If you’re looking for a hike through trash, homeless camps and love hearing the sound of the freeway, this is the hike for you! Felt nauseous from the car fumes. Won’t be back.

Quieter than the other choices

The view is nice, but there’s not too much to this place. I wouldnt go out of my way, but if youre close by, it wouldnt hurt to stop by for a quick visit on a beautiful day.

Great views

Terrific views both day and night. Watch planes take off and land, get a 360 view of Portland, and view both rivers. FREE parking all around. Easy walk up to the top. I witnessed an entertaining scene from a Harry Potter film with 4 people shooting Roman candles at each other, brilliant! The neighborhood that you drive through to get to the top is lined with beautiful custom homes.

Crowded

Nice place to get a sweeping view from high ground with a view of Mt Hood, Mt St Helens and Columbia River. Plus lots of airplane approaching PDX for landing. Sunset is a good time to visit although street parking might be to come by. Very short walk up from the street.

Beautiful space for kids to run around, nice view, you can see airplanes landing. The kids loved it. With some yellow and white flowers blooming. My son enjoyed picking and presenting them to us as gift. Sooo adorable

Very nice place to picnic or just look out over Portland.

It was chilly. A fog veiled the valley. The tips of the Mt. Peaks reflected a late Fall sun. I always like the stone structures. Lock your car.

Came on a Saturday to see the sunset. Lots of people there. Overall a nice place to go chill and have a picnic. Would do again despite the large amount of people there.

Very nice views on many Cascade mountains right from within the city limits. Also great place to watch the planes land at PDX.

Nice spot to catch a sunrise. Regular daylight isnt half bad either.

I liked going to this place this past winter. but now i go and the upper road is closed off, making it difficult to get up to the viewpoints. what am i missing?

Spectacular views from all vantage points! Its definitely a must do! And who knows, maybe youll luck out and experience a little snow like I did on my first visit.

Great view of the city and the Colombia; I wish the lamps were dimmer for a better view of the city lights. It smells like pee.

Awesome, breathtaking, Majestic.

I was fortunate enough to get invited to a party at a residence on Rocky Butte one Fourth of July (they closed the street to non-resident vehicles at the time), where you can see basically every fireworks display from Oregon City to Vancouver, including everything shot up independently in the surrounding neighborhoods. It was awesome.

Full 360 degree view of Portland and surrounding area. And its right in the city - near 205 and 84. Must see.

A must see in Portland. Also plenty of parking. Trails are worth the walk too.

Great views, especially the airplanes flying in.

For the view of Downtown, Pittock Mansion is the place. But for the view of outskirts, including the pdx airport, freeways and industries, Rocky Butte is the place!

I had a camp here. Yes, I was homeless.
