I loved it here my first Time stepping in a fallen flag loco and as soon as it opens Im going to run into that amazing place with the biggest smile in my face Im gonna donate to because yall honestly deserve it I was in my dream job it was amazing the smile on my face as soon as I got in that gp38-2 I was in love waving to my aunt and uncle like a train engineer my stomach was filled with butterflys thank you for that experience

Our visit was wonderful. They have several train cars and locomotives that you can go inside. The volunteers were so nice and personable. Loved the old locomotive from 1909 and the snow plow one was a favorite. You can feel the history and know it’s preserved by such caring people. Highly recommended.

A great place to spend a few hours and learn about local history and trains! Fully staffed by volunteers, it runs on donations. Very well maintained, with a large variety of historical artifacts. History, down to the building it’s housed in, is everywhere! Definitely recommend!

Decided to check this place out on a rainy day with the kids. We were surprised to find no entrance fees. The building used to be a facility for building trains and there is a lot of history. Several engines were on display including the last steam engine built in that facility. The cars they have on display were really neat and the exhibit touched more on the work and railroad in the cotton belt. The kids enjoyed being able to walk into the trains and viewing the model trains. Volunteers were friendly and informative! Definitely worth a stop for all train enthusiasts.Only downside is this museum is donation funded and due to this some of the very cool cars show their age. Additionally the set up could benefit from improved lighting and updating of informative plaques.* Please note I frequent the Strasburg Railroad Museum in Pennsylvania and use that for comparison in size and care.

A great place to stop and spend a few hours in a day. Fully staffed by volunteers, if youre willing to listen theyll tell you wonderful tales of life on the rails! And its all free of charge though donations are appreciated.

Love trains? History? This is a must see museum! Very hands on with lots to see from model trains right thru to the real thing. Lots of artifacts as well, thoroughly described and labeled so everyone can enjoy. Small gift shop too featuring SSW819, Cotton Belt and museum merchandise. Excellent for railfans and families!!

This was one of the neatest places! My kids were iffy about going. But they had so much fun once we got there. They were able to get into most of the trains. The volunteers are so nice!

Very big place. All types of railroad cars and all kinds of railroad memorabilia. Highly recommend a vist.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!!! We took our grandsons, ages 7 and 9 to this museum while visiting Cane Creek State Park, which is also 5 stars! Our 9 year old grandson, Jake, is so passionate about trains and he had so many questions. Nathan, our guide, was so helpful but Jake did trip him up a couple times. I cant wait to visit this museum again!

Excellent displays and friendly, informative volunteers.

This place has an incredible collection of some of the oldest boxcar, caboose and artifacts in the world railroad related. The Building is a very old structure with original flooring and Windows.Included in the rail car collection are some of those that are the only one or few of its kind left in the world. Some rail cars still hold original dining situations and bedding from.during the war.Kid friendly with an electric train and some small rail cars. Very well maintained.

One of the best museum experiences. It is great to be able to touch things. Also, there is a dedicated staff with true love of the place.

It is free and has lots of old cotton belt items, trail cars, locomotives, raid snow plow, and they have several small train setups that child will love watching them go around. I had to pry my child out of it.

Great train show every year 1st weekend in April.

The people are friendly and the kids really enjoyed our visit, getting on trains, caboose, etc.

We had an awesome time here!! There was historic trains here! This was almost the best place weve ever gone for trains. There was a snowplow train. And all sorts of stuff! The volenteer lady was EXTREMLY nice a and its FREE! It is completly worth taking the extra time to go here. This place is Very Family Freindly. We will come back someday.
