Took a private charter with captain Pete and captain Stan today. They were great. Worked with the kids to get them comfortable. Made sure everyone was safe and did all they could to make the trip enjoyable.We highly recommend and can’t wait to go out again.

I have been fishing with captain Kenney for over 20 years and this is The best fishing charter I have been on by far. My first time fishing and I enjoyed it even though I did not catch anything. The crew is friendly and very helpful. If it is your first time they will help you set up and teach you how to fish. They have snacks and refreshments available for purchase onboard. You can bring beer onboard with you. It is very kid friendly as well. I would do this again and probably next time I go with a group of my friends.

My son wanted to go fishing for his birthday so I went on Groupon and I found Angler. They went fishing on 7/27/19 and they had an amazing time. They caught some fishes and they said the sights from the boat was awesome. Everyone said they would do it again because they had fun and the staff was great!

We had a wonderful time. The staff (cant remember their names) were very helpful and friendly. Although no one on our side of the boat caught any BIG fluke, everyone caught something. Our group caught a baby shark, sea robins and small fluke and had a fun time. I would highly recommend the Angler to families, individuals and couples! We tipped the crew because we thought that they really earned it! Boat was kept clean throughout the trip and visited many sites looking for fish.Thanks for a wonderful time!

My family and I saw a deal for this location on Groupon, which we decided to purchase in order to go on their half-day fishing trip on Mothers day. The whole experience was a real treat.The boat left promptly at the designated time. The crew was very helpful and the boat was neat and tidy. They provided fishing rods and bait (the rods were for rent at an affordable price, $3). Throughout the trip, we made four stops. The sights were simply breathtaking. It was evident that the captain was going above and beyond to provide a nice experience for us--despite the lack of bites from the fish!We were also allowed coolers and snacks on the boat--an added bonus! Overall, a great experience which Id highly recommend. Give these guys a try!

I booked a private charter for my brothers bachelor party on the Angler V. We had 10 people and there was PLENTY of room and you could easily fit 15-18 people comfortably for fishing. Captain Pete was AMAZING! But 1st mate Bern she really made the trip SOO much fun!! I will 100% be coming back to fish with Captain Pete and Bern! We did a day fishing trip for fluke and porgies and caught quite a few fish but only one keeper fluke. We will be coming back down for a night fishing trip for Stripers for sure! I would 1000% recommend this charter and I would definitely ask for Captain Pete and Bern!!! We had a blast and look forward to fishing with these guys again!

Capt Stan and First Mate Phil made this a fun and safe time for the entire family. We were lucky and they were biting! We caught porgies, blue fish, sea robins and various other fish. Just show up and have a blast. Nice views and a clean ship. They make it fun and relaxing. Cant wait to go again.

Had a great time. We caught 9 sea robins and 1 fluke, none of which we were able to take home. Captain Pete was cool. I brought a 2 year old daughter and guess he was supposed to charge her but didnt. Friendly staff. Only improvement is the direction sign as soon as one enters into the wharf. I had to ask around to find the boarding spot. If theres a big sign that says Angler Fishing, thatd be great. I will come again next time and hopefully we catch ones we can bring home!!

We went out with about 8 family members in April 2013 looking for striped bass. We got skunked but the crew was helpful and fun and the only thing that could have made the day better was to bring home some fish.Go Fishing..............youll have a good time

I love the Angler Fleet. I discovered the Angler by Groupon almost three years ago and I keep coming back. The mates are always courteous and helpful. I am not new to fishing. I have been fishing since I was five and I know that theres a reason why its called fishing and not catching -- you never know what the day will be. Thats the fun of it. The boat is always clean and well maintained. The mates are knowledgeable. This is a great for your first entry into fishing. Its a great boat if you are a seasoned fisherman or a fishing family. I always catch when I am out with the Angler fleet. They sail off the coast of the beautiful North Shore of Long Island with fantastic views of the some spectacular homes with New York City off in the distance.The boats are kept clean and the grew is always nice and friendly offering to help. Definitely worth the time and money.

Did their 4 hour fishing trip in the afternoon and it was amazing. Crew was attentive and provided the assistance needed for someone who has never fished before. We sailed to near Sands Point and then across to City Island and got great views of both places.

Our experience on the Angler was one of the best on Long Island. The crew was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The boat was clean and well tended to. The smaller vessel size leant itself to a more intimate and personal experience. A great day on the beautiful north shore.

My friend Bernadette turned me onto the Angler. She knows how much my daughter and I enjoy fishing. By far this is the cleanest fleet I have ever been on. The Capt and mates are friendly and attentive. They show extra special attention to my daughter which is a plus for me. I live in Bay Shore and Captree is 10 min away from my house but I choose to take the ride to Port Washington to fish with this fleet.

I went with my 2 kids, ages 14 and 16, as well as my cousin. The crew of the fleet was very helpful on teaching the kids the proper way to fish on the boat as well as untangling their lines. The entire group had a great morning fishing. I would recommend this as a fun family activity for all.

Went with my 6yr old son and we had a really good time. Everyone on the boat was really helpful and jovial, seemed more like they were friends hanging out than employees working. Fish was biting that day too (but they were too damn smart, it was amazing how many times you would pull up your reel and the bait was gone)Had a better time here than I usually do leaving from Sheepshead Bay.

It was a nice day for fishing but it was a bit freezing for this time of year yesterday. The fishing started off slow but it did pick up closer toward the end of the trip. It wouldve been nice to bring home a catch but I did manage to catch a shortie and 2 sea robins. the crew was helpful and I am sure theyd be great if we caught more fish. Overall was a great morning to be out in the water.

We were a group of four people. Took the half day fishing trip with Angler Fishing Fleet. Very organised people, Capt. Stan and Mate Phil. The boat was clean and immaculate. Mate Phil parted a crash training in handling the fishing rods. He was also very knowledgeable about the surrounding land and the islands. One more thing that I need to mention here is the friendliness of the crew. Great people !!

The Angler Fishing Fleet was fantastic! I took my boyfriend on the firework cruise for his birthday. The crew was extremely friendly. They told interesting facts throughout the trip and made sure to make 360 degree turns when there were great photo opportunities. I would most certainly go again.

Fishing wise, everything was good. We didnt catch lots of fish but it wasnt because they didnt try. They did everything they offered.I had a problem though. On their website it was saying they had all kinds of foods and beverages on the boat. So i didnt bring any water. I ate some chocolate bars right after boat took off the dock and i was real thirsty. When i asked the crew for water they said we dont have any here. That menu is for the other boat (website doesnt say it is for the other boat! ) .Unlike anyone else on the boat, I tipped you the first thing in the morning mate, and you say you cant find me a glass of water? You cant ask some guests to share their water maybe? I had to stay under burning sun dehydrated for the next 4-5 hours.

Very courteous and attentive crew. They moved around a lot chasing the fish. Having gone on many different charters, I highly recommend this one. Excellent for first timers as well.

Very little action overall, few people catching something, mostly sea robins. Were fishing as close as 500ft from shore.. Better off spending the money to rent a kayak and fish.

The Captain and the crew were very organized and helpful. I had brought my two kids, ages 10 and 11, what could be an issue with baiting and tangles was not because the mates made it extremely kid friendly with their extra attentiveness. Also the Captain had made an extra effort to stay a bit longer to give another spot a try! had a great time and recommend it highly!

I have fished a few times on the Angler boat. The captain is personal and tries hard to put you on the fish. I remember going on this boat out of Howard Beach, so they have been around for along time. The crew is very helpful also.

Ive been on a lot of party boats, you name it, Ive been there. The angler is the cleanest and one of the friendliest boats in the business. Capt Ken and Pete are top notch as well as the mates and they work hard to put you on the fish.This is the boat where you can bring your wife/girlfriend and kids and not have to worry about foul language and inappropriate behavior. Once in a while you have a patron that hits the sauce too early but thats not the boats fault.The mates are also very helpful whether your a seasoned angler or a beginner, they are there to help you.If your planning on going fishing try them out use the Groupon and you wont regret it.Aaron

I dont expect to catch fish every time I go fishing but I also dont expect to fish so close to shore and relatively in the same spots over and over. We caught many fish but not to many keepers on the entire boat..but thats fishing. My issues with this charter was the captain who showed up a few minutes after 1...and even worse the extra 15 minutes we waiting for a group to arrive...making our actual departure from the dock after 1:15. Its clearly states on their website to arrive by 12:30 as the boat leaves promptly at 1:00 We traveled over 2 hours and managed to arrive on time. My biggest issue on this boat was one of the three mates. Two of the mates were a pleasure but the third not so sociable. And then when it was time to filet the fish he was down right inhumane. Instead of humanely killing the fish before filleting...he gut them alive and descaled them alive.

Everyone caught a ton of fish and my grandpa caught a nice keeper fluke and porgie. Also, it was a great price and the crew was great. Will be coming back soon.

I took my family out on a 1/2 fluke trip late last summer. The crew was more than happy to provide the individual attention all the beginners needed (my kids inlcuded)and they made for an very enjoyable trip despite the lack of keepers. We plan to return next summer!

Very bad customer service! Whoever answer the phone was moody, rude and doesnt know how to deal with customers! I bought a groupon and was expiring today, I booked the trip for tomorrow but it was cancelled because they didnt get enough people for the trip! I called and explained and the answer I got was well you should have used your voucher 2 months ago and not wait for last minute! Mr. Let me tell you something, if I didnt use it before is not your problem, I have my reasons as of why I couldnt do the trip before, also if you have a date opened up for a trip and you didnt get enough people to fill your boat then that is not my problem, my plan should not be cancelled because you didnt sell all your tickets! Yet that is your policy but you shouldnt be rude and answer the way you did to a NEW customer! Instead you should work a deal with your customer, thats the way you get business!I see that you reply to ALL the reviews, if you would take the same time and patience to deal with your customers on the phone, then the story would be different.Good thing groupon gave me my money back! Will NEVER deal with this place again and will not recommend!

A lot of charter boats I have used recently have young, rude, mates who would rather fish and stare at girls than help people out. The Angler boat was a big surprise. The mates where experienced and helpful. I would fully recommend this boat over the others I have fished on Long Island.

This is my first fishing trip on a boat but too bad they didnt let me keep the 2 bass fish which is 2 inches less than the limit. :(They are very strict but the staffs are nice, helpful and knowledgeable.

Been to a few fishing trips in NY.Pro: The ship seems well maintained and clean, friendly staff.Con: The boat for Angler we were on was quite small comparing to other fishing fleets. We went on the the 6-hour trip. It felt that we stayed at one spot for over an hour while no one caught anything. Captain moved the boat at most 3 times. Granted it could just be a slow day, but other fishing boats (Sheepshead bay for example) would have moved a lot more frequently.Overall I would recommend choosing other fishing boats near the Sheepshead bay area. The boats are bigger and captains would constantly change location depending on the fish finder.

I found the Angler Fleet on Groupon,and since I live in Bayside the Boats are near by.On my vacation I fished 4 out of the 7 days, and had a great time.Nobody knows how the Fishing Gods will be, but the guys on Angler bend over backwards to put the guest on fish.The mates are friendly, and always helpful .This is my new fishing designation.

I can even feel sarcastic feeling from the owner.. I would never complain if the execuse was due to weather conditions, as a matter of fact, both days were perfact day as far as I know. As I stated on my original review, the reason of cancellation of both trips were not enough people... Not due to weather condition...Maybe one star is little harsh.. I will update to 3.

My son Spencer and I went out Sat afternoon (May 2nd). We thought we were going to go for flounder but Captain of boat said we were going for striped bass. Ok, bigger fish thats cool we thought. Unfortunately it was simply too early in season to catch them. We went to 3 different spots in the Sound. Started near Throgs neck and finished close to Hart Island. Overall we had a good time chatting with Captain Bob.Will definitely go again, but will wait until Fluke season is in full swing. Id recommend Angler to anyone that asks!

WARNING !!!!!!!!! If you plan on purchasing a Groupon coupon to use on this boat read this WARNING about Capt Kens business practices in how he handles Groupon coupons and will try and get you to pay the full fare.I had purchased a Groupon Coupon for a 4 hr fishing trip for two. I was planning on bringing my son. I had use Groupon coupons before on OTHER Charter fishing boats and have had them accepted without a problem and never had them cancel a trip due to lack of people going fishing.Before buying on any kind of reduce fare coupon for the Angler fleet be advised that this is their practice. You must register and reserve a spot for the time/day/boat you want to go on. You can only do this 7 days or less in advance. You then have to put in your coupon # to reserve your spot. Be careful here though because if you dont show up for the trip for what ever reason and he decides to sail, he will cash in your coupon and you will lose your money. Thats right, he cashes in the coupon and you lose your money. If you are using a Groupon coupon be advise they have also now revised their reservation system and you now need to provide a credit card # so he can charge that for the fare if you dont show up. I dont know if you will need a credit card if you are using a Groupon though. They also require 24 hrs notice should you decide to cancel your trip but they can chose to cancel your trip with much less notice as they did with me at their discretion with no compensation to you.As to my experience I had purchased a Groupon for the boat and as for the terms in order to use it I had 90 days from the date of purchase. As with all Groupons the full value never expires even if the expiration date passes. Well 7 days before my coupon was set to expire, I reserved a trip for the following day, followed their instructions on line and gave my Groupon # to reserve my spot thru their web site. This way I was well within the 90 days. I received a conformation email form them that my spot was reserved. Later that same night I received a phone call and an email from Capt Ken stating that the trip was canceled due to too few reservations for that day/time/boat. (Weather did not play part in the cancellation as it was a beautiful, sunny day.) Needless to say I was unable to reschedule another day within that 6 day period due to work and my childs schedule so the 90 days passed.But since I had reserved a spot within the 90 days and the DECISION TO CANCEL THE TRIP WAS CAPT KENS and not mine, it was my feeling that my coupon should be honored on a later trip. (After all the reason my trip was cancel by them to begin with was they didnt have enough fares to sail. That from my experience is very rarely done on a party boat which may something about this boat. But regardless by honoring the coupon they would be getting two people who had reservations on a boat that my be light in fares.) So I sent Capt Ken an email showing both my previous reservation and his canceling the trip and asked if he would honor the Groupon coupon under the terms I originally purchased it at. He responded back that because the coupon had expired and that he had sailed at other times when the coupon was in effect that he would not honor it but I could use the value of it against the cost of two fares ($35 each.) So in other words since I paid $38 for the coupon it would cost me another $37 to go fishing with my son,. To me it appears to be a bait and switch. He gets you to buy a Groupon, makes you reserve a spot, and then gets to look to see how profitable a trip it will be to decide if he wants to sail. If you dont show up he charges your Groupon and you lose everything. If he cancels the trip on you after you reserve a spot and your coupon later expires before you get a chance to use it again not only will he pocket the Groupon money but hell get the full fare out of you at a later date and there is no penalty to him.I did complain to Groupn and was given a full refund by them. Apparently they have many complaints in regards to this business.

Not a very knowledgable captain. We went to 2 places and 4 people pulled in fish. Dont think he knows where the fish are. Wont be going here again. Ill try captree captains next time.
