I brought my kids for story time. Everyone was so nice, especially Harold, he was great. It is a very small museum, but my kids loved it, and the electricity room is great fun. The only thing I didnt care for was the portion of story time that involved the children telling a puppet No! repeatedly. Hopefully that was just a one-time thing. Well definitely be back, though!

FREE! This was an Interactive historic exhibit. It is well done. The staff on hand are experts and quite willing to give you the full tour which would take about half an hour. It was really nice to stumble upon.☆☆☆☆☆I recommend it for young and old and everyone in between.

It used to be a Railway station from 1901 to 1948. Now they converted it as museum. One to the top places to visit in Downtown Plano, Texas.

We just loved the museum, though its very small however very informative. Museum representatives are too cool and knowledgeable. They will show each and every aspect of the museum and show you around as a personal guide. There are couple of science experimental stuffs which you and your kid will enjoy. They still have the old doors and machinery intact in a working condition. Sorry for no photos as we were much into the museum and forgot to have few clicks. Will post photos next time.

Small museum nothing like big museums with fancy world renowned displays. It is however charming and takes you back to the days of rail service inside City of Dallas and its neighboring communities. Electric trains long before Tesla dotted the then yet to be built tollways. There are displays for kids and adults to explain how electricity work and how its applied to trains. An old train car that visitors can climb aboard and experience what it was like inside one. I would not believe there were electric trains serving Dallas, Plano etc if I didnt see this. Perfect for history buff and a must for train buffs. Great for all ages.

Wow! So glad we stopped here! This is such a great little free museum, fun for everyone. My SO and I went and we are in our 20s and still enjoyed learning about the history of the interurban rails, they make it very engaging. Mike was our guide and he was very kind and knowledgable. I would absolutely recommend!

My wife and I are here visiting from Canada and were very impressed by the museum. It was much more than we expected. Quite apart from the restored railcar, the displays were interesting and informative, not just about the inter-urban rail system, but the history of this area. The interactive displays about electricity are perfect for children. We would certainly recommend it to anyone.

“Small but great local museum”Basically located in the park, adjacent to the DART line, this is a great little museum. You can tour an old trolley outside and play with some electrical gadgets inside. I liked it a whole lot. Great place to learn about local history.

My wife, son (8) and I went to the museum as we enjoy transportation related activities. As we walked in, an older woman with an accent told us to sign the book. (This was our greeting as we were the only people in the lobby) she gave us a brief history on the lobby area.We went into the main area which was a very interactive . Several buttons and switches for kids to press. An older gentleman came out as we looked around. His interpersonal skills were lacking. While I tried to explain things in a manner our 8 year old son could understand, he pipes up explaining how the system works on a level far higher than my son could understand. My son moved to a panel with several push buttons. He began to do what most kids do, press the buttons. He yelled over for our son to stop pushing the buttons since the tv monitor was not turned on. (The museum had been open for 25 minutes now.) We told the man our son didnt know. After the tv came on he said he could press botton #2. We had no interest in this activity now. There was a nice miniture rail road with 2 trains. He had the female turn the only working train on complaining there was a Boy Scout Troop there earlier. We decided we wanted to go outside and look at the train car. He stated he needed more people for the tour. While he rounded up other guests, our son was playing on an interactive station where you plug in Jacks to different outlets. We started to go to the outside train as he yells to our son to unplug the jack. (As if he was supposed to know this.)I guess I cant complain, the place was free.
