We had such a brilliant time at The Nash. We took my grandparents for their 61st anniversary. It was a lovely time all around, and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Everyone was wonderful, and it was nice to find a relaxing space for a large family of all ages to get together and enjoy music.

The most amazing & intimate jazz club in the southwest, with different bands performing almost every night in the heart of downtown Phoenix - especially Fridays & Saturdays. Recognized by Downbeat Magazine as one of the top jazz venues in the U.S., The Nash is named for “the most valuable player” in jazz (Modern Drummer Magazine), Phoenix native Lewis Nash.

The venue is very well done. A mix of table seating, chairs only and a long high table in back.Serves wine and a good selection of beers. Jazz artist art work.

The Nash has and continues to be one of the main reasons I attend First Friday. The atmosphere is excellent and its not limited to the music. The interior inviting and welcoming with friendly and warm staff, and exquisite art decorating its walls.

Terrific place downtown for live jazz music. If you go on the first Friday of the month the concert is free, which is a perfect spot for anyone (date night, by yourself, with a group of friends, family). They have a bar in there now where you can get entire bottles of wine. The website has a calendar of all the musicians going to be there for a specific month and a description of the type of music they play (type of instrument, genre of jazz, something special or individual about them). I went for the first time last month and saw a space influenced jazz band, which entitled their music kind of sounded like the album to the movie Interstellar.

The Nash has to be on your list of places to go in Phoenix. There is not a bad seat in the house. The art exhibits they have there are outstanding. The volunteers have such a happy, light-hearted, energetic demeanor - it gets you in the mood to listen to some great music. The patrons are great, you get a real sense of community. The musicians - GREAT!!!!

Had a great experience at the Nash. It harbors very talented musicians and a very welcoming Jazz community. Both the musicians and people in the audience are friendly and down to earth. Theres not a sense of pretentiousness, so new listeners to this style of music are very welcomed. Thanks for providing student discounts as well.

Went to watch a West Coast jazz ensemble on a Saturday night for the first time. The performers and performance itself was excellent. A privilege to see some truly authentic, knowledgeable and honest bunch of guys paying homage to some of the West Coasts most important Jazz influences from the bop through cool jazz scene. The Nash looks like a real institution in Phoenix, with some inspired art pieces for sale in a vibrant neighbourhood. The setting is intimate while not being restrictive and the acoustics were very good considering the size and shape of the room. The people who run the Nash are true Jazz promoters and it was an authentic experience overall.

Music... Horrible. Embarrassing music last night. What jazz group uses sheet music to keep pace. Sloppy, deliberate and amateur at best. Ive been to better dive establishments that delivered superior music than this second hand cruise ship production.Atmosphere... The place seniors go to after a good meal at Morrisons cafeteria. The vibe was thick with blue hairs. There must have been a casino bus just drop off a group. Let me explain it this way... One leader of the audience would clap after a run of self indulgent solos, by the folks on stage that professed themselves as jazz artists, and the rest of the crowd in turn would awkwardly applaud as a sign of an ignorant herd mentality, as they obviously have never experienced good jazz.Sheepishly, Ill admit to paying a cover to get in...$20 a head. They should be ashamed to be an organization that supports the arts. Its an offense to real artists who know how to jam.In closing, ask yourself... would you have paid to watch the band from you 6th grade school play?Run, dont walk away from this place.

We went last night for our anniversary and Loved it! The entire staff was very friendly, and the live jazz was spectacular. Tickets were $20 each without Student discount (with a student discount its $10 each) but they told us there are free jam sessions on Sundays! Outside food is welcome, so we got food a few doors down and ate it at one of the tables while we watched the show. They did their own arrangements of a lot of classics like Carol King, The Beatles, Bread etc. They have tons of different kinds of performances too, just check out their event calendar. We will be back! Amazing jazz
