So... Ive been to 3 different companies and 6 different rooms. Starchrash??? Dont waste your time. you will be reading through a small novel rather than solving puzzles. These puzzles are essentially all linear so dont expect to divide and conquer. you will be reading over the shoulders of one another for the next clue.

Got a chance to try out the seance room. Wow! The attention to detail in the game was wonderful. Unlike other escape rooms that make solving a puzzel super easy, you actually have to think in this room. The clues were great and had just the right level of difficulty. Our group actually got to the last clue and did not escape but it was totally worth it. Its the first time I havent escaped a room but it was hands down the most fun Ive had yet in an escape room experience. I would highly recommend Stumptown. I plan to go back next week and introduce my kids to the escape room experience.

Made a reservation, paid, and got a confirmation email. When we got there it didnt look like anyone had been there for weeks.

A lot more fun and doable than I thought escape rooms were like. The puzzles were not too hard but not easy either. The game master was very helpful and facilitative to the different ages in our group. The room itself is simple but looks cool and efficiently brings you into the world of the game.

I am what you call an escape room junkie, and this company is definitely in my top 5 favorite companies! The staff is always so friendly, and the games are very well put together. Set design is 10/10, which is HUGE to me. They really make you feel submerged in the game. And after escaping all of their rooms, you get a free t-shirt! Highly reccomend for all escapees at any level! Cant wait for more rooms to open.

Some of the best escape games in Portland with a really nice staff. They lean more towards fun than scary, which is perfect for us.

I visited Stumptown Escape Games a few months ago with my dad. We absolutely loved it. We loved The Oregon Files so much that we immediately played Seance, and we would have tried signing up for another if we didnt have to get back to Chicago.Ive solved about 300 escape rooms, and Stumptown still stands out as one of my more memorable experiences. Both games were very well designed, challenging, and a ton of fun. The puzzles and themes were very unique and give players a lot to explore.I definitely plan to revisit Stumptown the next time Im in this part of the country!

The Escape rooms are fun,but kind of hard on the brain,so bring your A Game and a group of friends is the way to go. Playing with strangers is A lil challenging .

Room experience was all right over all. Staff I physically interacted with did well over all. However. . . I was booking for birthday event for a friend, accidentally booked a Saturday instead of Friday. Tried to get a hold of someone within a couple of hours of realizing the mistake. No one to answer phone calls.Got ZERO email response about the question after receiving previous responses to other questions.I talked to someone at the building during our escape room experience where they said the refunded and cancelled our extra appointment. Refund never happened to my credit card. I gave it a few weeks to let the refund process, it has been over 3 weeks ago. And have reached out a few times to the company with no response.Planning to on not going here again because of losing over $100.

One of the better designed rooms around Portland, what they lacked in story they made up with fun puzzles and props. Awesome staff, too, and they even gave us refreshments after our game. I highly recommend Stumptown Escape!

The room was fairly nonsensical, the puzzles making large leaps of logic, the riddles misleading and there was almost no through thread to let you know which puzzle to work on next. We have done dozens of escape games and this was by far the worst. Topher was our game master, he was exceptionally rude and gave odd clues. Also he gave so many clues without us requesting any. When we first arrived we were directed to fill out waivers and then entirely ignored. The individual rooms are very noisy and you can hear everything happening in the other games witch is very distracting and destroys the storyline.

Very fun escape rooms that have great themes. Challenging, thematic, and very nice staff. We tried the ghost room and we got to peek in the space room. Super cool looking and would love to go back for it!

A very fun place, theyve got good Escape Rooms. The rooms are well-maintained, the puzzles are a bit tricky, and the staff is pretty nice. A good place to take a group for a bonding activity. The rooms are a little bit pricey, though.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday today and it was awesome. Ashley was absolutely awesome and so nice! We played Oregon Files and it was a blast. The room was difficult enough to feel like a puzzle and to not be too easy. Will definitely be coming back.

My daughter chose this venue for her 14th birthday celebration. The seance room. The young lady who checked them in and the hostess who oversaw the event were engaged, friendly, and fun. The girls declared it to be one of the best times theyd had. When we asked if they wanted to return at some point to try a different room, the response was an enthusiastic yes.

Fun adventure to do with friends! I wish wed had 2 more minutes, but such is the law of the escape room. The set for Starcrash was great, though some tweaks would have improved our odds, such as properly aligning the decoder chart. Well definitely try another room!

There was a minor fiasco with my gift certificate its purchased and I was I a total panic. The owner was absolutely incredible and fast about fixing it even though I was a bit difficult...and they were closed. He took extra time to fix the issues and he even threw an extras that he didnt have to. Wow! I will send everyone I know this way!! Fast and great service even though they were closed! Thank you again and we WILL be returning customers!!

The best escape room Ive been to! Good parking, very clear directions on how to play, and the family that runs it is awesome. They are so nice and are excellent game masters. My mom and I did Oregon Files. Fun premise, good puzzles, and we definitely appreciated the hints. Well come back!

Had a great time, the puzzles are difficult but not impossible. The rooms are formatted very cleverly. Topher was our gamemaster and he made the experience for us—explained everything very clearly and was very positive and fun. Ask for Topher when you go if possible.

We had so much fun escaping a room at Stumptown Escape Games! Everyone on staff was super friendly and they helped us along when we got super stuck but they never gave anything away. Ive done several escape rooms and Stumptown is by far the best around. The staff is extremely helpful and professional. The rooms are creative and just hard enough to require everyone to get involved. We will definitely be back to try the new room.

My best friend and I played their Starship room and we had an absolute blast! Let me start by saying that we accidentally booked our room for the wrong day at a time we couldnt commit to (user error ) and they were closed the day we made said accidental booking. So first thing the next day, we called and asked if it would be at all possible to play at a later time, and they said they needed to ensure they could find a game master willing to stay but if so, they were more than happy to accommodate our foolish selves. Luckily, their GM Miah said yes! We walked in a tad embarrassed that we may be putting someone out specifically to run one more game just for us (we were alone in the booking) only to be greeted by Miah, on a Friday night, happy as can be. He had us laughing through the whole room, and with less than 2 minutes to spare, we became the 2nd group of two people to escape the Starship room! I was only visiting from Arizona, but I will make it a point to do more of their rooms when in Oregon next time! SPECIFICALLY for Miah. Miah - man. Thank YOU. You are the epitome of customer service. Best experience Ive ever had in an ER, and I have played several. Kudos, Stumptown, yall have one hell of a game master on your hands.

Awesome Experience!!! These rooms are great, they ride the fine line of being hard enough to be very rewarding but not quite hard enough to be absolutely frustrating. The puzzles are very well thought out and the rooms are extremely well made. Will definitely be coming back when they open the Nikola Tesla room!

Had a fantastic time here. We beat the Starcrash room: It wasnt easy but the staff is there to add entertainment as well as light assistance as needed. It is a well thought out room and given these need to change fairly often to offer repeat guest new opportunities the owners put great care into making them pretty quality setups. We had a birthday party of 12 adults playing and we will be back to try the other ones! Matt - Thank you again for making it a great experience!

Everyone at Stumptown games has gone above and beyond to make our times in their rooms enjoyable. Matt was very kind in booking a private room for just my wife and I this last Sunday, and everyone at Stumptown did such a great job that my wife had blast and cant wait to go back. We will be booking the new Seance room this coming month.

All positive feedback. We booked 4 rooms over 2 days for a work event. Everyone had a great time and it has added a lot of positive interactions at work. “How long did that take?” or “who figured this out?” Would definitely recommend for a work event.

We did the seyance room. The puzzles were varied but not too difficult to figure out, and hints were very plentiful for when we got stuck or missed details. The staff was fun and we got to sign the winners wall!

It was a ton of fun and I would definitely do it again. It was the second escape room I had ever been to and I was scared I had just done to a good one the first and this would let me down but it did NOT! They were all very kind, would help as much as you asked but only when they knew you weren’t close to getting it, always kept an eye through the cameras to make sure we weren’t struggling to bad and the hints didn’t give it away just gave you a push. We got really close, with a lot of hints, but I loved it. Only thing I wish was a tiny different was there should have been a first hint and a specific end goal. We were just a little lost on what our end goal was. But everyone in the room still absolutely LOVED it!

Great place!! The family that owns this place is so friendly. They give you unlimited hints, point you in the right direction if you go in the wrong direction. They make it fun!!! Highly recommend checking out this place.

Just got done with the Oregon Files room, loads of fun. This is the 2nd escape room that I have done and this was by far better than the first. Lots of puzzles that require thinking and strong communication. Will definitely be back to try other rooms. Great place to go!

We had a blast doing The Oregon room. With just 4 of us we used most of the hour but still escaped. Adysen was an awesome host.

The room we played was had similar challenges and they could have been more diverse for the fun sake. Also felt the controller was giving away clues to make you pass.

The game we played was a blast and our game master was phenomenal.

Have tried two of their rooms and looking forward to checking out more. Both of the rooms (The Oregon Files and Starcrash) had fun sets and decorations and a nice mix of puzzles. Interaction with the game master was entertaining too, and helpful without giving away too much. Stumptown Escape Games also has much better booking availability than a lot of other companies, which made it easy to find a time that worked for us.

This was so much fun! We took our twin girls and their friends for their 13th birthday party. It was a hit! Something theyll be talking about for ages. Im already making plans to go back. The staff was amazing, friendly, and helpful.

We went on a Thursday night ( you can get the entire room on a Monday or Thursday for $129). If it is not Mon. or Thur. the whole room is $179 for 8 player rooms, $219 for 10 player and $259 for 12 player!! Needless to say, go on a Monday or Thursday! We did the Wardenclyffe room which is for 10 people. We would have done the Starcrash room that accomodates 12 people but we booked just the day before and it wasnt available at the time we needed. Upon arriving everyone has to fill out a waiver. Our host was very fun and friendly. The escape room itself was fun and we all had a great time. Our host gave us some help when he saw we needed it without giving away too much! We almost escaped. Personally dont know if I would go again. I definitely would not EVER pay full price to go ($34 per person if you are not getting the whole room). Definitely not worth that much but if you want to try something new on a Monday or Thursday with 8-12 people, Id say go for it!

The game master somehow didnt put a clue in the right spot so we got hung up for a while but still made it out with 6 seconds to spare and got to sign the door.
