Sharlot Hall would be proud of how this museum continues to celebrate her legacy and inspire visitors. Set in well-maintained gardens, the museum is made up of authentic representations of buildings from Prescotts early beginnings as well as the museum itself. All the docents are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. A gift shop is housed in one of the old buildings. There is so much to see and learn here about how the early settlers of Prescott lived, and there are plenty of places outside to take a break which makes it an ideal place for the whole family. There is something to engage every age group here.

Weve driven by this Museum a few dozen times on our visits to Prescott. We finally decided to check it out. Definetly the right choice. This place is awesome! Its incredible how much information you learn in just 1-2 hour tour around the grounds. The volunteers through out the tour were very knowledgeable on all the great facts about the museum. Great learning and family experience. In the background of the picture is whats called the Governors Mansion. Arizonas first 2 Governers lived in it at the time of their term.

I love this museum. Besides hosting the original governors mansion at its site but spot, there is reconstructed Fort Misery, a school house, the Fremont house and Bashford house. Original buildings moved and preserved. This museum has a print shop with working presses. The museum volunteers dress in period clothing right down to their skivvies and deliver wonderful information with passion and excitement. There is also a larger, newer building that hosts some fabulous pieces of art. Well worth the visit. Try to visit when they are having demonstrations like candle making, corn husk dolls and talk to Bi...she is a wealth of information on medicinal plants.

A beautifully preserved time capsule! We went during a museum event in which period dressed volunteers fascinated us with tales of early pioneers to this area and what general living conditions were like when Prescott was young. The rose gardens are a delight, as well. A parking structure for shaded parking is only a block and a half away. If you love history as I do, youll enjoy your visit.

A great place to visit in Prescott. You can walk through several buildings and learn a lot about the local history. Some of the building are modeled after the traditional homes the pioneers used. They have some good parking in the back of the museum, and they also have some places that would be a great place to go picnicking during your visit.Sometimes they even will host special events where you can learn some of the old skills that were necessary to survive in the wild west.
