Convenient local theater but could definitely use some updating. Bonus is = they serve beer! Wish they had a gluten free option like Truly Hard Lemonade or a hard Cider - both would be refreshing for the summer time *hint hint* ;-) Hoping they can reopen soon. Delicious popcorn.
This is an older style movie theater and I love coming here! The entrance to each theater is at the back and you walk down a declining aisle to your seat(s) of choice. The seats dont recline but I honestly prefer that. Ive never had a bad experience here. A man I believe to be the owner is very sweet, and Ive had only positive experiences with other employees. The concession stand is exactly what you want from a movie theater, and the popcorn is delicious. Honestly love supporting this theater!
A hidden gem and by far my favorite theater in Raleigh. Its very clean, well staffed and theres abundant parking. Very affordable tickets and concessions. The BEST popcorn, and adult beverages are available, too. The seats are comfortable with leg room and dont feel crowded. (Its old school seats, not recliner or stadium.) I highly recommend Six Forks Cinema.
The Cinema is very old fashion, but thats it’s greatest quality. I’ve been living in Raleigh my whole life and didn’t even know of this movie theater. We decided to go and we had a fun time. The chairs are basic pull down seats and although the screen isn’t huge it is great to watch from the middle section. Also aside from it’s physical aspects, the sound/speakers was amazing, as it captured the whole movie.
One of the last independent theaters in Raleigh or the Triangle after the beloved Mission Valley closed. They have reasonably priced concessions, including adult beverages, and general admission seats so you can decide to attend a film at the last minute and still get a seat. (One annoyance is if you want an adult beverage you have to stand in one line, pay, and then go to another counter to get the beverage.)The theater is older but do yourself and local theater a favor and go see a movie there.
Older style theater. Sound only came from the screen. Small room, every seat was good. We liked it better that some of the fancier theatres. Were short and the seats were a good fit.
Six Forks Cinema is one of the older Raleigh movie theaters, but it is also one of the lower prices options. It is always clean, and gives good service. It has good popcorn and I like the candy selection. Try the nachos. In the ten to fifteen years I have been a regular customer, I have never had an issue.
Clean, well maintained, old-style movie theater (as in lots of regular seats in each theater-no oversized recliners). The staff is friendly and the popcorn delicious. We love the Icee frozen drinks they offer, too!
Great smaller theater with very nice staff. Process are always the best around and its always clean. Much better than Atlabtuc Springs which is old and unkempt and staff is bored. But not a new, modern theater experience. Old school for sure.
This is my favorite little theater. It is older but the seats are very comfortable. The lobby is small but well-equipped and the serving people are very attentive to you rather than, with so many other theaters, attentive to each other. The theater is arranged in a circle with the lobby entering into each of the theaters I think there are four or five of them. What I like best is the sound is never too high or too low and, because I am handicapped, I am thrilled to tell you that the seats are not really close together from front to back and there are no stairs. This theater is arranged, like a lot of the older theaters were, on a slant so the person in front of you is not in the way and you dont have to try and navigate stairs. I am retired. I can go to the movies anytime I want. So I get matinee price. However, on Tuesday they have $5 movies all day and into the night plus you get a small popcorn and a small soda. They have all of the latest movies and sometimes they are the only place that has a certain movie that I want to see. So I guess they are competing with the big time 10 15 20 screen theaters. But I like this one because its cozy, reasonably priced, and easily navigated.
This is an old school theater, no reclining seats. The young ppl that work there are so fantastic, they wear the olt time tuxedo style uniforms, very polite. Popcorn is $6 for a large tub, tickets are $9 i really loved it
Our family loves this theater! We enjoy the intimate feel of the smaller theaters and it is very comfortable. The service is friendly and efficient. Lots of choices at the concessions counter and the popcorn is fabulous! Wine, too, if you prefer!
Nice clean theater complex. Clean, good movie selection and snack stand. Cheaper than theater with lounge chairs.
Weird little old theater but can always get tickets. Older crowd. Usually meet my mom here. Good customer service. Especially Miss Alice.
5 stars for the great staff who work there. They were very kind and helpful. The 3 star was for the discomfort while sitting and watching the movie. Theater #4 was very closed in and not as comfortable as some of the more modern theaters in the area.As you can see I upgraded them from a three star to a 4 star because their kindness and customer service was super!
A nice neighborhood movie theater with a handful of new releases. Reasonable admission and concessions prices. Their theaters are clean and comfortable. They serve decent beers and wines in addition to the standard popcorn and candy choices youd expect from a movie theater. The people working there couldnt be nicer. Its nothing fancy, but its comfortable and convenient.
Nestled behind a small shopping center, its a cozy and quaint location. However, it is quite antiquated. Compared to its local competitors, the seats are not nearly as comfortable as stadium seating. The theater could use a little facelift
The only theater we go to. Big enough to get the latest releases. Small enough to be able to get s seat without fighting the masses.
Great local cinema with first run and independent movies... I appreciate the fact that most patrons here abide by the no cell phone policy. Go to a megaplex if you want to text and talk throughout the entire movie (or even the last five minutes)!
I think its fantastic that Six Forks Cinema is staying afloat during this covid crisis of by offering curbside concessions featuring Popcorn and slushies
An older, small community theater, regular type seats on one level floor - no elevated flooring & not the upgraded, reclining seats; no frills. Limited concessions items with typical movie theater high prices. Popcorn was popped fresh & was good. Theater, restroom & surrounding areas were clean. Parking is sufficient and free.
This is such an awesome throwback theater....sure it doesnt have all the bells and whistles...but gosh it feels nostalgic
This place is nice but it could use a little spark and updating. The seating is nothing special and the they are usually understaffed but the prices for this place are amazing! Very budget friendly and a good place to take the family!
Low staff turnover friendly staff very convenient and good movie selection.
Very nice, great place to watch a movie. Never crowded, cheaper than other theaters. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Fairly nicely appointed theater with first run movies. The complex is kept clean. The counter service provides good service.Parking is fairly closed to the main entrance. Its not readily seen from the main thoroughfare, but easy with the GPS. I have been here twice to get the right show at the right time.
I liked the free popcorn on the floor. It tasted good.
Great family friendly place to watch a movie. Owned and operated by the nicest folks ever! Bathrooms were very clean.
This is by far the best theatre around! Best prices, best popcorn, usually quiet, and outstanding staff. Im always disappointed when I go to other theatres because Sis Forks is just so much better.
Very nice neighborhood theater. Beer and wine available too.
This theater is close, very reasonably priced, clean, features great movies, great popcorn and few know about it so its never mobbed.
Love this theater...friendly staff, decent prices, and nostalgia of my childhood.
A bit dated, but nice. They serve beer and wine. Staff is very nice. I will go back.
Very cool theater! Cheap prices and a nice local theater feel. Popcorn was good.
I agree with all of the good reviews. But be aware that if you say yes to butter on their good popcorn you will get oil, chemicals and flavoring. Not butter. May be best to avoid this chemistry experiment. Dont know which theaters actually apply butter when offering butter. Still..... an excellent theater.
No Commercials! Big cinema chains have saturated their movie starts with lengthy product advertisement assaults, but not Ambassador Entertainment cinemas like this one! Decent prices and wine too!
Great retro movie theater. Older but comfortable. Good prices. Wine and beer served. Seem to have long time employees which speaks well of management.
I love this theater. It is one of the last like it in the area. It is a place to watch movies at affordable rates. And one can get beer or wine
I really like this theatre. Its just the right size, six screens, but not so big you get lost going to the bathroom. The dont have recliners, but thats fine by me. I think its just perfect.
Nice little theatre with good prices. It is almost never crowded. The screens are a bit small, and there arent reclining seats like some theatres have, and can be a bit dirty. However if you just want to see a movie and dont care about luxury, this is a good way to go.
Older cinema but the prices are right and the movies are new. Best place to go for the money.
Small local stadium seats. recently me and my wife went to this place to see one of the recent movie that matched our time. It is a very low key theater with good selection of beers in very very reasonable price, same goes for popcorn. Staffs were very friendly. It will definitely be one of our favorite theater to from now
Simply the best theater in the area, my wife and I only go here. It isnt stadium seating but its never crowded, always has the newest movies and the attending staff in the best. They also have the best kids snack trays that we have encountered. The popcorn is frequently turned over and theres nothing better than the fact that they serve beer and wine here. We have been coming here since we moved to NC in 2004 and we never go anywhere else for movies.
I love this theater; smaller but very clean, lower priced by $1-2, wine & beer, and the best popcorn! No reclining chairs, but so what!
Older theater ... the seats are not good on the body. Other than that the theater is quaint. They truly cannot compete with the newer theaters with the reclining seats. Sorry ...
Laid back atmosphere. Wine and beer. Very convenient
I loved this movie theater. Is No nonsense just a Good theater.
So adorable! I had no idea this theater was hiding behind the shopping center! The staff wear black and white formal uniforms and the tickets are cheap along with the snacks. Great theater quality. Now theres no fancy reclining seats or even assigned seats but there are cup holders! Well worth the price and something fun to do when you wanna see Solo in more of a theatre like when you saw the original Star Wars.
Great pricing. Not the nicest theater but you get what you pay for!
Locally owned, independent movie theatre. Buy local!!
Only went here twice but never an issue and really nice inside!
Simply the best theater in the area. It isnt stadium seating but its never crowded, always has the newest movies and the attending staff in the best. They also have the best kids snack trays that we have encountered.
Older theater but the prices are good and the staff is always nice. They have beer available which is appreciated as well.
If a five star theater is state of the art with top notch service, this little theater should please anyone looking for a small town theater experience in a big city. All the parking, treats, sodas and amenities one would expect, but with six theaters, low staff and probably last years comfort in seating. Quite pleasant, very clean and I certainly left happy.
Sitting in theatre waiting for 8 pm movie. It is now 8:21. They claim the manager is trying to determine how to show the movie. Suggest you try another place.
This theater is not as updated as most, but I love it. When I go, its never too crowded, and the prices are better. They also serve beer.
Nice theatre, seats are a little uncomfortable, popcorn was great and the staff seemed nice.
I ABSOLUTLY LOVE IT AND PLAN ON RETURNING EVERY WEEK!!!!!!!
I love this theater, it is so quaint, smaller than the mega theaters. The people who work there are friendly. And it is not very expensive, plus they serve beer and wine.
Friendly staff, easy access and a well kept older stadium seating theater with beer and wine
I came here when I visited the Raleigh NC, and I can say two thumbs up! Great staff, great and reasonable price for both ticket and food. :) ticket price is much cheaper than the other cinemas in Raleigh, NC but with the same good quality of course!
What a great time. Cant go wrong watching a good movie with great friends. Fresh popcorn and very clean. Staff so friendly.
Very comfortable and welcoming small theater. I prefer the movie theater because the customer friendly staff, it is usually never too crowded, and I can enjoy a beer during the movie.
Watch it here - wonderful experience and great people
Nice little movie theater that isnt one of these mega-complexes with 400 screens and a parking lot so big it takes an hour to find a spot and get inside (helpful in rain and winter!). Staff are always friendly, small lobby area, they do serve beer if you want it and basically just an easy going small business theater that needs support instead of globo-film companies.
Old dated theater. You get what you pay for
Clean, no nonsense, old-school theater that serves beer
Really enjoy this theater..
Cheap, comfortable seats, well appointed. For someone with back/neck issues, these seats are far better than the trendy cushy seats.Bathrooms are a bit sketchy. Great sound and video, and the people are super nice. Our new favorite theater.
Had problems with all theatre movies. Had sound but visual for about 15 minutes. Run down old theater and no enthusiasm with employees.
Support this local gem of a theater. Love the prices, love the staff, love the popcorn. Very clean and rarely, if ever, do we detect sound bleed from adjacent films - a problem at some other area theaters. Its rarely crowded and parking is easy. We are fortunate enough to own a home theater with all the bells and whistles, and are pretty spoiled when it comes to the environment. Watching films out usually involves dealing with rude people texting, talking, making obnoxious noises, etc. But, it seems, for some magical reason, that the patrons of Six Forks Station are better behaved. Maybe they attract an older, more reserved crowd in general, but it makes for a very pleasant movie watching experience IMO. Yes, if they invested a bazillion dollars in recliners it would add to the experience, but as the seats are not uncomfortable, we will take the low ticket and concession prices and be content. Keep doing what your doing - you are our go-to theater.
We love this cinema, friendly people, good prices, locally owned, not a franchise!CHECK IT OUT.
Great value theater. Entrance and snack prices far better.than comparable theaters. Excellent customer service. Still more preveiws than I care to see.
It was a good movie theater but it was really small
Saw Downton Abbey. Whats not to love!
Went to a last showing on a week day. only 4 people in the whole theatre. I had no service and started to text right before the movie was about to end and was scolded like a child that phones are not allowed on in their theaters. I didnt particularly see the harm in writing a text out I couldnt send when the 4 other people in the theatre were not around 5 min before the movie ended but Im the rude one of this story even tho I simply said Im not bothering anyone but Im sorry and put it away and was still being scolded after I put my phone away. (the place is overpriced the seats floors need upgrading. the bathroom is dirty. its not a nice place and the one staff member i encountered is not a friendly person)
This older theater is not huge or fancy in comparison but the job gets done. The ticket/food prices are fair. My popcorn is always good. Sound quality good, seating is comfortable. The place is always clean, and the several times Ive been there the staff are always friendly.
Great small theater with friendly, helpful staff.
Convenient and great to visit. Never crowded.
This place has great chicken McNuggets!!!!!!!!!!! OMG they are so GOOOOD! You should come here! Plus, they have great TP! They also have some pretty good vacuums sold here. They clean up EVERYTHING. Literally everything. So, if you need to get rid of your annoying kids or neighbors or friends, this vacuum TOTALLY works!!! So if you have annoying neighbors this is the vacuum for you!! Also it’s got good chapstick if you got crusty lips like the Krusty Krab!!! OMG you have to get these washing machines they work so well.
Cleanest old theater with cheap popcorn. And its never a crowd. I love this place .
Good for the family. Or first date
We have been coming to this theater exclusively for more than 15 years. The ticket prices are slightly less expensive than the big chains, the popcorn and prices are much better, and we can have a beer or wine. And, the staff are often teenagers from our neighborhood. Parking is easy and so is finding a seat. The staff are ready to clean up as ready as the credits start rolling, sometimes before the lights come back up. Were glad to have such a nice place to watch a movie! Thank you!
I count patrons at various theaters. I spend a lot of time at these theaters, Fri Sat, and Sun. I am in the theater for both matinee and evening shows. By far, the staff at this theatre are courteous to the customers and management. They are customer service driven, and focus on the patrons. I am also impressed by the work ethic they show. There is no standing around, they always find something to do without being asked. Big thumbs up to the staff and management!
This theater always plays the biggest new movies. Prices are reasonable and they keep the place clean. The staff is friendly and its seldom crowded. If youre willing to skip stadium seating for an old school movie experience, this is the best value in movie theaters in North Raleigh.
I absolutely love this theater ️It’s my favorite place to go see movies
The only theater I will go to. Good prices, great staff. Love that you can get beer and wine.
It bv was very nice. Good sound also.
Nice small theater. The decor is rather old, so its not as comfortable as many of the other theaters in the area.
Friendly staff, good popcorn and it seems like the only theater where I can purchase Goobers! I like supporting this theater.
My boyfriend and I have been trying to see They Shall not Grow Old for a while, but we both have super busy schedules. After a busy Monday evening 3/4/19 we decided to go for it and go watch TSNGO at 9:50. The film isnt showing in many places so Six Forks Cinema was our closest option (about 20min drive) we arrived around 9:30. We know that when a film is showing that late you purchase your tickets at the concession, there was a young blonde girl there. We went to open the door and she squinted her face Renee Zellweger style and mouthed sorry we are closed. All of the films they are showing have a late time and there was definitely people there since there was a good 2 handful of cars in the lot. It was extremely frustrating for us and lazy on the theater staffs part. My request is that if your emplyees cant do their mindless job and stay late then you shouldnt market films for 9, 9:30, or 9:50 showing. Additionally, I tried to call to speak to a manager, no one a answered. This cinema gets a negative -5 star rating for failing at the most basic level of customer service. I will continue to try and get in touch with a manager but for now I had to write a review to warn anyone else that may take our path and end up as dissapointed as we were.
Theater is reasonable easily accessible.
Six Forks Cinema has all of the charm of an old time movie theater. Love this place!! They play first run movies at a good price. Theater is always clean and the staff is always friendly. It is a hidden gem!
My review of the theatre has nothing to do with the actual theatre itself but more with the hiring process since never having seen a movie there anyway. I had really worked hard on the application and turned it in to one of the other associates working there. I never heard back even after a follow up phone call. It is what it is I suppose. Such is life. It seemed like a nice place to work at and what they were looking for weekend and part time help seemed ideal. Good luck and wish the best.
They are very convenient for us, though it is smaller than some, they have very freindly staff. They have all the candies. buttered popcorn and drinks.i think they have 6 screens, its so easy to get in and so clean try it if living g here in the 27613. 27614 or 27615 area, located behind Home depoe and food lion off Stricken and SixForks walking distance from the Cypress rest home.
Old style theater, no stadium, no reclining seats, just big screen and lots of seats. Great concession prices and realistic sizes, refills only $1. Clean, friendly, a favorite spot to take the family, and conveniently located.
Good sound great picture! I wish it were doing better
We ordered a kids popcorn combo pack, and requested butter on the popcorn. The manager said they cannot butter the popcorn in the kids pack its against policy, so I ask for her to put some into a sample cup and I would put it on NOPE.......she wouldnt allow that either! I told her that I should be able to make the decision to butter popcorn that I paid for myself, and that although this theater had been our favorite, we wouldnt be back. She said that its all good, find a new favorite Theater. I was very offended by her response. We did just that, and the theater we chose is Regal at Brier Creek, Raleigh NC
No forks needed here! This is a theater or a Cinema!
