 1970) on Sunday. We only got 9 holes in. We teed off at 1:30pm and we left after 9 holes because it was 7pm. Members dont get any benefits as to starting times. Since this is a public course, this again is the cause to the long play times. Its all about money. They get out groups every 6 to 7 minutes, which causes a jam starting at number 3 and never gets any better. Waiting 10 to 15 minutes per hole to tee off and then 10 to 15 to hit your next shot is no fun. Golf diners used to be a bargain for getting food and snacks. Not anymore. Well enough of my ranting...If you do decide to play here. Try to get out early, it may not be so bad. Have fun...

It used to be private course as I heard but the owner wanted everyone to enjoy the view at some of holes (where it has oceanic views) and donated to the city. Its crowded most of time but very reasonable price and its course management is excellent

Amazing location. I was able to see a spectacular sun set. Unfortunately I wasnt here to play golf.

Played with 3 senior ladies who were all dead straight hitters. Finished the round in well under 5 hours. Absolutely awesome weather and the scenery was immaculate. Picked the perfect day without many tourists.

Probably wasting my time reviewing this course for a couple of reasons: 1. The view is hard to beat.. especially from the 15th green. 2. Its public, and I think the most popular course in the country.Anyhow.. Just finished a round with my brothers-in-law... Fun, except a couple things worth noting; Course has some of the worst rough I can imagine. Too much hard packed dirt to try to hit off if you miss the fairway. Id rather hit off crab grass and get a better result.Cute, Asian chick working the bar needs to learn some customer service skills. Absolutely no personality, in fact... borderline rude. Does not acknowledge customer with a Can I help you? or a Thank you for a tip. Puts your order on the counter and walks off without saying anything, so you are not sure if your order is ready to pick up or what?... Totally unacceptable. Find someone new!!!My group took advantage of the $12 deal which included a hot dog, chips, and bottled water and additional items from several options where the customer picks 2 choices. When we went to the bar to order the hot dogs, we turned in our receipts and received our hot dogs. I didnt realize until I got home that we were all supposed to have a bottle of water and a bag of chips included with that purchase. I dont understand why the person behind the bar couldnt inform us of this at the time we ordered.I like the course. But the service leaves A LOT to be desired. This place needs some serious help with their lever of customer service.

It was a terrible. It took 3 hours to play 9 holes. My grout couldn’t finish 18 holes. There are many groups behind our group.
