The Richard Boyd Art Gallery is a great find in the Portland Area, located on Peak Island. The building the gallery is housed in is reminiscent of a Pennsylvania barn. The day of our visit, we had the pleasure of being shown the gallery by Pam. Her passion for the art and artists is infectious. Her and her husband do an excellent job of highlighting artists from the New England area. I can’t recommend planning a visit to the Gallery enough. It was easily one of my favorite parts of our trip.
This Gallery is a hidden gem on Peak Island. They support the art community by providing an amazing venue and curator to present their work. This was scheduled as a quick stop while visiting the island but turned out to be our favorite part of the day. Pam is extremely knowledge about the artists and the variety and styles of art they create. We would take the ferry again just to see the rotating collection.
Loved stumbling into this gallery! When my family and I visited, the exhibit on display was Scenes of Maine. The artwork was so beautiful, tranquil and it also got us excited about exploring. I have to say that Pamela, the owner, was beyond friendly and warm. It was really nice talking to her about the artwork and her knowledge of the island. Richard Boyd Art Gallery is definitely a gem for Peaks Island and we appreciated it! Highly recommend stopping by if they are open!
Richard Boyd is a welcoming intimate gallery that allows people to spend time looking at the works of art being displayed. The month of September is specifically focused on women artists. So well worth a trip over to Peaks Island!
Great people & love what they do for the artists.
Lovely gallery with a new exhibit of fine arts every month.
