The price is now double, if you just watch the kids you now have to pay too, but the condition of the place and service is the same barely passable quality... Credit card slot on the vending machine is not working, water fountain is not working, hot dog was soggy, funnel cake was not available, advertised games on the rink never happened... Will not be going there again for a while, if ever again.
I kinda wish once you turn your skates and walker in you can get them back. This was a blast from the past! I enjoyed it immensely
Brought me back to my youth! Fun in rink games, DJ, all the equipment you need for first time skaters... tons of family fun!
Very, very sweet people that work there. The kids had a great time .And they made sure everyone is safe and healthy. We ll b back and I ll tell everyone what a great place it is . Thank yall so much . God Bless yall
Older rink playing good old school jams. Not too crowded. Good place to learn and practice.
Really fun place. Went skating for an hour or so. We will be going back.
Birthday party for my girls. Had a blast. Friendly folks who work there.
I loved how clean an safe they kep it.
Too demanding on masks. Take your temp at the door. Will never go back. Cared more about people wearing masks than keeping the place clean. The owner yelled at my children multiple times. The place is dirty and it smells.
Nice looking place. But NOT Autism friendly. Its barely small child friendly. They wont let the little people skate in the middle. And if a small child gets off track from the circle, they yell at them over the speakers. We wont be back.
Very fun. Friendly staff and good service.
My kids had so much fun at here.
This rink tries really hard to stay open. I love to support them. They have a relatively clean facility and friendly enough owner/operators. They just dont seem to bring in the revenues to keep the place at 100% and thats the only reason they lost a star. Still a very fun place to take your kids and family for some fun and exercise.
Great place with memories from over the years. Last month, I visited it for my nieces 5th birthday party and was pleasantly surprised to see it is painted in bright colors now, there was a lot of guidance from the announcer for those on the rink, the speaker appeared to see people standing still near the wall - it was comforting that they are watching it carefully to make it safe for all. The party room had brightly colored walls and they provide the pizza and sodas as party packages. Great place for children to learn and practice rollerskating.
My daughter is now 18. The carpet has been the same since she started coming she took a skating lesson here when she was 5.
Still has not changed since i was a kid. Good staff. Still has great skate rentals for roller blades and skates reasonable priced. Good upgrade to food menu, still has that old time roller rink smell. Brought back good memories. Great family friendly activity. All ages welcome.
My family and I love this place. The food is decent and the staff are always really nice and helpful. I love the throw back feel and the vibes are always good :)
We went with a group for Homeschool Skate and had a blast! Its the first Tuesday of the month, and it was a fun field trip for the kiddos. They also had skate walkers for rental for the little ones still learning to skate & a snack bar. (We did not visit the snack bar, but its worth noting if you end up with a hangry kid on your hands!)
Its a cool roller rink catering to all ages, the music is great, and they are clean too spraying the skates after each person. I only wish it were a little more affordable they charge for everything 3 dollars more for inline and 3 more for a training tool for young kids. They also have an arcade but they are all a $1 to play
Families with kids will have a blast. Not the most modern facility but good energy and friendly staff. Good place.
It has been years since Ive skated, but it was fun watching my wife and son skate.
Old school feeling type of rink. They wont let you practice in the middle of the rink, which is bad because they have no place for beginning skaters to work on stuff without being in the way of other skaters. They say for slower skaters to skate closer to the inside, but the skate walkers are all over the place from kids and even slower adults skate wherever they feel like it. That was frustrating.
I held my daughters 12th birthday party here, and overall I would rate this place a 7 out of 10. The pros are the kids are free to skate safely without fear of being run over by fast skaters, during the birthday party my daughter was able to get in the money machine which was a lot of fun, the staff is pretty nice and helpful, and this place was very easy to work with in a short period of time. The cons...on weekends there is limited parking because the parking lot is small. If you.... or if others are holding a party, the kitchen is pretty much taken up by the pizzas the staff is making for the parties. The kitchen staff will not cook anything else on the menu besides pizzas until all of the parties have been served and are over with. Weekends... Parties are happening all day long. My daughters party started at 2 p.m. we stayed until 9 p.m. At 9 p.m. they started serving other things from the snack bar & kitchen besides pizzas however the entire time we were there you could not get anything except a pizza. There are no water fountains here for the children and there are no outside drinks or food available so you will have to pay the $2.50 for a small cup beverage. A suggestion... wristbands should really be given out at this place as to not be confused with who is coming or going
It is a good time to have with your kiddo or for your kiddos to go with friends. They have devices to help keep ones balance for beginners, they keep the rentals in good condition and they keep the facility maintained. Price is very reasonable, a cheap good time.
Love the fact that it has a wall but wished the music was a little more into the times.
We had our daughter s birthday party there. Eventhough it is a little on the older side, it is a great place to hang out and skate.
Came in from Knoxville, Tennessee to take my 3 granddaughters and daughter skating. Havent been skating in 30 years only hit the floor once thanks to the young guy that helped me up.
(part 2)-if you arent advanced in skating please stay up against the wall. that is the safest place to be for a new beginner. if youre advanced at skating PLEASE!! be aware of the little ones/teens/adults who havent mastered skating yet. and just because youre a regular there DOES NOT!! mean you can do whatever you want!.and for everyone saying the rink needs an update. I am sorry but our rink gives off that 70s-80s vibes that many families love and adore. tb is a home to many families. including my sisters and I. it gives off a nostalgic vibe and thats what many people love about this rink. Also I will admit some things need to be fixed. and were working on it. Thank you to anyone who read through all this. its gladly appreciated.
Needs some major updates and new skates but reasonably priced and very old school in a good way
Awesome place for kids, teens, and family! The roller rink is kid-friendly and often is accompanied by fun activities like contests and games for skaters to have a fun time! Theres also skate-supports for beginners available to rent. Also has an arcade, a small restaurant with fun american-fare (pizza, soda, pretzels, etc.)
This place is always fun during bouts.
Old place but the kids had fun. It needs to be spruced up
Always a crowd. Love that the music selection is versatile.
Rude and under staffed. Don’t waist your money for birthday parties here. They purposely overbook. Music could be better. There were no party accommodations that is to be included in the package. Had to ask multiple times for plates & napkins that were included. Made it difficult for children to enjoy the atmosphere. Not enough space for the amount of people they try to squeeze in the establishment. Definitely needs upgrades: staff, building, food, music & DJ, walkers for young children and the building had a bad smell. There are better places & business owners in Dallas.
I had my daughters 7th birthday at Thunderbird skating rink, and it was awesome the people were nice oh, and they accommodated every need that we had. I would not currently recommend the pizza because of the vendor that you using for the crust but other than that the party was a blast and thats one of the best skating rinks around right now.
This place is fantastic. Ive been going here ever since I was a little kid, and the experience is still the same for me. I got a pair of mens size 12 inline skates and they performed perfectly. The music selection is also very well chosen. The skating direction was switched about every other hour, which I liked as it kept things fresh and also allowed your legs to work different muscles evenly. The staff are very friendly and helpful; some games were played to spice up the skating, but did not happen too frequently so as to allow time to skate freely. I requested a cup of water at the snack bar and was not charged for it. Stayed until close, and I cant wait to go back again. :)
Parking lot is too small for the crowds on the weekend. House was packed but it was a fun place to skate.
Its a great place for kids to learn how to roller skate! Its old, but its decent.
I love rollerbladin here, although sometimes islts pretty crowded because of little kids with the red and white walkers that dont listen, you cant controll the kids. The music is great and the entry and rental fee is very reasonable.
Iv been going here for two years now, but just started becoming more comfortable this year. I go here almost every week and I’m never disappointed, and everyone is so nice! :D i like how when I’m here, i feel safe.. even if i fall, lol. ANYWAYS.. FIVE STARSSSSSSSSS! (also THERE IS A FOUNTAIN.. to all yall boomers)
Blast from the last for us but we loved it and have done birthday parties here and been there just for fun and it’s worth it!
This was an iconic place for years. Still good to roller skate. emoyeses have been friendlier and fun place to bring kids. I wish they would use some of the money to clean the dirty carpets or bathrooms.
Great old school roller rink. If you grew up roller skating in the late 70s or 80s, you need to get there. They do a nice job of mixing up a nostalgic vibe but also appealing to the younger crowd. Great place for a birthday party ( my daughter has had 3 there) or a family night out. Walkers are available for younger kids and they even have lessons for those of us who are less advanced than others.... Cough, Cough...
Rude staff that was too busy playing on phones and yelling at someone’s kid, snack bar non existent as they don’t “serve food” on Saturday’s, you have to buy water out the machine which it only takes cash. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because my kids enjoyed skating. The rest is definitely terrible.
This is where the 70s came and refuses to leave! Its a great place to reconnect with your childhood! I love taking my granddaughter to skate. We have a blast!
Great atmosphere and not bad prices
This place is great. I love this place
Great fun - do it again
Great place! We have a high energy little boy, as are all of his friends. We spent 3 hours there and the fun never ended. Nobody, including the adults, wanted to leave.
Fun place to take the kids.
Assassination City Roller Derby practices here. The floor is the best in the area.
This isnt a new place but super popular. Wild crazy with people & birthday partys. Staff was very helpful & efficient.
Cool place, brings back lots of memories
Good lights and music, but the floors are not in great shape, the girl who rented us skates acted bent out of shape with the world, and the skate arena seems small. That said, we did have a good time and like the proximity to our home, and the cost is reasonable.
Good clean fun. Food is really reasonably priced but you can only eat in designated area
I took my family here and we had a great time. I have to recommend that you avoid the roller blades because the inner boots are worn and provide no cushion for your ankles, I would suggest using their regular skates. The food is ok just be prepared to wait if you order pizza.
They closed White Rock roller rink so Im looking for another go to spot so we tried Thunderbird. Music was old. Money machine had way too many rules like you can only use one hand and you cant get the money from certain areas in the tank. Geez there was only like $10 in the tank to begin with. Let a kid live! Skates were yuckie and didnt roll very smoothly. In so many words I guess I will keep looking for my go to.
Umm.. disappointed. The music wasnt good, (which is why I noticed people having ear buds in) and there were A LOT of men dressed like women which made my daughter and I feel quite uneasy. Probably wont be going back. Just to much going on.
Fun, great price on Tuesdays. Smells like feet. : ) Brings back good memories from the 80s.
I had my daughters 10th birthday here!!! When we first made it nice warm atmosphere!!! Sonja the event coordinator was who we spoke to when we first arrived!! When we went to check in at the snack counter we were literally ignored until my husband tapped on the counter then finally someone came and spoke with us....she was such a nice young lady...I asked her if she could be our host...lol...but anyway they said they would come get us at 5 might I add our party was from 4-6....which we didnt make it in there until after 5....they did set up for us and all and then it went left no pizza another staff took our pizza and thought it was hers....I was calm of course nothing was going to ruin this for my baby....if I tell yall they brought us popcorn sodas and nachos to hold us over our hostess was Debbie they call her granny D...I so fell in love with her considering everything that happened they made up for everything....I just had to let everyone know how between Ms. Sonja and Granny Dee they were very accommodating!!! We will be back for sure cause they did everything in their power to make sure we were satisfied...Thanks ladies you are awesome and my daughters party was amazing
Great place to skate! Also home to Assasination City Roller Derby which os super fun to attend
Been here a couple times now with my wife and kids and we had a blast. The kids enjoyed roller skating and keep wanting to come back every chance they get. A fun time for all and an all around great experience. Will definitely be visiting them again!
Had an event there. Nightmare. The owners wife is crazy. She does not honor said prices or arrangements. She literally destroyed our decorations in a fit of anger. She made a total scene and all the kids saw it. She is unbalanced. Her husband is clueless and lets her tip off adults and treat the customers kids badly. I know from another parent they lock kids outside when they close. BEFORE THE PARENT DRIVES UP! THIS PLACE IS A PEDO HAVEN. We dont go any more. My kids are too important.
Place was packed! Probably over Capacity. No where to park.
Fun throwback kinda place. Good price if theres a Groupon. The carpet outside the rink is nasty and could seriously use a regular cleaning. But the kids have a good time whether its clean or not.
Kind of old and outdated looking. Carpet looks super old. Decor looks old but if you dont care about that, then its fun! Staff nice and a fair price. Skate time is good. Fun place!
Other than too many MichealJackson songs, we really enjoyed ourselves
My kids love this place!
Outside of building needs improvement. But the inside is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and the workers are very pleasant and nice.
Carpet needs to be replaced. Dingy
I went there to watch a roller derby event. Its seemed nice. Kind of made you feel like you were stepping back into the 90s when people went to roller rinks. It was nice
Fun place for a kids party
A little old and dated but still had lots of fun! Would love to have better seating for viewing the rink.
Hidden skating rink in Plano. I went here for an 80s birthday party. The staff was friendly and it was fun night.
Has a retro vibe to it (its not been updated but i think it adds to the charm. Reminds me of my childhood). Great place to take the kids to skate. Has a small snack bar and arcade area. You can rent both skates and blades. They also have training walkers to help kids learn how to skate.
Crowded but so much fun
Good sized crowd, nice rink
This is a very cool place to take your kids and it doesnt cost a million bucks. The rink is very nice and the music is a throwback to the glory days of skating rinks in the 80s. Ill definitely be bringing my kids back.
Mediocre rink, music was horrible, and the employees working at the snack bar were rude.Go to interstate roller rink in Lewisville if you want a good experience
I visited on a saturday right when they opened at 11, the place was not busy, which is nice when you have little ones. This location has a good size arena. Also, a good selection of music!Customer service at the front desk and skate counter could use some attention though!
Great skating lessons for beginner skaters on Saturday mornings. Kids had a great time. The teachers made it fun for everyone. Best teacher is K.C. Kleckner, she has taught there off and on for about 30 years.
