The museum left us lacking. It had a few cool exhibits of dinosaurs and Native American, but was pretty light on content. I guess it would be considered a top attraction for Price
The Prehistoric Museum was a surprise on a number of levels. I expected dinosaur bones and fossils, but did not expect the variety of other local fossils found, not the larges displays such as a full mammoth, Sabre tooth cat, and other mammals, not to mention some very large Dino displays (of course!). The Human History wing was a pleasant surprise of the local, ancient human history of this area, up until the Spanish arrival.
Great experience, went there as a kid, and brought my family back 20 years later. Great exhibits.
Really good museum with both archeological and paleontology sides. The native American and archaeology side was very interesting and fun to see how people in the local area used to live thousands of years ago. The artifacts on display are very well taken care of and cool to see.The dinosaurs they have on display are really cool to see and they had a good amount of knowledge to share about these locally found dinosaurs of Utah. Clean, fun, and very affordable
They were really good about COVID regulations. One way arrows, face masks required, only one group at a time in the gift shop. I really appreciated that. As for the dinos, it was really fun! Plan for a minimum of an hour. If you are able to read the plaques (ie dont have toddlers - HA!) Id say plan at least 2+ hours.
They have a great exhibit of artist Charlie Johnstons work up right now.
Great place to stop on a homeschool field trip!
A great museum, definitely worth the time and travel to visit.
Great small collection with so much information. I could have spent a week in there to really absorb everything. Both the archaeology and paleontology sides were fascinating. The best part was watching the technicians work in the labs. A good stop for any age.
Its so amazing there is even a gift shop
Love the intimate feel to this hidden wonder. You use your cell phone for a guided audio tour explaining the exhibits. We went during the week and there were only a few others there making it an even greater experience. There are exhibits for all ages and a cute gift shop to find an inexpensive souvenir to take home. Great explanations for the dinosaurs and wonderful exhibits of the Native American culture. Definitely will come back again. Enjoy!
Great stop! We had a wonderful time checking out dah bones.
It was $12 for 3 of us. I liked the set up and staging of most of the exhibits. I found it interesting learning how they made rope and used resources nature had to offer. Identifying what they used to eat by examining microscopic starch molecules seemed cool. As well as the traveling exhibit about footprints was amazing. Its fascinating you can find out so much about how things lived with just a few clues. In the kids area we played Dino checkers ( missing pieces though) and liked it so much we wanna try to see if we can find that game online. We stayed about 1hr 30min. It was a great fun and educational experience!
So cool! We cant wait till they open the newly renovated building. We will definitely be back!!
Great museum packed with more than meets the eye! Interactive exhibits as well as fascinating artifacts on display make this an enjoyable venture for people of all ages. my visit was before the expansion and remodel theyre planning so I can only imagine how much more is to come! Elevator access to the second floor for wheelchair or handicap access. You can use your cellphone (doesnt have to be a smartphone) to have an audio your guide through the different areas of the museum. Fun play center for kids as well as a gift shop. So much packed into a seemingly small building! Clean and well maintained and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cant wait to visit again!
Definitely exceeded my expectations. For anyone passing through, it makes for a wonderful stop on the way to arches. Lots of interesting archeological exhibits as well. We went for the dinosaurs but were pretty impressed by everything else they had. Lots of hands on stuff that is neat, and the history of the area makes it pretty rich in a variety of ancient things. Will recommend for anyone passing through.
A lot of prehistoric items cute little gift shop had plenty of things to explore.
Cool place! Know a lot knowledge
The museum was very interesting, and had many different ways to interact with the displays. Hands on activities, some games, an audio tour available on your phone, and even windows to watch people working on fossils, Im assuming that happens in weekdays. There is a kids area to enhance their learning while they play.A great place at a great price. $6 for adults, and a family group fee is also available.Easy to get to off Route 6, so take an hour to stretch your legs while on a trip through Price.
Its a small museum, but what they have is well done. Its one of the few places thatll let you touch an actual dinosaur bone, and the kids corner was a lot of fun for our toddler
Awesome little museum. Fair price. Real life size dinosaur and mammoth skeletons, prehistoric Indian artifacts. Great 2 hr stop
A fun spot to stop while passing through. Lots of interactive exhibits and neat displays showing the history of the area and of Utah.
Best dinosaur museum in Utah period
Really cool museum! We enjoyed our visit. My daughter especially loved the little kids play area. Good prices and a nice little gift shop too!
Well done smaller museum. Good hands in stuff for the kids. So many typos on the interpretive signs. Lots to see. Good mix of archaeology, culture and palentology.
Marxist rules requires a mask be worn. They will not accept medical exemptions!
This museum might be small but they pack a lot of interesting stuff into a small area. They have everything from dinosaur bones to Native American art. Young kids will love it but for those a little order or without kids, it might not be as interesting. It doesnt take much time to see (maybe 30-45 minutes) so it makes a perfect stop for those seeking to break up the long drive between Salt Lake City and Moab, UT. Look for the WWI & WWII memorial out front.
I absolutely loved each of my visits to this museum! They let me come and examine some artifacts I was researching and volunteered more information than I hoped to find. Extremely helpful and accommodating! Well worth your time!
Great place to take your kids. My kids had fun learning about the dinosaurs. Gift shop staff could have been a little more friendly towards my children.
This place was AWESOME!! Dinosaurs, mammoths and local Native American history. This is was well worth the $6 admission.
Best place to visit with the family
My family was in the area visiting other family and we stopped in on our way out. The staff were wonderful and the facility was amazing. I was pretty surprised because I usually dont see such nice facilities in extremely rural areas. My family spent 2-3 hours there and had a great time. They have a lot of large prehistoric animal skeletons there.
Great place for a visit!
Really a very nice museum. Lots of bones and neat displays. Definitely the older museum display style but looks like they are updating displays. A couple of area blocked off for redesigning. Very affordable especially for families with small kids who want to see some bones without making a huge all day outing.
Great place to visit, and see awesome relics of our past. Displays are gorgeous and informative. Staff is very friendly.
For a small town museum, this one is terrific! Its worth the trip just to see the statue in front of the museum. Seriously. :-) The ladies who greeted us were very nice and gave us a lot of good information about the museum and the town. Fantastic dinosaurs skeletons and information about local prehistoric Native Americans tribes. We also got to enjoy a fantastic night skies photo exhibit. When you leave, stop by the local coffee shop for a tasty brew and a snack!
We stopped by Price for lunch and saw a sign, so we wanted to go to stretch our legs. It was a lot of fun and interesting.
Must see one of prices beautiful attractions
This museum is fairly well put together. However the price of admission is beyond what I would consider reasonable for a museum of this size.
Super neat place to check out when you are in Price. So many people just drive on by but the fossils here are incredible and found just a few miles out of town. Way better then large museums that dont allow you to experience this up close
Though small, this museum is at once playful and enlightening. The labor of love is evident in the heaps of information on fossils, rocks, and artifacts. The layout is easy to peruse and comfortable. Employees are always kind and ready to help. This is definitely worth a visit while in Price to better understand the long and sobering history of minerals and life in Utahs mountainous deserts.
My kids loved it. It is very affordable and the displays were fantastic. The ladies that worked there were also very nice. All around great experience. Im glad we went
It was a pretty good museum and I have been to several. I thought this yard stick representation of the earths timeline was brilliant. Nothing there blew me away but I think its worth 1-2 hours of your time.
Clean, up to date, well organized, very well thought out. Many interesting displays and research .
Our visit there was a fantastic time for my 5 and 7 year olds...
Lots of cool exhibits and not too crowded (at least not when I went).
Has a small gift shop, a few dinosaurs and is a respectable museum for a small town. Cute little play area for kids. Very very nice receptionist.
I miss this place! Went here with my son often before i moved! We could spend all day here.
Good information about dinosaurs and Native Americans. When we were there it had a limited time weaving area.
This is a gem. We spent a lot more time here than in other natural history museums. Lots of interesting displays about dinosaurs and ancient life. There is a kids corner with sand and dinosaur figures. A Utah raptor greets you at the entrance. We planned our trip around this place and we were not disappointed, its worth a trip if you and/or your kids are interested in dinosaurs.
Great place to go for kids interested in dinosaurs. Inexpensive for a family pass. Plan on two hours to see everything.
It had been awhile since i had been there.I was pleasantly surprised! Good little museum.
For a small venue it is kept interesting. A few exhibits were down, but not enough to make is feel we wasted money. It would be nice to see more, but it was enjoyable
What a surprisingly, enjoyable stroll through prehistoric history. We wanted to learn more about the area and state and we did! Very engaging displays. Easy to view. A varied interest of artifacts. Well done!
Excellent museum. Very well-designed exhibits. A must see in Price! Additional exhibits are also underway.
Awesome little gem! Not a large place but great opportunity to learn about Utah prehistoric past. The dinosour collection is really cool. If driving through price take break spend an hour here you will not regret it at all. You can thank me later.
Its pretty cool. My children really enjoy it.
Very good. Loved the fact that they had two different museums in the same building. Also loved the interactive barcode information!
My grandson was infatuated with the place. He loved it the price to get in was fair. Plus the gifts were nice
It was a great day for the kids to go see the museum and do activities. We all enjoyed it. USUEastern museum is a great place to visit and they have fun activities for kids. Today was the free museum day.
Our 3 and 1 year olds loved it! Lots to do and see.
Big time museum in a small town. Good job USU
Its a fun museum visit, small enough for the kids to learn and be done before they lose attention. We had fun.
Fun museum thats fun for both adults and children! I went with my sister in laws and three young children and everyone had fun!
Cheap admission, nice dinosaurs, native relics and art. Ive gone a few times and the employees are always kind and professional
Its a great place for all ages to come and get your knowledge on!
This is one of my favorite places to visit in price. As a veteran he was free to both my wife and I. Seems like theyre conveniently upgrading the exhibits and all are fascinating. If you havent been there it should be on your bucket list
It was really good. It was really cool to learn about dinousours and native Americans . Needs more kid friendly displays. More hands on exhibits for kids.
Great small museum very resonabley priced. If you are in Price UT you should definitely check it out.
Its a great community gathering place in front at the Peace Guardens. Every Thursday in the summer at 7 p.m. we have the Culture Connection free concerts in the park
Great place with many good explanations and variety.
The finest dinosaur museum in the West.
This isnt a bad little museum. There are some interesting things in it that Ive never seen in other museums before. The reason for this is that a lot of the content is geared towards local history, which is what gives it a unique feel. Its pretty cheap, as well, and it has a small gift shop. Its definitely not a bad way to spend a few hours, and if youre interested in local history, such as old tribes that lived in the area and dinosaur bones found locally, you may really enjoy visiting.
A real gem. The exhibits exceed many large cities but its all focused on discoveries in Utah
Thank you for wearing mask
This place is excellent! Fossils, Native American archeology and dinosaur exhibits make for a very educational experience.
Very nice exhibit, the staff were very informative and gracious. The area has a lot to offer, so stop by here and try to get some pointers
Had some interesting information. I learned a lot. Would recommend
For a small town museum this place was awesome.
Natural history and dinosaurs! Fantastic.
Pretty cool place tonsee some utah history. A few displays are being redone and thats only reason for 4 star. Price is reasonable
A bit pricey. $36 for me and three kids. Cool museum with lots of exhibits. Needs updating though.
Fantastic museum with a variety of great exhibits.
It was a nice quaint area.
Very nice place great to see the utah raptor
Great musem for a small college owned museum they are currently renovating so some displays are not quite complete also the renovation is causing certain areas to feel cramped and confined but definitely a good educational trip for you and your kiddos when driving through price utah they have a kids area where kids can play archeologists and uncover the remains of an allosaurus.
For a small museum, it has an amazing collection of fossils and artifacts.
Cool small town stop!
This museum is really well done. I learned a lot and I like the way the museum is set up. The displays really brought the history alive. The guided tour via cell phone really added a lot to the museum visit. If you have kids they will love this place.
Professional displays of prehistoric Utah as well as the ancient Indian cultures and local art. The museum is slated for a remodel, well worth the visit and the entrance fee!
This was an awesome place.
Lots of great local history
Easy to get to and completely interesting. This is a must see place for everyone!
It was fun for the kids. They really changes it up from when I was a kid. So worth going too.
A great museum, even without displays under development!
Great little place. Small but still worth the $6 to get in.
Dinosaurs from the nearby quarry and really old Fremont culture artifacts such as rabbit pelthundreds of years old
This museum is fairly small but has nice displays of fossils and dinosaurs. There were also quite a few dinosaur tracks which had been removed from local mines as well as fossilized dinosaur eggs.Entrance fee was $12, parking was free right in front of the museum. We visited on Feb 5th, 2018.
