I wanted to gift a friend’s kid with all the truck and construction books possible (within my budget). I’m usually one who goes right to amazon, but I had some time to buy and wanted to support a small, local bookstore - You’ve Got Mail is my all time favorite movie! As a business owner and mom, I never have time to go browse and shop, or I get sad stores are out of stock of what I’m looking for. SO, I googled Read With Me, put all the books in my cart, and chose to pick up in store. When I went to pick up a couple of days later, I was smitten with the store! I can’t wait to have time in my schedule to bring my kids and enjoy this shop. And it’s a block away from Marbles! So after your Marbles trip, walk up to Read With Me and buy your family and little friends some books!

What a great bookstore for kids, our children love going there every time we are down town. Christine is so patient with all of the craziness that the kids bring through the door and always helps them find the right book. They do events too, we had our daughters birthday party there and it was perfect! Highly recommend!

I love this store. It curates a WONDERFUL selection of books for babies that are not only fun, but are educational and/or socially conscious. They host lots of events for young readers that I am so excited for my baby to attend one day. Every time I am downtown I like to stop in and get a book or two! It is fun to visit and they are very very welcoming here... a true haven to foster enjoying books in young readers!

Stopped in on a lazy Sunday afternoon with my daughter. We received excellent recommendations based on descriptions of books and series we had already left. Left with three great new books and a list of recommendations for future reading. The value here is really the in-depth knowledge of the literature, which had clearly all been read by the owner. Shop local!

I can’t say enough about how great this bookstore is. Christine (the owner and former librarian) uses her extensive knowledge about children’s literature to Taylor a book to any child’s interests and abilities. The decor is warm, welcoming and full of fun personality. Through the store Christine supports local artists and is active in creating community. I highly recommend!

Amazing downtown destination for our two children. We used to stop by on our way out of Marbles Kids Museum but these days we make regular trips just to stop by the bookstore! You can tell the inventory selection is lovingly curated by the friendly owner. The regular reading times and other group activities are a big hit with our family. Rare to find something as special as this store in this day and age.

Love taking my children to this independent store that has something for everyone. The owner was very sweet and took the time to explain the old typewriter to my very curious son on First Friday in October. We will absolutely be back!

This little childrens book store is a gem in downtown Raleigh. Its the real life Shop Around the Corner (quaint bookstore from the movie Youve Got Mail).Read With Me is clean, and visually appealing with modern shelves, comfortable poofs and places to read and look at books with your child, as well as a meticulously curated collection of childrens books (with beloved classics, and new titles you might have never discovered without visiting this little book shop). Books are at the perfect hight for each age group, with the youngest of childrens books located towards the bottom of the shelves. This theme of an eye for thoughtfulness is woven into the essence of this book store; you can tell there is real passion for children and books bustling behind the scenes.The owner of the store was helpful in making recommendations. The bookstore hosts story times, as well as make-and-take crafts, and summer camps. & It is conveniently located a few blocks from Marbles Childrens Museum, which makes for a nice stop before or after your museum excursion.Simply put, Read With Me is a gift to the community, and a must-stop for parents of avid readers.

This place is super cute. Its nice to see more retail in downtown Raleigh. It has books for toddlers up to young adults. They apparently do story time every so often as well. Big open space which fun colors and carpet. Check it out.

This is my dream bookstore. Unusual, unique, brain-building, esteem-building, multicultural books for kids of all ages. Fun gifts, too. Nice coloring station in the back. Lots of great events. We need more spaces like this for children.
