I suppose any patch of green in an urban setting is to be commended, but this little park just made me sad. Homeless folk all over the place. No views of anything interesting other that the Westward Ho building and the gigantic sculpture wire thing in the sky, which I hear is kind of cool when it lights up. It didnt light up when I was there. If you can, go out to some actual Sonoran park well away from the center of Phoenix. If you cant, then enjoy this oasis in the depths of the city for what it is.
Great park. Check out the art installation. Well worth it just to come sit in the grass and watch the clouds.
This is a plce where I can come every sunday and help the homeless, through the word of God, and also through feeding them food for the spirit aswell as the body.
Our waiter did a great job food came out good little on the dry side but overall very tasty
Nice place to stop by and chill, catch some sun, if you work near there and are between lunch breaks. They have plenty of sitting areas and if you have a nice little spread, you can chill on that. They also have food trucks I think every Friday or two Fridays a month. Not sure.I will say the food truck prices are not cheap! But it is an alternative from traditional restaurant and I did find southern styled barbecue that is hard to find down this way, so it was worth it!Some people are bothered by the homeless people that hang out there, but they more often than not are catching up on sleep or just relaxing like everybody else. They are most often pleasant as well and do not bother anyone. This is near the post office so one can drop of mail so its just a nice place to stop by if you go back home. Its a respite,a breath of fresh air, from the busy and rushed atmosphere of mid-town Phoenix. Take a break and stop here. You will enjoy it. Dont go there hungry on Food truck days as those lovely scents definately catch you. Thats how the barbecue got me!
There can be some really cool events that take place over here at the Civic Space Park. But this park is also a great place to wait until the light rail or bus comes. The whole park is very big city feeling and who could not notice that large fishing net looking sculpture. All around this park is cool but a lot of people thought some parts of it were a waste of money.
Cant wait till U open. Didnt get a chance to go in when we were there!?
Was a memorable eventful night. Watched Polar Express while having snacks, with a little drizzling of rain.(Which made it feel like my son in heaven was with me.) After the movie, I took a few pix. with Santa!
Not much to do. Nice art work
Great experience today at this park for #PBSArizona! Lots of activities for the little ones and plenty of character favorites such as Clifford and Curious George.
Nice place if it werent for the homeless.
Beautiful park and ideally located in downtown PHX. Great views of the city and lots of seating areas and good shade. The ONLY problem is there is a HIGH concentration of homeless individuals in this area. So be careful at all times of day.
We did our engagement pictures there and we had fun. It was a great background for the pictures.
Clean and safe spot. The arts a little werid but their breakfast is to drool over. Check it out
It was nice but there were 6homeless people sleeping there& no security anywhere.
Great art all around, perfect campus setting for incoming freshmen
Its a nice place they are having a Christian concert of some sort tonight and the have portapotys for people to use the rest room as well as security to make sure everyone is safe for everyone while it is going on
I went there last Wednesday and had a great time! There are food trucks or two parked outside and some art displays. The downside is the place is not that clean when I visit. But overall, its a cool place packed with amazing people. I also read reviews from a local guide that the best time to visit here is at night time, Ill surely visit again next time!
Civic Space Park is a great place for family fun. Go to Phoenix Park and Recreation to see all the activities that go on at all the parks.
I Love this place for many reasons. Reasons that other viewers would not understand, nor agree upon. This place is a refuge.. Of sorts..
Great time as usual. Well organized and amazing time
Has some interesting events through out the year. Can be somewhat unsafe due to increase in homeless community that are there 24/7. But I live quite close and dont seem to have a problem, although I have heard and seen problems arise from and between ASU students, the homeless community and nearby residents. Just be aware if your surroundings and be open minded. We are all equals and you never know what will happen in your life and where you will end up tomorrow
Very nice. Busy with ASU students moving about.
Way too many homeless using this place as a daily camp ground. They have, at times, urinated and number 2 on the property. They have been seen drinking alcohol and doing drugs on occasion as well by ASU students and other visitors. Be very careful as some of the bums will bug you for money and some are known to rob people as well.
Very nice and clean. Really enjoyed it
Great park! I really love it, it was nice to walk in the night with my family and talk about our day, its very secure and clean!
So here is the deal. We went to this park after looking in google for downtown places. We reached on a sunday around 7 pm and believe me there were only 6-8 people. The park was deserted and we finished quickly in 5 mins as the ambience looks scary for a family.I would say, please make sure that there is a public holiday/concert/event or festival before visiting.
Suspended vortex. Must look interesting at night
Its clean and a beautiful way to see phoenix downtown
What a beautiful park in the middle of the city! My friends and I were looking for some easy trails in the area. we love this park
Its great and has a great Pokemon go gym
Great park, safe the police department just moved a precent right in the middle of the park. So all of the homeless do not hang around there any more. Just a nice college atmosphere
Its an interesting park to relax and it is a few blocks from downtown. It it also very close tu ASU.I just recommend you that if you walk at night, avoid the area where there are homeless people living there. My friend and I had an uncomfortable situation where one of them followed us a few blocks.
Seems like a cool place to be & the Oktoberfest was Oktoberfesty but not my scene.
Perfect place to sit down and enjoy a beautiful Saturday Sunday afternoon
A fine park to spend your time.
Great time at the pbs kids parade
Went to the German Festival there.. Nice little park
Very nice place to stroll with family or friends at night!
I love this space! The Flying Sculpture is awesome, and its convenient to the Arts district. Also, the patio/seating area can be reserved for small gatherings and special events.
My center peace
Super cool... What is that thing. I was confused, was there a music festival or something there? There had to be a hundred people all wrapped up sleeping. They were everywhere... Nobody seemed affected by them... So nor was I.
This is a great park in the city. Yes, there are lots of homeless folks around, but Ive never been bothered-everyone can find a nice quiet place to relax here. They were playing a movie on the lawn Friday night. Im not sure how often they do that, but it was a great night for it, and there were lots of people enjoying it. There are cool art installations, lots of places to sit for a minute, and always lots of energy here. One of my favorite places in downtown Phoenix. Plus, you can catch the train and several busses here, which is a plus. Go visit!
I felt fine but literally it’s a homeless refuge. No issues with any of them panhandling but I noticed it was a bit of an encampment for them. Was looking for some more green space to center myself away from the city noise.
Nice park quite a bit of grassy area
Small And peaceful park. Except for the security female officer. She kept staring at us. My husband and I. One of our friends came over to talk to us. And I talk loudly because Im a little hearing impaired. And the security lady comes to our table right away. And says whats going on. I told her we are talking we are friends. And because of my hearing I speak loud. She said oh. I thought you were arguing. Theres no arguing aloud in the park. I told her no we werent arguing just talking. I started laughing. I always read the rules of each park. And Ive never read no arguing haha. Made my day brighter.
The City of Phoenix has move a freesync inside of the park and one of the buildings, its a very cool place, Its more like a College campus because of Arizona State University is right there, even better as far as safe youll see ASU police and the City of Phoenix police. What more to say
Nice place to hang out during most times except the summer.
Its just a cool little Park The cops are few
Very nice area to visit.
Lots of beautiful people and a wonderful place to relax
They have food truck there on Wednesdays and on FridaysFrom 11:30 to 1:30 good Fords and great atmosphere. I have a fun time. Meals from $8 to $13.
Cool place to sit around or have a picnic.
Cool place to check out after dark.
Went to see the Patience art sculpture as a fun thing to do while visiting Phoenix. I was a little underwhelmed.
Too many homeless people sleeping. I took my kids there and they kept asking why are they sleeping there instead of home. Smh
Alot of homeless but they mind their business and had a very nice conversation with one homeless man named Jack
Cool park down town Catch a bite to eat near bye skate or walk get some free air.great place
Pbs kids day. Well organized. Great activities and photo ops. Felt safe and there was alot of police and security and volunteers.
Enjoyed food truck Friday..
Got a bit afraid .
Its under construction but its a beautiful place to read a book and be one with nature
Nice little park just smack dab in the middle of downtown Phoenix.
I appreciate urban parks as much as the next guy, but like 90% of the reviews, I came to see Her Secret is Patience, an art installation by Janet Eschelman. Part UFO, part uterus, its best viewed at night in blues and purples. Its pretty cool, and gradually changes shape a bit as it moves in the breeze.Otherwise, its a pretty basic downtown park- theres a stage area for performance art and its easily accessible by the bus and Metro stops. Unfortunately, there arent any water fountains or public bathrooms, and parking in the area is pretty steep.
City of Phoenix is very ugly
You can take some psych pics when a full moon is above the ney
Really chill and nice art.
Great place just to sit and relax, and enjoy the view.
Taking Steps to College Success
Great place to hang out. Learning by doing. Interact with freinds in out door. wheelchare entrance there are big parkign area. Clean. Good food recomendedd. Romantic place
Relaxing but very intriguing and informative. A must experience in Central Phoenix!
TIP: To get the best photos or see the beauty of Civic Space Park, nighttime is the best time to check it out. #localguides
Nice outting a place to just sit and relax!
Too many homeless people.
Photo with Santa at the park with Elf movie!
I enjoy the wide variety of people watching here. Additionally when they hold Street Fair functions they are always enjoyable and informative. Musical performances could happen way more often.
