Stayed here on the way back from the Black Hills, what a nice stop and interesting background about the island.

Wonderful State Park, beautifully maintained. Sites are large and grassy. Few mature trees in the Eastern end, but was still very nice. Great views of the surrounding hills. Nature walks, bike paths, fishing and swimming in the river. Oh did I mention that the bathrooms and showers were awesome and sparkling clean. Certainly nothing bad to say! Friendly people too!

Tough to get into on weekends but had no choice as water pump leaking bad and they did not harass me replacing onsite. Nice campground even found a couple of small bass in the river and quiet hours respected

Always liked Farm Island and nothing has changed. Still love it.

I couldnt be happier with my stay here. The cabin was inexpensive and cozy. The shower house was nice and warm during chill fall evenings I was there. It was quiet because I was there in October. And above all it was clean. I will absolutely stay here again. Its actually a good reason to visit Pierre and explore the area.

Great stay and rates, having Electrical hookup at Statecpark made it perfect. Traveling US this place is a must stop. Swimming and Kayaking was great.Great family fun place :)Only negative...remember your bug spray

New shower houses and restrooms in 2019 clean campgrounds was a great time!

Great campground with huge sites...just be warned that there is no water at the sites. There is a fill station as you enter the grounds, but the staff don’t really warn you to stop and fill up.

Great campground! Friendly staff. Very clean bathroom and shower building. Close to Pierre for supplies or eating out but still a very natural setting on the river.

Its always kept clean when I take my daughter to swim here. Love it!

Camphosts are very strict on enforcing quiet time which I understand but the rain didnt even let up until dark. Also, the playground is in an awkward location, especially if you stay at the East campground. The East campground does not have a comfort station, only vault toilets. So, if you want a shower someplace besides your camper you have to go to the main campground.

I was hoping to have more of a beach when I visited Farm Island. Parks need to definately improve that part.

Ive been going to Farm Island since I was a kid and Ill never grow out of it! Farm Island is pretty great!

This is a pretty park, however, the weekend we went, they did not spray for mosquitos and it was so miserable we couldnt spend much time outside without being eaten alive.

Its a nice place put people keep throwingwine bottles so people can get hurt badly underwater on my feet it hurts please put no wine bottles or breaking and putting in them there dumb of it thank u

Camping and kayaking in such a beautiful place, loved the old Lewis and Clark monument out in the reeds.

I will be there early too so so excited to to we cant wait

There is so much to love about this area. Quiet. Tranquil. Relaxing.

Awesome space and super staff!

Dogs without leashes at camp ground area. By the fishing pods dog owners drive with their dogs outside the car letting them run no supervision. This is happening because park rangers arent doing their jobs. Makes me not want to come here. Making a nice place terrible. State law says dogs must be on leashes.

Favorite place to stay in SD!

Ive been going here for as long as I can remember. Good place to go camping or just for a day at the beach, (that isnt loaded with rocks like most beaches in Pierre/Ft.Pierre) theres playground equipment and bathrooms located near the beach as well. The beaches can become crowded easily on a hot day so the earlier you get there, the better spot youll get. The water isnt as cold (or as fresh) as the Oahe Dam recreation area, which makes it better if its early in the summer or not super hot out. Ive had a time or two where it was so crowded, I couldnt park and had to choose a different place to go.
