Weve been members for 2 years now, and the boat club simply is the best way to do boating! They own, maintain, and insure the boats. We just show up and take the boat out. We knew NOTHING about boating prior to joining and their training was patient and unlimited until we felt comfortable with the equipment.

Had an amazing weekend on the boat! The customer service from Nate and Rob were equally as amazing as the cleanliness of the boat and the facility! Hands down the BEST experience! The the view/ location is amazing!

At Freedom Boat Club the staff meet you at your car unloads your stuff and put it on the boat that you have previously selected. You go boating for the day and then return to a doc staff member waiting to help you tie up the boat. They unload your stuff and bring it back to your car and load your car and you go home. Its that simple. Boating made easy.

Joining the club was one of the best decisions Ive made. I came across this idea after considering buying a boat and speaking to boat owner friends. The cost of the club is exponentially lower than owning, and because I can just pull up, take a boat out, and walk away when I return, I boat more than my friends who own and need to take the extra time to clean and/or re-trailer and transport their boats every time they go out. The owner Andy is very involved in every aspect of the membership experience. In addition, he has gone above and beyond his duty to fix an issue I had when I was using an associate club in another region. This is truly white-glove service with an amazing owner who takes pride in his boats, staff and his club.

I cant say enough about Freedom Boat Club and their staff. Our family was looking for something fun to stay busy over the summer due to COVID-19 and we stumbled upon Freedom. It was the best decision we could have ever made, and we plan on staying for much longer that we initially thought. They have the best staff and customer service and genuinely care about taking care of their members and ensuring we all have a great time on the water. All the training you need to be comfortable is included in your membership as well! We take the boat out usually once a week if not more and have never had any issues with getting a reservation for a boat. Zero stress, zero hassle, just show up and youre on the water in minutes! (No boat cleaning is my favorite part haha).

FBC is amazing! The boats are awesome/clean/new (my favorite is the SeaRay), staff is very courteous and friendly, the atmosphere of the club and vibes are amazing. FBC of HR is an Amazing place to get on the water hassel free! I love that we hop on one of the new/clean/fresh boats they offer to enjoy the rivers, inlets and restaurants on the water that surround The Chesapeake Bay.I love to go to Suffolk (nansemond river) to Decoys, intercoastal to go to Big Woodys, east beach to Stoneys and Longboards, and of course Lynnhaven to hit up one of the many waterfront restaurants they offer. But, who can forget the Narrows?! That is always a fun and exciting time.I can’t forget to mention the tons of great fishing spots we have hit up in the fishing boats they offer! I’m soo happy on the water and my family is excited we found FBC to just escalate our weekends and week nights to the next level!

Ive always owned a smaller fishing boat for as long as I can remember. This is a no brainer, is less expensive than owning a boat and definitely is less time consuming. Plus the staff is amazing and they go out of their way to please you. I finally sold the last boat I owned and Im now a member of Freedom Boat Club.

I dont often take time to write a review. But as a member of Freedom Boat Club I actually want to! The experience has been great each and every time we go out on the water! The Staff is hospitable and patient, the boats are all new, the training is unlimited, the availability of the boats is amazing I have not missed a weekend yet!

I cant say enough good things about Freedom Boat Club. Conceptually, having access to several types of boats, all extremely new AND unlimited lessons to be able to drive confidently and not wreck when docking. I had never boated prior to joining a few months ago, and we cant spend enough time enjoying the water. Our friends are getting great experiences to remember for lifetimes! PRO: show up and have your stuff moved from car to boat, PRO: various boats for various outings, PRO: when done we just come back, no cleaning, no fueling, no hassle PRO: have never not been able to make a reservation CON: we have to go to work versus go out on the boat everyday. The owners and team are awesome and know you by name! Friends dont let friends buy boats, we show them how to do it without all the hassle by bringing them with us.

Looking to get into boating? This is a great place to start! They own the boats and you own the water! They train you on how to operate and all you do is show up and they bill you for the gas later. Theyll even help you unload your car! Really takes the hassle out of boat ownership!

Freedom Boat Club is a no-brainer for anyone without the time, money or energy to maintain a boat of their own. It costs a fraction of the price, and I love that the staff loads your cooler and belongings onto the boat for you!

I have been a member since January 2019 and it has been great. The staff, Captain Nate especially, has been wonderful. I discussed purchasing a boat but decided to give this a try once I looked at everything they had to offer. I have access to a multiple style of boats, it is ready to go when I want to go, and when finished I dock it and go home. Nothing beats a few fun hours (or all day) on the water with no worries and no fuss.

The Freedom Boat Club here in Portsmouth has been, and continues to be, the best purchase I’ve made this year! I’m able to take a boat out with my family for an amazing day on the water and when we’ve had our fun, we dock the boat and get to head home-worry free! No upkeep and maintenance hassle. They take care of all the headaches!Being new to maneuvering a boat on my own, I was skeptical at first. But Nate was an awesome teacher and he was patient with me during my training course. By the end I felt capable and confident.The location of the boat club is great. Right across from the new Waterside District. I love to dock there after a long day on the water and enjoy a nice dinner with my family. I truly believe the Freedom Boat Club is the only way to go for someone with a busy lifestyle like myself!!!!

My wife and I have been members of this club for about a month and we have had a wonderful experience. I have only a small amount of prior experience with boats, but the training and education for this club is first rate. After getting my Coast Guard safety training online, my wife and I spent a day with Andy, one of the owners, who spent several hours demonstrating small boat handling skills and patiently working with us as we developed those skills ourselves. It was basic and manageable; review of rules of the road, handling a small boat in a confined space, basic line handling, docking, and setting anchor...the basics that we would need to enjoy a day out on the water as a family. We put it to the test a couple weeks later when we took a boat out on our own and we had a great time. No difficulties with radio communications, tying up at Waterside to have dinner, dropping anchor to let the kids swim...the essentials of what you need as a new boater. The staff are incredibly warm and approachable and have offered as much training as we would like. I plan to go back for more training on the other platforms as we continue to grow as boaters. Thanks everyone!

My highest respect to the staff working with Freedom Boat Club. Nate, Trussie, and Andy made sure that we were well looked after. Located conveniently by the Portsmouth tunnel, they have plenty of parking and a modern reception area with a harbor view. We were able to choose from a selection of newer models of various boats. Whether youre looking for speed, cruising with friends, or fishing, theres a perfect boat for you. We had a great time with no worries of cleaning the boat afterward. They take care of all maintenance, so you are left to enjoy your day with friends and family. Thanks to Freedom Boat Club for making boating such a convenience without the hassle. ;)

The boats are well taken care of and a pleasure to go out on. I highly recommend this club to anyone who is thinking of getting into boating or have been into boating for years.

The staff of Freedom Boat Club is amazing! I felt extremely safe out on the water with them and Andy, Nate, and Trussie took really great care of us. If you want to own a boat but are scared of the cost of upkeep, this is definitely the way to go!

Great day on the water! Rob the dockmaster is great. When I pulled in I left the motor in reverse. He just laughed and said dont worry...it happens all the time. Great customer service...he even help us cart stuff out to the car.

The office and dock staff are extremely friendly and very knowledgeable of boating and the local area. The boats are brand new and looked to be kept up perfectly. Rob who is the main person for dock staff is a huge help with getting you out on the water and is always there to give you a hand on the way back in.

I had so much fun! The staff was very friendly and informative. Very easy to see why so many people have a membership through them. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks a lot, guys!

Captain Nate was wonderful! We really enjoyed taking the boat across the water to Waterside and watching the 4th of July fireworks from the club! Everything was top notch!
